Thank you for this video!! I am so happy you are back :) I was always so sad seeing no Humblechan videos in my subscription box because you always brighten my day! Thank you for the information about the journals!! So helpful!!

I love the A5 size cousin but hate the weekly vertical layout. I love the weeks horizontal weekly layout but it's so small that I use 2. these look perfect for creating your own customized weekly layout just like a bullet journal and still have the amazing tomoe river paper.

Welcome back! I am totally binge watching all your videos. :) I think I will be getting one of these blank ones because now that I use the cousin avec I have to keep my budgets or collections or even tracking what inks I have in my fountain pens in a completely separate book. This way I can keep a blank cousin on one side and my cousin avec on the other! And my blank one can hang around for as long as it take me to fill. YAY

Yes I ordered two a6 notebooks today. Can’t wait.

Thank you for pointing out the journaling aspect of using these plain notebooks. I really have fallen off from using my A6 Avec for everyday journaling. I don’t really care if I miss a day or two but when it’s been a week, that’s a lot of plain pages. I definitely will be grabbing a few A6 sizes, just so I can keep using my covers. Thanks!

Great and thorough review! I am embarked on my annual planner angst and have been reconsidering H's Day-Free and Plain notebooks, vs. say, Stalogy, Taroko, or Apica. This was a big help.

Thanks for the review of the notebooks. I am going to grab a few for art journaling. I’m so happy you are doing videos leading up to the new release. It’s fun to see your take on the products. Your joy of Hobonichi is infectious. Lol

Thank you for this! I was on the fence about whether to order the A5 notebook to replace my Stálogy for work next year as a companion to my Cousin. You have helped me make my decision: definitely going with the A5 Hobonichi notebook! Thank you again!

Thanks for the walkthrough, will definitely get a A6 for journaling next year, the A5 at work and the weeks I’ll stay with the techos as I do use all their aspects.

Thank you so much for all your suggestions! I've been trying to figure out which book to buy for my journaling. This past year I used an A6 and hacked it into 2 books since it got too chunky to write in...these notebooks would be perfect❣️

Not boring AT ALL! You've totally helped me. I was going to get the AVEC this year, because I like the size for journaling NOT planning ... so now I'm getting the blanks😁😍 yes, I also cover up the quotes, which makes me feel guilty

Thank you for this thorough review. If I ever decide to try hobonichi I might start with one of these. But will have to wait until I finish my stash of A5 midori md notebooks.

so the full reveal for september release happened last night and wow so many options lol i thought for sure i would just stick with the Cousin but now my mind is swirling with possibilities 🤷🏼‍♀️ your notebook video is REALLY helpful! honestly Hobonichi needs to put you on payroll i dont think anyone could do as good a comparison as you 💖

Great points, Humble! In the past, I've always ordered each size (Cousin, A6, Weeks), and thinking about it now, I really don't use the monthly/weekly pages in the Cousin and A6 though I do in the Weeks. I had originally planned to order the plain notebooks in addition to the other Techo books but now... Hmmm... Food for thought! Thanks for a great video!

Just got my plain notebooks from an Etsy shop in japan as Hobonichi only had 1 left! They are so great! I got 2 A5s and I will use one as a journal with my cousin avec in the same cover! I’m just soooo in love with these notebooks!! I also got the YES yellow pencil board from them as Hobonichi was sold out of the A5 pencil board. I also got the Hobonichi schedule stencil (the yellow one!) I also got the jet stream multipen so I feel like I got a mini Hobonichi haul without shopping at Hobonichi-but on that note my very first Hobonichi shopping notification just arrived today !! Yay! I knew you’d be just as excited as me! Whoo hoo! How long does it usually take from shipping notification to arrival? This is my very first order-it was a practice run for the official order I’ll make on 9/1!!

So happy for you, Tracie!! 🙌 I hope you have a lot of fun using your new stuff!! 😀😺 I'm especially loving my A5 plain notebook, so I'm planning on picking up an extra during launch! 📒 Very exciting to get the shipping notification from them! The delivery time varies quite a bit depending on customs, but EMS shipping is usually pretty fast [for deliveries to Canada, anyway]. Several of my orders arrived in less than a week, although my last one took 8 days. The awesome thing is, you should be getting the orange 2019 box with your order! 📦🧡
