Crawford show a lot more wrinkles and elements when boxing from long and mid range. While we’ve seen EJ best and most destructive work on the inside. So it’s probably best for EJ to try and walk him down and do damage while Bud is still getting his timing down. Personally If I was Derrick my plan would be to jump on Crawford early then ease off and box behind the jab. If Bud starts slow and EJ jumps on him, Crawford will be looking to get his get back that’s when you stick the jab in his face and prevent Crawford from doing that. In the later rounds I’d tell EJ to turn it to 100 and go after him.

@@36983 Spence can box very well and being a good boxer is not dependent on your reach. Ive boxed on a amateur level and having good fundamentals with a good skillset plays a big role. Spence could easily stay on the outside and just outbox Crawford. Spence outboxed and stopped Algeri when Pacquiao couldn't and won every round boxing Mikey who was supposed to be the better boxer. Bud is great. Technical and flashy. But people overrate his switching. He mostly fights southpaw. It’s not like he’s constantly switching every other minute. And people underrated just how varied and talented that Errol is. People get so enamored with him just being a pressure fighter who seeks and destroy they miss the nuance. Even people like these pros who should know better. I respect Virgil. But he is talking about how that grinding style breaks down with time. So does the athletic and sharp style. Hell they all break down with time and punishment accumulated over a career. But neither of them are at that point yet. I would love for people to look beyond the surface narratives of whom these fighters are. Especially in Errol’s case. They compliment dude in one breath and act like he’s a one trick pony in the other.

@@justvibing2497 I didn’t underrate anything. You are doing that typical thing where people read to reply instead of understanding. He mostly fights in southpaw. He doesn’t switch nearly as much as people act like he does. It’s not this super consistent thing he does every other minute. He starts out as orthodox, gets his reads, definitely gets touch some, and then he switches to southpaw and he may switch a few more times for the rest of the whole fight….maybe? That’s not my opinion. That’s a fact. His fights are free to watch. He literally does that exact same pattern in almost all of his fights. Underrating would be me saying he’s bad at it which I didn’t. I said he it’s overrated because he doesn’t do it as nearly as frequently round to round as people act like he does. Savvy?

The crash IS a big factor. No-one walks away from a crash like that quite the same.
