I will be adding this to my workout playlist because not only do I feel a burn in my abs, I'm sweating all over my body. This workout is amazing and it is so fun as well. It helps me to feel more feminine and this makes exercising really fun. I enjoyed doing this a lot.

My previous comment was about belly dancing moves that can help reduce hip dips. We can't change the bone structure of our hips but we can target the muscles that surround them. From my research, I learned that there are three muscles that need to be targeted in order to reduce the appearance of hip dips. These muscles are 1) Gluteus Medius, 2) Gluteus Minimus, and 3) TFL . I am wondering if there are any belly dancing moves that can target these specific muscles. I'm not sure though because I've seen the types of exercises that are used to reduce hip dips and it might be difficult to get that same kind of effect using belly dancing moves. But I just had to ask because I know that belly dancing uses the hips a lot and it would be amazing to work out certain areas of my body by using fun dance moves.
Hey! Yes you are correct, so this is heavily based on growing the glutes but also reducing and toning the abs. This dance will help with working on the abs, so making the mid section tighter. Of course you will also need to eat a balanced diet. I would say that all the workouts with hip kicks ( which are in most ) work out the gluteus a lot. This is because with every hip kick you are squeezing and contracting the glutes. Nonetheless I think its a great idea for me to do a workout targeting the glutes so I have put this in my notes and will make one! 😀

When working out the abs, I prefer more moves that target the transverse abdominis because that would create a smaller waistline. A lot of workout videos just target the muscles closer to the surface (rectus abdominis), which only creates ab definition but doesn't contribute to a smaller waistline. So, I would absolutely love to see a belly dancing ab workout, as well as a belly dancing booty workout (preferably one that also helps to give the appearance of wider hips and improves the look of hip dips). I'm always checking out your new videos. I don't do much cardio because I'm already very skinny but I'm drawn to the workout videos that focus on toning specific areas of the body. Thank you for sharing such lovely videos with us! :)

Hey lovely! There are no actual ways to grow ones hips. The thing you can do is give the illusion of larger hips. What you have to do then is grow your glutes (bum muscles) and thighs. And loose fat around your tummy and tone up the mid section. This would give the illusion of having wider hips. I will post an abs one soon! But for now look at my lean legs based videos . I will have an abs one up soon too 😀

Dear Leilah, I recently started working with you videos. As I I am a former dancer myself (Salsa, Lindy Hop...), I am familiar with most of the moves and I am used to the isolating thing. But I have a question concerning the twisted shimmy: my butt is shaking so much, it doesn' t feel right. Is it just my body (very untrained the las years)? and it will stop by exercising? Or do I relax to much? So the question is: during twisted shimmies is the butt and calfs relaxed or tensed?
Can you tell us what music you use for your vids? ❤️ Love these workout vids to perfect the individual moves and improve speed, I gradually would like to add the movement to music but don’t have a lot of knowledge on what kinds of music to start with :) thanks!

Leilani, when you say squeeze your glutes when you’re doing the twist. Do you mean that only one Glute should be squeezed per twist? Or do you keep both glutes squeezed the whole time?
Hey Jen I squeeze both when I twist actually but that gives a certain effect. you can also do the same move without squeezing and it will have a different effect. See which one you like more on your body. But to workout its best to squeeze both! Also I would love you to join my first online class class if you are around! Hello Ranju, as long as you are on the right diet, eating heathy food and small portions, it is best to do, 2 or 3 of my videos a day, and you will start to see real results in just a few week! 😀
