Josh is such an awesome guy. When he played in San Diego with Dot Hacker he took the time to listen to my gabber on and on to him about how much I love his music especially with what he did with John Frusciante on John's solo records. Really eye opening to get his perspective on how he thought about his job on those recordings.
Laughed so hard at that, feel bad for him. I don't know the extent of how much he's cut off from John, but if I were in his position, I'd feel pretty awkward even thinking about texting John given his current situation. :P
+Louis Barnes Why feel bad for him? He's been handed the gig of his life on a plate and is earning more money than you or I will see in a lifetime. A few awkward questions about his predecessor and former friend is a small price to pay.

well.... you pratctice man. that's what I do. I invest a lot of time on both instrument but somehow drums I just ''get it''. to be badass at both I guess would need a lot of practice time.
totally agree and there's no way around practice. I've been drumming since I was 6 years old and have picked up the guitar now at 18. Practising just doesn't become stale, there's so much to learn. But I was wondering, did he go to a music school, did he teach himself etc.

Not really. He plays guitar on a lot of his post RHCP records and played guitar on Duran Duran's record this year. Also, according to Kiedis, Flea has visited him recently. I think John wanted to give space to Josh in the band etc and its Josh who feels awkward about it. Doubt John even thinks too much about it.
This is what Josh said in a recent interview about this relationship with John: “They are not good, and not bad. I would say that [there is] no [relationship] at the moment.” “He tried as much as possible to distance himself from the band and I, while I had to learn to live in it. We have not [fought], just somehow our paths diverged. I think someday we can talk again.” He said that despite their current lack of a relationship, he would ‘definitely’ like to write music with Frusciante again. Hopefully they will get back to being friends one day..
Josh explains why The getaway album sounds forced and hard to listen to - basically didnt like the family of rhcp and felt uncomfortable with rick rubin producing it..what a shame because “im with you” sounded good - still barley any memorable guitar riffs or solos but it was a great effort. Get John frusciante back and have josh play ryhtem + Rick Rubin and thats going to be the best chilis pepper album ever.
