Chinese Juniper Re-Style! - Greenwood Bonsai
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 жов 2023
- In this video Corin re-styles a Chinese Juniper 'itoigawa'. This tree has been gown out for a number of years before being brought in for a full wire.
The Chinese Juniper lends its self to wiring very well and once the initial structure has be places the tree will continue to develop into its more refined shape.
The video was filmed over a number of days but in total took around 5-6 hours to complete.

I was lucky enough to see this tree at the 'during' stage and really impressed to now see the final, fully trimmed version. Corin, you are a master of your art.
Spectacular corin😎Dennis
Thank you, Corin!
Brilliant - some day I will attempt bonsai - but for now I create moss/rock plantings! Ha Ha!
Amazing juniper sir 👍
It never ceases to amaze me that all ur videos are absolutely aw inspiring and all the projects look fantastic 😜
Thank you so much Will !
You are my favorite bonsai artist here on UA-cam, Corin. Thanks for your informative videos. Ordered and received the wire caddy from your website and I love it.
Wow, thank you!
Superb styling
Great work as always Corin - thoroughly enjoyed that - thank you!!
Beautiful tree and amazing work
Thank you very much
It's beautiful from all sides!
Thanks Corin
I feel so lucky and privileged to watch your videos! I really envy your hands that they touch the foliage of all these stunning junipers and pines! Thanks!
Great work.
WOW!!!!! Thank you Corin.
Lovely Corin!
Wowser!!- What a transformation!! 😍😍
Great demo, cheers and thanks
Fantastic outcome!
Un grand merci à vous pour la vidéo!
Wonderful to watch such precision. I always learn something from you Corin
Lovely job
Great tree. Cheers from Ojai California
Corin, the offer still stands, would you like to trade your job with mine? Man you are living the dream! The day I will open my own nursery i will break out in tears of happiness! Love the video!
You absolutely don't realize how much work is there.
@@bonsai_life_style I do, but I'm not lazy, and also I detest my corporate life!
Fantastic tree now it’s styled 😎Dennis
Fantastic styling, I will need to learn quite a bit to get even halfway to your standard 👍
Always enjoy watching a pro transform a tree. Always a great insight into how to wire correctly and the positioning. I’ve got to do my own juniper soon, so will be using the pointers in this video for sure. Great video as always Corin 👌
I absolutely did enjoy your video! You always do great work!! Thanks from an older beginner in AL, USA
Josh was a master with the white screen.......... You weren't bad either Corin 😂 another good and informative demonstration thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us Corin.
the US trip was great to watch
well done
That was perfect timing for me Corin,it looks like im getting the wire out.
and the 'less is more' concept is still scary but obviously necessary
Wow, what a brilliant example of your expertise.
Thank you William
nice tree, nice demo again, thank you. Haven't you considered leaning to the left a bit and shortening the right down branch - maybe next step?
Honestly type of Timelapse music you could’ve chosen
Amazing depth of the branches. Almost a 3D effect! At the next repotting it needs a larger pot with softer corners to reflect the informal shape of the tree. Great work!!
We are looking out for a new better quality pot !
8:56 bob Marley what a great music man
I want one !
❤❤❤
👍
Im guessing such a styling costs around £300-400 on such a big tree.
When you see the work being done and skill it should be way more. I pay Audi twice that doing a service and brakes.
Corin is so skilled and naturally charming. His vidoes are amazing.
Yes, around that, and makes such a difference to the tree, increasing it's value and it's beauty
Beautiful. Quick question: does that branch stump on right side need to come off? I’m just curious why it’s still on there. I would think it breaks up the line of the trunk. I’m thinking of starting a couple of bonsai….maybe…😂. Great videos?👍👍👍
👍👌🙂
Consider increasing exposure by half a stop or so when deploying the white screen. As it is the tree goes dark ...
or maybe add a spotlight above where the cameraman is standing.
How do I know for sure that one of my Juniper's is totally dead? Unfortunately my second tree has not done well, even though I was really happy with the shape I coaxed out of it. The needles are a dull green and hard, almost crunchy...I'm assuming there is no saving it?
That tree came out amazing! Great job! Now do u think the bonsai purist would say that the right branch comes out of a curve so it shouldnt be there? I mean it totally fits the tree and looks like it belongs there but is that no good? Great music by the way love it!
That’s the difference between theory and practice
Love your work Corin. Any advice please for someone just starting out on videos. I will continue watching to help my confidence. All the best and keep them coming, love it!
I know you don’t reply much due to so many subscribers but if there’s anyone out there who can provide some inspiration to boost my confidence, I would love that, thank you.
Do you mean from a bonsai perspective or from a camera / audio perspective?
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio Thank you so much for the reply. Any info would be really useful to be honest. I think it would be useful to know what camera you use, is it just an iPhone or something more posh like a DJI OSMO handheld camera that has an axis gimble to steady the shot….and in terms of audio, I just have a little microphone connected to my T-shirt so that would be useful to know how you do your audio.
I watch all your videos and learn so much from them.
There was a guy called Tony (Tony’s bonsai) who passed recently and after watching his videos he really inspired me….he was the one who made me think…..I’m going to have a go at this and regardless of whether I’m good or bad, i just love it.
Thanks for everything.
I would just start off with what you have available, until recently we were using Iphone on a gimble, but now we use a DJI camera (pocket 2) and bluetooth mic. I hope that helps
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio ok that’s great and thank you. If ever I get a bigger audience I might invest in some better gear. Thanks again for spending time chatting 👍👌
Do you have a video showing wire removal from a tree?
amazing skill! what make is your watch bro?
That one is a modified seiko NH35, with Japanese design dial and bezel, in a Bell & Ross style case. Custom build.
Great demo Corin, thanks. Don’t think you mentioned the timing (in the year) of this work. I am assuming that it is early October?
👍
Yeah early Oct. done last week
Night and day difference
What time of year did you do this Corin.
I have one that needs styling. Im in Alberta Canada. Very early spring?
It was done start of OCT
Nice tree, just maybe that first branch on the right side looks too long. If that tree is my, definitely that right branch is much shorter.
Actually I prefer it like that as it balances out he left hand side ?
I think it was a little too much. Now that is just me and my opinion.
