I remember slipping into a sand pit while a very young girl. The more I tried to climb up, the farther down I fell.... It was summer, and in the heat of the day, I looked up and my grandmother was there, reaching down on her poor knees grasping my hand. I may have died that day without her help. Thank you, David, for prodding that memory ...I hadn't thought about for ages.
Again and again , the tiny vibrant life of birds, has been my refuge when the piercing pain of loss, stops me. That small wild life reminds me. There is more beyond this moment.
