My sister called me white washed because I didn’t like her type of music. It’s honestly depressing how if a black person doesn’t like a popular type of black media they are considered an Oreo.
Was looking for a comment like this. Being called an oreo, "sounding" white/Asian, being uninterested in mainstream rap and hip hop (and people teasing you about it), and way more, can really take a hit on your identity growing up. I never really felt like I fit in with most black kids growing up because of the way I am. Still don't as an adult. Like they say, if there's a million black people on the planet, then there are a million ways to be black. I hope you don't deal with too much more of that annoyance from people. Keep doing you.
Oh how I empathize with you.. If I had a dollar for how many times I’ve been called an Oreo because I “speak proper”, or don’t twerk on command I’d be a millionaire by now
Same like I wish people wouldn’t say you have to follow all the stereotypes of your race or if your friends with other races it’s bad when it’s really good
I was at a Doja Cat concert last month. She was good! She danced, sang live, did funny quirky things, the crowd was DEAD, all phones were out. The moment she looked out in the crowd she bent over and twerked. The crowd finally came alive and screamed. At that moment I knew what society is coming too.
Yeah, if Fredrick Douglass or Malcom X came back were resurrected and saw what has happened to their people now, they’d be begging to go back to their graves.
The main issue is how society rewards and incentivized it. "Sex sells". Non-sexualized female performers are actively punished for it by a lack of attention, and their talent is disregarded. This happens in every industry, too. All that matter for women are looks and sexual appeal, it sucks. If there wasn't such a demand then the promiscuity wouldn't exist.
As a woman of color, I’m appalled. Encouraging women to become oversexulized does literally NOTHING for us. It sets us back so far in society. It’s honestly disrespectful to the generations before us who fought SO HARD not be just a sex object. To be allowed in the workforce…. To be able to go to college rather than just getting married and having as many children as their husband wanted without a voice because they weren’t allowed birth control. No choice but to be represented by their body. They fought so hard. Y’all should be ashamed.

Reminds me of the scene in Idiocracy where people go to the movies to watch a film called “Ass” and it’s literally just a bare ass on screen for like 2 hours. That’s where we’re headed.
It's not just female rappers, male rappers have been sexualizing themselves and women in their music, promoting promiscuity, and forgoing clothes, indoctrinating children. This is what has become expected of women in the rap genre because of the standards set in rap. This isnt "gold chains and crime vs hoe culture" it's the same messages being conveyed but intended for different audiences, to fully contextualize this you must view rap culture as a whole rather than seeing every subgenre as being a monolith, rap is not monolithic, there are plenty of examples of successful rappers that don't follow the social norms set by the scene
Thank you. They get all moral when it comes to women forgetting all the nonsense the men they revere have said and done. Both male and female stars are guilty.
I was always called out for “acting white” for listening to hard rock, heavy metal, and country music. Very happy I just did what I liked because I couldn’t image only being recommended/surrounded by this garbage.
@FunnyImpala-jn6wk deservedly so? Most people in the scene where I was were straight edge (sober, no drugs or alcohol). And a good proportion were Christian. What’s your point?
As much as I do agree with this video, we have to acknowledge that this is not just a Female Rap issue. This is a mainstream rap issue. Basically promoted drug use, gun violence, and flexing material possessions. And it's hard for a parent to shield their child from it depending on their background. It's pretty much you hope your child does the right thing or not.
Thanks for this comment. I was coming over to write something similar. I don't agree with these overly sexual lyrics, it's not just women. The men are shocking and the women are trying to come up on their level. But naturally the women get knocked down. They are both over the top, but have a go at the men too.
As someone who's lived a life of degeneracy *(drinking, doing drugs, hiring prostitutes)* when the dust settles, you are still left a hollow shell of your former self. If I could trade all that for authentic love from someone who actually cares about me, I would do it in a heartbeat.

It’s definitely a culture difference. Once you said you lived in Nigeria I understood why it’s so shocking to you. I’m black American and I can attest This has been going on for a long time in the black community and is not new. I was born early 90s in Chicago south side. As soon as I went to elementary school I was exposed to degeneracy. I’m talking kids cursing, rap music, drugs, etc. I thank god both of my parents were in my life and never was influenced by the culture. The respect I have for my father overrided every peer pressure moment and I always make sure to thank him for that.
If you were born during that time, you didn't live it! I was born in 1979 in Chicago! In the 90's I was in middle school and high school. I witnessed and experienced all of it.
Can you explain why black people of the US love this behavior ? It's having a copycat impact on black people across the world. To my knowledge slave owners who abused there slaves, loved to make the excuse to hyper sexualize them and now it's seem to normal. Confirming the old prejudice.
Let’s be honest. Rap is mainly a males genre and a lot of males don’t fuck with female rap, they only care if the rapper is good looking and shows their body
Nah we still don’t care and don’t listen to them tbh . It’s the labels that push this bs both sexes have brilliant artists that are more positive but they don’t get pushed . Stop regurgitating shit you see other women say how bout you actually speak to the men
Here's a tip: you guys should check out a female rapper named Neelam, she is extremely good and doesn't promote any degenerate crap. Sadly the labels don't see this as the idea of a muslim female rapper who is happily married and doesn't promote ratchet behaviour is simply not marketable to them. She is SICK though, go UA-cam her now. I listen to her all day

