💥 Major depression is a dangerous illness. The greatest problem is that most people don't know what clinical depression really is. It's a terrible disease. It affects your perception completely. You can't heal depression using words and advice. It affects your perception of being. Your core being. You don't know what you are anymore, when you are in deep depression. They think about depression as a sadness, like the other meaning of the word depression in English, as a transitory sadness. No. Real depression has nothing to do with that. It's a complete dissolution of the self and incapability of any healthy judgement. So, a person on deep depression is beyond being achieved by words, by advice, as a person on diabetes can't heal himself by words of positive thinking. It's like trying to heal a schizophrenic with advices. It's not possible, because their "being" is not accessible anymore. You can only access the "beingness" if the depression is minimal. 🙏👍💥
i feel you. somehow i identify with some bad quality thoughts over time and i started to believe them. and i gave power to the mind and forgot i can choose. i am depressed even in the knowing but somehow i feel powerless in actions. lack of energy. the difference between depressed or happy is a conscious choice. moving attention from the mind to my external world/environment. the mind is like a rabbit-hole. drains energy. lowers the vibe and with that comes low quality thoughts. hope it helps my view.

The insistent attitude of the speaker is totally inappropriate. I would walk out if he was counselling me. Depression is so much more than “knowing”. It is “being”. It certainly has no component of happiness.

I dont think its a simple become aware of awareness and depression disappears. Its a gradual working with your awareness. Becoming familiar with it over time. Not an instant change.
You're trying to get rid of your depression by becoming aware, it doesn't work like that. You have to accept the depression fully and truly embrace the feeling, which means you have to be willing to live with the feeling forever. Only then there will be true acceptance, which can transform anything. But you cannot fake this.
@@alondraacosta-mora6504 Well, anything except that isn't really acceptance isn't it? If you say, i can live with this for a while, there is something in you that resists it, that wants that feeling gone. Which is no acceptance, but tolerance. Then you tolerate the feeling, but you actually want to get to the point where that feeling is no more. When there is true acceptance, then the awareness can dissolve the emotions, heal the depression. But only then. The acceptance has to be true. And that is what Rupert talks about when he says that you have to be willing (in this moment right here) to live with the feeling as if it will be here forever. But the mind is very tricky and tries to fake acceptance in order to get rid of the feeling. So just become aware of that trickery as well. See how you are trying to manipulate your feelings, that will bring you to an honest awareness, to a true acceptance of what is. :)
@@Sydebern get you! interesting, i have a really foggy mind, not sure if i have a brain imbalance, hopefully no. I have like a mild depression possibly since 2 months ago. I was okay but i felt like 2 months ago i made a mistake that disrupt my harmony. I wonder if i am in time to heal. But already in this 2 months im having physical pain now, which is sad.
I've been blessed to have traveled, sat with many great beings and this response has been the most illuminating for me on this subject.
🙏
Basically it is saying that nothing has to change in order to Be that which you already are.
Aware-presence is unconditional.
Nothing has to change for you to be who you are.

I think it's more like ;
To realise depression is a state of what is non existent
Whereas awareness / knowing is the superstate of existence
what is this screen? the thin trasparent film or the black pixel wher the coloured movie loads? Easy to say messy to do!
Brilliant
Wow
So how come I can be depressed in the knowing?

knowing is not in duality.

A jumbled word salad
To cure depression is complicated

What is being? If you were not first aware of being, just being. How would be aware of being depressed? Consciousness precedes all experience….
He is not insistent, it is your ego.

This seems like pure semantics to me. Nothing is actually solved. So yeah, this is BS.
Complete bollocks. I'm in the knowing, and the depression is there, liquidising my limbs. The awareness _barely_ makes any difference.
