I just want to add, if I pressed my on switch it would flicker red and blue for a split second and after 16 seconds it would flash blue 4 times, I’ve managed to fix the issue, there was a short circuit within the ANC button due to corrosion, by removing the top tape and the button plate I was able to remove this short circuit however this involved sacrificing my beloved ANC button. Thank you for the video, it pointed me in the right direction!
Hey I know it’s like a year later but I’m having the same issue, do you mean you removed the top tape on the motherboard or here on the power button? I’ve removed it on the power button to no avail:(
Thank you for this video - I had same problem with the WH1000XM4. It is a little different as to get at the button board, you have to remove all the screws in the ear cup and then carefully lift up the plastic making sure not to break the speaker cable. There is then room to get at the buttons and do exactly as you show on the video. Thanks again :-)
Thanks so much! This totally fixed the same problem with my XM4s. The button board is a bit harder to get to because the plastic “dish” is one big part now. It gets stuck on the short audio cables so you can’t lift it out of the way, but there’s enough wiggle room to get a screw driver in and take the board out with a pair of tweezers.
Thank you that fixed it for me. Was a little worried that I need to solder something on the mainboard like other people did. Probably still need to check for a replacement just in case.
@@JCJW101 I’m using my xm3s aswell rn too 😂 they are so good love em, iv had them for 4 years and the ear pads are not tearing or scratched, headband no scratches or over stretched and the drivers not bottoming out or cracky, charges as normal full battery capacity, best ones iv had yet
Hello, the blue light is only staying on during half a second. It's a fast and quick blue light but the headset doesn't work. Do you have any idea please ?
@@goldberg4u I already replaced the battery and nothing change. Apparently, the battery is okay because after the charge, we both see quickly the blue light (and if you are looking closer, with the headset open, also quickly a red light) and if we charge the headset again, the red light (wich means the battery is charging) dissapear. Maybe it is a bad contact. I will also keep my research but it's very annoying
@@HanRoboo I didn’t manage it yet. My headset has not insurance policy and there is no Sony Store in my town. If you have maybe it’s a good idea to ask them and in this case please let me know 😉
This looks like the issue with my headset! it kept turning on/off when unplugging and replugging the cable the first few times, but now it just doesn't work anyone. If anyone know where I can buy a replacement part that ships to Europe, please let me know 🙏
@@carsanwitt Even in the UK it has limited parts and costs are almost the same price as a whole second hand pair. It's worth phoning them though to see if they can help.
what is your first name I swear I'm going to name my first born son after you. (sidenote if you try this, put it in rice. I just left mine out in the air for a little while and it was still flukey. 3 hours in rice did it)
Thank you, the fix worked like a charm. I can't be more grateful.
After watching this video, I just shaked the xm3 and throw them on my couch and it is now fixed! Worth a try!
And now it doesn't work again. 😅
THANK YOU SO MUCH I GOT IT TO WORK

This worked for me after trying all the other hacks: reset, motherboard pressure, battery disconnection ... Many thanks

I'm having this issue now, did you remove the entire board or just make the ribbon cable detached from the plastic?
This worked after trying multiple other things, thanks!

Thanks, man, that was quiet useful! Helped to fix one.
OMG thank you so mutch drop mine on the floor wouldn't not power on. save me from paying a fortune to fix it or buying new one.

My m3's randomly shuts off any fix for that?
I’m getting this too, figure anything?
Me too! Did you fix it ?!
It's was something to do with the power button. I'm trying to source the parts
Im pretty sure this video is meant to fix that, I have the same problem. I’ll do it later today and tell y’all if it worked.

Sony parts website, costs are insane though :-(