Somebody called it! Thank you...im so saddened for young black girls and their mothers...we need strong minds to teach them that the overly sexual presentation is not..i repeat NOT female empowerment nor is it what men are looking for
@hunterzolomon1303 yes I do, but I am female..and my primary concern is the female mind and how females can stand truly in their power...which in my opinion should not involve pandering to male sexual desires.

What’s the worst part is that there are executives that push this content and then it is labeled as modern “black culture” and played at the White House. As you said, there are so many talented black women who can sing like angels and carry a positive message with their art, but they are not “put on”. Instead they push this filth to children up front. It’s tempting and hard not to want to join in on the trend of promiscuity when you see the attention and praise being promiscuous gets you. I remember being 14/15 and doing highly inappropriate things. I did it for the attention it got me. Not a single guy would ever speak to me, let alone acknowledge me, unless they were sexually interested. Thinking about it now absolutely disgusts me, but it helps me see where young women today are coming from. It’s the sad reality of our world, and unfortunately, it will never end. Women have been overly sexualized forever; that’s nothing new. The only difference now is women tend to over-sexualize themselves so that they get something in return-fame, Money, Attention, “empowerment,” etc. Anyways, Great video. It’s refreshing to see not everyone has been brainwashed by our culture.
I put quotes around empowerment because I think that idea is backward and absolute bs. But I know many women say being extremely sexual is empowering for them, so whatev.
Honestly of someone wants yo live that life. Let me know why should I feel like I should look down at them or try to change them. I mean men who have sexual lifes are usually praised well women are not I couldn't care how someone lives their life
People typically attract what they put out. These problems discussed in this video are 2 fold, like the guy explains. The fault isn't only on women or only on men. It's a cycle that's unfortunately gotten ahold of the majority. Unfortunately, since the majority engage in all this promiscuous culture, the majority of those maybe not as inclined to it as much inevitably get sucked in. While those who aren't interested in engaging and manage to stay out of it end up with far fewer options when it comes to relationships, whether platonic or romantic. There are few who manage to take the promiscuous route and still get the faithful, loyal, and trustworthy romantic partner. It's a massive gamble to try and have it both ways. If you're tempted, stay strong and hopefully you'll attract someone with a quality of character to match your own.
Baby mama culture is becoming a thing in Nigeria now and its so scary these celebrities and influences with no brains keeps encouraging Nigerian women to become baby moms ! SAD!!!

Don't exaggerate, it's common amongst celebrities in Nigeria only. It's not a celebrated thing in the larger society of Nigeria. Nigeria is very religious and adhere strictly to old cultural values both in the north, west, east and south. In a country were a divorcee is stigmatized. You can't tell me baby mama is a very rampant, common and celebrated thing. Marriage is considered as sacred and very important in Nigeria.

Just like the male rappers encouraging the young ones to deal in drugs and become a gangster. They think it's the path to riches but more often it's the path to prison or the grave. Your grammatical presentation of the sentence is slightly wrong. It would be "Do male rappers not promote exactly the same thing?" IF you used Don't instead of do not yes that would be correct. Sorry if this comes off as annoying but I'm assuming you're a Non-native speaker.
You should watch the video, girls who rap are very unlikely to be popular at all unless they're talking about sex or revealing their bodies. With male rappers they can make rap about other things without as much lost engagement
@@margaretreefer1145 yes, people who listen to that stuff are asking for a negative mindset and only perpetuate the problem. It's just upsetting that women are so objectified in rap and have to adhere to that image for clout. Hence the video
My biggest problem is letting children listen to it. At the end of the day, these women are grown and if that’s how they choose to portray themselves, all power to them. This new generation of parents don’t really want to be parents because my parents made it clear that some things in life I just had to wait until I was older and if I was trying to do too much you better believe I heard a “you’re trying to be grown?” Then I was sent right back to my room to change my clothing.
My biggest issue is how this influences younger women. I was one of those women and it’s fucked up. Black girls are the ones who really become victim to this as well. They don’t get to see all the beautiful successful black women and men! It’s honestly sad. This type of music and imagery needs to be boycotted!!!!! Men are to blame in the industry as well. This is why we need more women in the music industry behind the scenes. This is all for money but yes it’s intentional.
The women are choosing to do this you fool. You women never take accountability. Yes, men are also at fault, but it isn't magically going to get better by magically implanting more women. It all started with gangster rap, it’s a double edged sword ..because people who grew up in the hood were finally heard, and had an outlet…but then, the lines got crossed more and more , the boundaries pushed further, and now here we are,and itll probably get worse I don’t think it’ll ever get better, bad thing is it effects our black people the most…as if we’re under its spell and its orders .
NWA and 2 Live Crew are literally the two most influential rap groups in my opinion! They set the tone and template for most of the rap lyrics we hear today...

