I have a Canadian made Mvac central vacuum, it has the motor in the bottom half, it uses a typical large sealed bag. It used to lose suction once the bag became 1/3 full, so I made a slight modification. I put wire mesh rack just below the bag to hold the bag an inch above the secondary filter, I then cut a piece of 2" pipe that is open from below the wire rack, to the top of the canister. Basically a bypass tube, as the bag fills up, the air is not all being drawn through the dust in the bottom half of the bag, but through the top of the bag, which remains for the most part empty. I left the same bag in for eleven months, I noticed a slight loss of suction over the last couple weeks, but nothing close to pre modification suction loss. I changed the bag today, it was so full, I barely got it out. It weighed 9.8 pounds!
Just for your safety that kiddie fire extinguisher is on a recall list. The model of that is h11og. Call kidde and they will send you a free replacement. If you hav more check hem all to see if they are on the recall. It’s if they have a plastic nozzle or handle. I have that model in the background, I am calling kidde soon
We moved into a house with one of these. The realtor didn't know what it was...neither did we. I thought it was a permanent Shop-Vac. But now I know what to do.
@@PerformanceReviews Annoyingly, you only seem to be able to turn the vacuum on and off from the garage. I've seen in videos where it turns on when you open a port or when you plug in the hose to an outlet and flick a switch on it. But the Hoover ports are all plastic and there doesn't seem to be an electrical path along the pipes back to the vacuum.
I guess that we all have our rituals. New Years is the day that I change the batteries in all of my smoke detectors and move my dryer out and vacuum the vent, stovepipe and heat box.
I'm getting a machine that looks pretty similar to this it's not the same model but it's made by the same manufacturer cuz I would rather not damage my walls
Alex I have a question for you. Do the best portable vacs have more power at the end of a hose than a central vac? According to a post I started on VL today portable vacs have more airflow.
I've gotten off vacuum line lately because there are so much misinformation being posted there. Maybe if we're looking at a 1970 central vacuum some portable vacuums have more airflow. But safe to say anything made in the past 20 years will have more airflow at the end of the hose and more water lift then portable vacuums. To give you an idea my MD Central Vacuum compared to a Miele. Has twice the water lift three times the CFM. So anybody claiming that probably has Miss located their head for their buttocks
Performance Reviews Haha there is a lot of misinformation around. I fitted an MD Central vac last year after seeing your video and I'm very pleased with it. It's so convenient to use..I used an upright cleaner today and it now feels heavy and cumbersome in comparison. I still like my Miele C3 but my central vac is my clear favourite. 😁👍

Happy New Year to you too. Was really good to see Inside one of these.
Keep the amazing videos coming!
Holy shit that’s like a bag of dog food lol. I’d love to put a central vac system in my house but it would be a pain to install it. Good vid man.
Happy New Year Alex!Best of health, happiness and success!
+Bruce Solomon same to you!
Love this

I should say, all the vacuum ports are Hoover, so we were looking for Hoover stuff.
Disregard Hoover. Just call up your local MD dealer the hoses and accessories are universal.

+Bruce Solomon those are some pretty good New Year's rituals I might have to start doing that myself.

I poked around vacuum land for that post and couldn't find it can you send me a link?
Performance Reviews yes ok
Do you sell central vacs units and stuff for them at your shop?
I don't sell any of the stuff but I would highly recommend these guys.

Hi is DuoVac a good vacuum?
Never heard of that one.
Performance Reviews it’s made by the same company that owns husky, neura Air and they just acquired beam.
