I like the day free in part because it DOESNT have the weekly pages.

I would have jumped on the A5 Day Free IF they had included the weekly spreads between the monthlies and the blank pages. Ah well....

KarenS_923 I learned the hard way. Didn’t check before hand and now I’m stuck with it... why would they take the weeks off doesn’t make sense. It’s like a notebook with a monthly calendar... yuck

I love the idea of the Day Free because after looking over the years of all the past planners I’ve used, I’ve BARELY used the daily pages or the weekly spread. Even the Weeks Book I’ve skipped weeks where I didn’t write anything substantial. I don’t use my planners to journal or doodle in. I use separate books for that. So for me the Day Free is perfect. I waste less book this way.

Actually bought this because I plan on using it for a book/reading journal. It seems organized enough to hold me accountable but not so much so that I have wasted space. The blank pages will be to write my reviews of the books I read or my thoughts after finishing each book.

I don't use weekly pages and rarely fill an entire page daily. This is perfect for my bujo.

I really considered the day free since I don't use the dailies as one page per day.... But ultimately the lack of weekly made it less than ideal for me. I'd love it if they released a monthly/weekly only in b6 size! Or a two day per page in a6...

could you get the day free and make your own weekly pages?

Yes, monthly + weekly + some pages

There's a Taiwanese company (Chuyu Culture) that makes planners with TR paper in A5, A6, and B6 bundled with cloth covers and clear cover-on-covers for a fraction of the price tag of a Hobonichi. I use 5mm grid paper journals for longhand journaling.

The day free sounds perfect for me! I enjoyed the weeks because it made me feel less guilty about skipping a day, but I think I really want those bigger pages...

I love the day free. The weeklies in the cousin are wasted on me and the freedom of being able to write as little or as much as I want is great. I've admittedly bought 4 as I hope they dont change them!

If I end up using the Day Free I will use some of the blank pages to hand draw a weekly and then immediately after will be the daily for that week.

I love the day free!!! I only plan monthly and the idea that it comes with only monthly and notes on the side. It's PERFECT! If needed, I just add my own layout with the pages given for those very busy weeks.

I noticed that I don't use weeklies in my planner, and I journal every now and then, not every day. I love how bigger the monthlies are as compared to what I have now on my current planner. I don't like the pressure or constraint of having to write every day. The Tamoe paper is just so ughhmazing! So, I think the Hobo Day-Free is right for me. 😊

I plan to switch to the day free. I don’t use the weekly as much and do a modified week daily to do listing. I cannot give up Tomoe paper though!!!!

Been thinking about the Day Free, but was afraid I wouldn´t be able to journal (almost) daily in the a6 due to the room. So I might get an a5?? Thanks for this video!

I've thought bout this and will be getting a couple day free for a once and done, and one for medical tracking and appt notes. Otherwise, the a5 Cousin will still be my EDC.

Personally it doesn’t bother me that there are no weeklies-that’s what my Weeks is for. As you mentioned, I feel guilty when I look at all those empty pages, get down on myself. I do plan on doing better in 2020 but want to add photos to the mix as well. I think the day-free is my choice of journal for 2020!

Thank you for this. I wish it had more notes pages because then it would really be customizable for whatever you wanted to do. I'm going have to stick with my stalogy for bullet journaling it would been nice to have those monthly pages already there though

Thanks a lot for your video! I will be definitely consider one, since I do bucket journal and I think it will be useful having the monthly calendars in advance, instead of a future log.

I personally do not have a preference yet since I am still way to new to Hobonichi and have only used the Weeks. I have however purchased a A5 Avec and A6 Avec for next year to get a feel for them. So I probably can have more of an opinion after a full year of using the different sizes. I can probably see myself using the Day Free more as a journal not a planner though is what I noticed. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but who knows. I actually made it a goal for myself to journal daily since I have always been on and off about it. So Like you mentioned accountability. The dates give me that. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Plus I would like to see one finish journal before i jump into another. Hahaha I like new things and always end up jumping around.

for me the lack of weeklies is fine because I plan on using the A5 as a financial planner so it's perfect for what I need. also, I use a rolling weekly calendar for myself so no weeklies is not a big deal for me either way.

I think im getting the A6 day free for work. I have an a6 avec that i use daily and i love to decorate and journal in it and i love the size. so i think having a day free a6 one for just work notes and projects will be good.

Wish they would have doubled the amount of day free pages. I had just got used to the 12 boxes. Would love some ideas for the 100 list. 🙂

      Hmm...me too.
I’ve heard of people using it for a bucket list, reading list (to read or have read), wishlist, gift list, savings tracker, etc.

Making it like a Stalogy 365 but with the monthlies would have been perfect :(

I'm considering the day free just because it does not have the weekly pages. I have a cousin now and I don't know what to do with the weekly pages.

I ordered the A5 Day Free because it DID NOT have the vertical weekly. Not everyone likes or needs the weekly pages.

It would be perfect with the weeks printed, but hobo is notorious for not giving people what they want. I asked them to change for the regular shipping because the one that they have now is more expensive but arrive as the regular shipping, they said no. And they added even more to their shipping cost since then.

On the Hobonichi site they suggest that people have a Cousin AND a weeks. I love the Cousin Weekly layout but I carry a Weeks as my EDC therefore my Cousin weekly is basically ignored. I look forward to see if 2020 will be beneficial with my new Day Free Cousin and Weeks combo **fingers crossed**