As a multilingual with non-native English speaking friends, I've had requests from time to time to translate songs for them into their native language. I've come to notice that a lot of rap songs have meaningless lyrics, or the lyrics are so vulgar/full of innuendos that it's hard to translate. Not all rap songs, of course, but a lot of them.
>the lyrics are hard to translate because they're meaningless >the lyrics are hard to translate because they contain innuendos ... you realise these two are polar opposite claims, right?
So are male rappers since their inception. Nearly all male rappers have a song or songs talking about beating women, sleeping with underage girls and all around violence and misogyny. Keep the same energy for the boys.
Tbh I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this way. I got influenced by the toxicity at a very young age and started wyling out as a youth by getting drunk and doing drugs, later getting into harder substances and sleeping around with different women, crashing out with violence and putting myself and others in bad situations. After nearly having a baby of my own and almost subjecting this child to the exact same lifestyle being talked about here, it certainly has made me think about my actions with a lot more clarity. I hope that ideas like this will one day change hearts and minds.

It's not just female rappers, male rappers have been sexualizing themselves and women in their music, promoting promiscuity, and forgoing clothes, indoctrinating children. This is what has become expected of women in the rap genre because of the standards set in rap.
I mean men who have sexual lifes are usually praised well women are not
I couldn't care how someone lives their life
People typically attract what they put out.
SAD!!!

In the UK, feminist organisations are going to schools & hospitals & shelters teaching staff & students that "Purity Culture" is harmful, opening the door for Promiscuity Culture.
Promiscuity is gross sticking with danmei and overpowered fantasy webnovels
This new wave of female artists are ridiculous🙏🏾🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Real asf n these mfs gon keep pushing the ones that sexualize themselves to the max with minimum talent while the low key ones who do the opposite don’t get a spot.

@@LifewithAbrea anaconda changed the music scene in female rap
It seems like a cultural shift in the last two-three decades. Because we did have very popular female rappers back then Salt & Peppa, Missy Elliot, Lauryn Hill. The list goes on, but where did this shift happen?
It had to be in the 2010s
Don’t forget Left Eye.
Let’s keep this standard for men who rap about promiscuity as well.
Promiscuity is getting so bad now that the little five-year- old girls and under dance with their tongues out
‘Hoesome,” is crazy but factual😂😂
"Wh0resome" works too maybe.
Do not male rappers promote exactly the same thing?
Your grammatical presentation of the sentence is slightly wrong. It would be "Do male rappers not promote exactly the same thing?" IF you used Don't instead of do not yes that would be correct. Sorry if this comes off as annoying but I'm assuming you're a Non-native speaker.
Ong but when women do it it’s a problem as usual 🫠.
You should watch the video, girls who rap are very unlikely to be popular at all unless they're talking about sex or revealing their bodies. With male rappers they can make rap about other things without as much lost engagement
Yep. Live that gangsta lifestyle, it's not the rapper's responsibility where it takes you.
It wouldn’t matter sex sells
Some how it's always a man's fault 😂
The women are choosing to do this you fool. You women never take accountability. Yes, men are also at fault, but it isn't magically going to get better by magically implanting more women. They're literally already there now. This is what they choose to promote. They are responsible for what they do. Look all over social media. You are ridiculous.
You mean feminist and simp but gangsta rap ruin us to at least they do make sense

As an 18 year old female, this generation is a big disappointment and tbh i wouldnt want to raise my kids(in the future) in this scary world😔.Thank you for sharing your thoughts❤
As an 15 yo female ( yet not girl) this generation is the best we got so far. Its up to us to mend and fix what we git. MY question is, what problem do you truly see?
@@leafq The problem is US.We are the problem !
you’re a girl , not a female
Same mindset with me and my sister at 22 and 24.
They set the tone and template for most of the rap lyrics we hear today...
gangsta rap was made for black people to express the struggles they faced if the old rappers like Biggie, Eazy e or 2pac would see what music has become they wouldnt be too happy
I have absolutely no interest in a woman who is covered in tattoos, walks around half naked, or swears like a sailor. I see only problems, and no real loving relationship from it
We lost the plot when they started calling this thing “sexy”

