Imagine you're just going about your business in the newly stabilzed zone when you hear a truck of insurgents suddenly blast through town only to get slammed by a god rod not 30 seconds later
The fact that Pravus still doesn't know that in Mega Brutal, when you're about to win, their is a special event "desperate attack" from the insurgents which makes them spawn in one random stabilised zone, is hilarious. I always wait for him going like : "HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET HERE??" everytime
@Mark DiSalvi You're talking about two different things. If you wipe out the insurgents, they'll pop up again in *unstable* zones, but won't normally spawn camps in stable zones. Pravus does know that and controls it well. But there's also, at most once per game, a "desperate attack" event where insurgents spawn in an already stable zone without a camp.
I love seeing how mesmerized it is for Pravus to go for regional zensus and then immediately for effective procurement, no wonder the corruption was so high
Those orbital strikes or "rods from god" as they are also called are actually horrifying. If those rods are like their real world counterparts they are able to deliver the same power as a nuclear bomb. The equation is KE=(1/2)mv^2 with m being mass in kg and v being velocity in m/s and KE being kinetic energy in joules. They are basically just tungsten sticks with some rocket stuff in them and still as powerful as nukes.
I am in the habit of referring to orbital bombardment as "reign of terror protocols." Because the mere thought of insurgency can lead to a brutal and decisive strike from above...
18:03 pravus your oribiral strike killed all of them because they exceeded the 4 insurgent per zone limit Also insurgents on mega brutal do a desperate attack on ANY zone even if it's stabilized as a last ditch effort to collpase your operation, they're actually less likely to do it now unlike before where they would do that when you're pretty much sitting in 10 rep
the quote of every one of these videos "lets get the foreign relations office kinda surprised I didn't get that earlier" you have said this every single video of this game lol
The tungsten rod thing is actually something I think the US government considered (correct me if I'm wrong) as dropped from orbit they would hit with the force of about an average nuke
I'm sure someone else already said it but "Rods from God" was a real thing I America tried to do. As a way to get around the whole "no WMD in space" iirc. Also really funny to see it in game lol. I didn't expect to see that orbital overwatch thing lol
On that map I really like to place on the across the river from where you placed. It lets you single troop block off them coming mountains to the city from the bridges or even from below Due to no pas in the north it flat out gives you have lf the map for free.
"Drop tungsten rods at mach 10"... ah, the old Rod from God weapon idea. Surprised it was never attempted, to be honest, though the US (naturally) did explore the idea under Project Thor. Supposed to be the ultimate bunker-buster.
Be like elon musk, during a crisis where some teenagers got stuck in a cave deep underground with no escape, make a sub, if they reject it, give it to them anyways and call the person in command a pedophile
How can you be playing this game for years and not know that the vaccination campaign initiatives can be rolled even in the zones where you don't have intel???

Is it me or anyone else think that pc version mega brute is actually ezier than mobile version? Like complaints can be postponed, corruption is more manageable?
That moment when the orbital strike wipes out the desperate insurgent attack before anyone can realise there's even a fight going on

afaik, the desperate attack can also trigger on lower difficulties, just far less often

Incroyable.

Imagine being an Insurgent, fighting for freedom or something and the Governer activates *THE HAMMER OF DAWN*
I pray for Pravus’ sanity when he tries our Shadow War
That poor soul.
Really reminds me of the Fungus from Plague inc. by having to buy the spores to easily infect new countries
If that isn't the intentional inspiration, that is unintentional continuity genius.
I love how you can WEAPONIZE satalites its like showing insurgents a uno revevers card

Ah yes. When there are too many Insurgents, use orbital strikes. Sounds very Global Defense Initiative tactics against Nod to me lol.

This had me wheezing due to the fact the US Air Force has actually tried to attempt that.

this is a piece of art
Try to do it with no soldiers, like get the tungsten rod upgrades and the airstrikes and full intel and everything. Just sweep them away from space.
Rods from God strike again, literally.

"Jobs are kinda overrated"
- Pravus
Basically in anime “Gate”
Reminds me of the kovac-muldoon from Fallout 76. Except in this game it doesn't offer supplies.
I love the part where pravus says "its pravusin' time!" And just pravused all over the place.
It would be cool if we played AS the insgeres
On a scale from tank commander to smuggler, I’d give this governor a military command
HOW... he really dosnt know about vaccines? they dont requie intel to be rolled out.

Pravus should play more democracy 4. i would love to see a hardest difficulty america run. day 147
amazing
can you play the settlers?
The new ones are a fucking joke
Missed the upload by 30 minutes cause I was bathing my cat, rip
I remember vaccines not requiring intel, wouldn't that development be incredibly valuable for this governer?
Is this scenario playable on the dam map? Might be fun, having the insurgents come into satellite range instead of you expanding to get them
Pravus, you don’t know that the 2 vaccine initiatives, don’t require any intel to be rolled out.
