Great lesson. My favorite Jazz album of all time: "Kind of Blue" ( Miles & Coltrane ). I'm a guitar player who's learning Jazz Bass. I've always wanted to learn this. oNe LoVe from NYC
I really like this lesson. I’ve been looking for something new to play. Really well explained. I hope you are enjoying your summer holidays and not missing the english winter
Thanks! It's very basic and bare bones actually. Bass--> Avalon U5--> US Apollo into Logic. Stock pickups. No amp or pedal! I tend to plug in and play for UA-cam videos. I might get more involved when I record. I'll do more videos on recording soon...
The madness of people complaining about free lessons! 🤣 Only joking. To be fair, you’re probably right. This was an earlier video in my learning-UA-cam-teaching phase. Also, teaching on UA-cam is really not easy at all. No student, no feedback, no interaction; just a camera staring back at you. I respectfully ask you to keep that in mind. There is a rewind button and a slow down feature if there is something useful that went by a bit quickly. Thanks for your comment and have a good day. 🙏
Try to work on your ear and to learn the scale/arpeggio/triad patterns. Link any pattern to a sound and work hard on this skill. It will enable you to play what you like and not to have to rely on TAB.
Going to have to respectfully disagree with you on this one. Hopefully people can play the thing I’m teaching after I teach it. The difficult thing becomes manageable after some hard work. That’s the whole point of learning. 🙏👍

Hi Dan, I just subscribed. You are a very good teacher. No showing off which is a big plus for me.
Thanks very much, Kevin!
nice, what a groovy bassline, understated
A classic!
Love the Dorian lesson! Thank you ✌❤
Thanks for watching!
Nice lesson Dan! 👍🏾
Thanks Trevor!

Thanks Michael. Raining a lot here but it's not cold!
Awesome thanks ✌️🎶
Love this. How about autumn leaves
Thanks. Definitely on the list...
Nice
I’ve seen this song played at least 3 different ways, which is the right version??
Interpret it how you like! Listen to the version you like best (the original) and figure that out.
good !
This is great and luckily I speak in ADHD
Awesome sound. Whats the amp and pedal? I assume its flats? And any special pickups? I need to replicate that !

Would love the tabs for this...yes, I'm lazy.
Sorry, I don’t have it!
doesnt the intro bass line start with and E note and then modulates to F?
Think it’s Dm to Ebm but I could be wrong. Em to Fm would also work.
@@OnlineBassCourses I was referring to the main opening riff Dan
@@stevecrozet306 are you talking about the original? I’d have to double check!
@@OnlineBassCourses yes the original
@@stevecrozet306 what I said before: Dm to Ebm both Dorian. 👍
I choose to Tune down to D-G-C-F or play the song transposed to Em LOL
just let me know if your teachers also went so fast with their hands when they explained to you. The madness of the human mind...

Tabs would’ve been extremely helpful 😏

If you need Dan to teach you this tune, the tune is too difficult for you. I know I sound like I'm trolling but Dan knows I'm right.

@@OnlineBassCourses you're a good one.