As a multilingual with non-native English speaking friends, I've had requests from time to time to translate songs for them into their native language. I've come to notice that a lot of rap songs have meaningless lyrics, or the lyrics are so vulgar/full of innuendos that it's hard to translate. Not all rap songs, of course, but a lot of them.
>the lyrics are hard to translate because they're meaningless
>the lyrics are hard to translate because they contain innuendos
... you realise these two are polar opposite claims, right?
So are male rappers since their inception. Nearly all male rappers have a song or songs talking about beating women, sleeping with underage girls and all around violence and misogyny. Keep the same energy for the boys.
Im interested to see how long sexy red career will last. Is she just a trend for the year or is she gonna have longevity?
Like the rest of the new other rapper we forgot
Like most artists they come and go
Tbh I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
KIM'S CHILD IS 10 YEARS OLD ALREADY!? Damn. Time flew by so quickly
No your mind is just growing up
@JakB00h you and him are the only ones bringing up kids.
I'm focused on growth and development
@JakB00h the concept of time flying. The idea that it goes faster. Not a kid, like you.
Stop self projecting
@JakB00h where's your comments?? Smh
Money ain't evil but the love of it is. You Definitely hit the nail on the head and as a woman I'm ashamed & offended. I dislike everything about her and the rest of them who are in her category they have ruined the quality of music has become the worst I've seen & heard. How can we stop this propaganda? How can we reset this situation when its become so tainted?
"baby momma" culture is why I practice chastity. Even my promiscuous coworkers are impressed, surprisingly they don't even try to get me to start sleeping around
"surprisingly" LMAOOO
have you ever considered that maybe your delusions about how society secretly wants to force women into promiscuity are just ... wrong?
maybe it's just you projecting because you're triggered that women are allowed to do what they want, because YOU are the one who wants to force women like sexxy redd OUT of promiscuity, so you play the victim like authoritarians always do? (like christians when their religion is taken out of schools, or homophobic store owners who dont want to sell wedding cakes to gay people, and so on)
just a thought, mate. you've opened your mind so much that everything fell out
Man this can't even be a one video topic. We need more content like this forcing us to really think about these things as much as it's being forced on us.

Seeing this video really made me feel like there are people out there that notice/oppose the path of destruction that we as a culture/ Society is headed. I felt alone in this fight.
U were never alone in this, I’m glad it’s people out here with dignity and respect and common sense
Being “sexy” and freaky doesn’t look good when you have no class to go along with it. That was always my impression of her, Meg, Cardi, Ice Spice, etc. And to think little girls are idolizing them? That’s wild. Look at Alina Baraz… she’s sexy but classy at the same time. Then again she isn’t a rapper but man, you don’t have to go full blown ignorant just cause you rap. Im not saying you can’t enjoy their music either but it does get a bit ridiculous after a while. Dave Chappelle really wasn’t lying when he made that joke about women dancing to anything now.. Beat em with da d, beat em with the d.. 💀🤣 and that was in what, 07, 08? lol smh
Lool..and Chris rock rendition of lil John "to the sweat drip on my balls, skit skit!" 🤣🤣
Half of them can't rap. And don't even have bars. They joke about this. The city girls have just released a song called no bars. like this is something to be proud of 😢
I blame late gen z babies, their parents and the men who jerk off to this sht to keep their careers going 💀
Meg can at least rap and her songs do cover more subject matters aside from getting money or sex. Her song cobra cover the death of her parents and her mental health
That was Chris Rock not Chappelle
I know cause Chris is my second favorite comedian after G. Carlin
Mad respect for covering topics regarding the continuous downfall of our community

It's not free expression, it's called degeneracy and who're dom.
At first I thought this video was going to be awful. I was hearing misogyny and victim blaming. But you know what? I'm so glad I listened till the end. You made some poignant observations and I'm glad to see more people critiquing harmful models of behaviour that are being directly pushed onto already vulnerable communities (mostly young boys and girls from racialized or poor communities.) I'm really glad you ended on a call to analysis: Who truly benefits from this culture? Because it doesn't seem to be black women.

You are a very wise young man!..I know your parents are proud👊🏾
I was opposed to female artists who rapped hyper sexually at first, eventually i did become more accepting to it and now I consume it regularly.. 1 if the main reasons I’ve dabbled into h o e culture is because I realized the artificial confidence and “strength” it gave me. I felt I had my power back after I got my heart broken by a man.. this music makes me not care so much about pleasing a man and being depressed over them.. I’m not too deep into the culture like some people I know but I’ve definitely got caught up in it mostly no of this reason. It does influence the way we young women thinks and eventually behave. I noticed the huge impact this has and although I do listen to sexyy red and Megan thee stallion etc, I do agree with the points and awareness this videos exhibits..
