To everyone that watches and likes Misery, I have to sugest Dolores Claiborne. Stephen King wrote it for Kathy to play in it after seeing her in Misery 😊 I like your reactions, you really pay atention and give good commentary. Keep going ❤
@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy Yes! Kathy Bates regularly mentions Dolores Claiborne as one of her favorite jobs. Unfortunately it was released in the box office dead-zone of late March in 1995. At the time, Pulp Fiction, Forest Gump, and The Shawshank Redemption were all still in theaters and pulling most of the audiences. I'm sorry, I'm rambling. Your reactions are super enjoyable. Thank you!
thanks for the info. I happy you liked it.at some point I will check for Dolores Claiborne, I'm so behind in videos. you always can make a suggestion even if I take long.@@mclizzard2928
I've watched this movie several times, and someone always says "wait, you're not supposed to move someone after a car accident ". Truth is, you have to do a super quick risk assessment. This was well before people had cell phones, so she'd have to leave him in the freezing cold, find a phone somehow, and wait God knows how long to direct emergency responders to his exact location, where they'd almost certainly find a frozen corpse. Same with fires. You don't leave a victim to certainly burn to death for fear of a neck injury, you drag them out. She was batshit crazy, but she was a trained nurse who (initially) made a proper assessment and response
Kathy Bates has been my favorite actress since this very movie. Stephen King wrote this book basically as a fear of his. Him being the writer & fearing a crazed fan. He then wanted Bates for another one of his book to movie adaptations, Dolores Claiborne. King doea horror & thrillers like no other but some of his best works are non horror, like these ones, Stand By Me (also wrote from his life, he saw a dead body as a child) Shawshank Redemption, & my favorite The Green Mile.
@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy You're very welcome! Yes he has an extensive catalog of work. If you want to see 2 of his best works on film, definitely check out Shawshank Redemption & The Green Mile if you haven't. Both are absolutely perfect pieces of film & if you put a poll up I guarantee your subs will pick them & tell you why. Especially if you like Morgan Freeman & Tom Hanks as most people tend to lol. Both are sort of longer but more than worth the time & because of the stories & acting the time goes quickly anyways. Great conversations to be had in the comments section as well should you react to them❤️
"This lady sure knows how to play crazy." Yes, a brilliant performance, just the right balance, flipping in and out of crazy, struggling to keep a foot in reality. Most actors overdo it and it seems fake. The defining characteristic of psychosis is a fixed obsession. In Annie's case it was Paul, she knew every detail of his life, every word he wrote. You know it's a great performance when you're not sure they are acting. Like Tony Perkins as Norman Bates in Psycho
I am sure every writer or content creator who has made something super popular has worried about getting into this type of situation. I am sure Stephen King has met some off the wall fans of his that inspired Annie Wilkes
1. A mustang isn't a very good vehicle to drive in the snow. 2. Red flag #1: Anyone that says "Oogie" 3. The way she responded to the fire in the BBQ pit when he threw a match on the book: What do you expect? 4. In the book Annie chops his feet off (not just hobbling him). It IS Stephen King after all. 5. Kathy Bates won Best Actress Oscar. 6. Rob Reiner is a great director but, it's too bad he's a CPF.😭🤬 7. King wrote this because of a deep-seated fear of what overzealous fans might do. 8. RIP James Caan 😇
Hey E, this movie is so great, and Kathy Bates was absolutely perfect as the psycho nurse. I really enjoyed this reaction. You've been reacting to some great stuff lately. You know, I write for a newspaper, and some "fans" can be scary. I had one person jump down my throat the other day because I was writing about the homeless situation in New York. He said that I was defending the homeless, but I don't care about the homeowners in the area. He got really nasty, too. You can't please everyone when you write.
Somehow, I missed the second part of your comment? are you a fellow New Yorker? Nice!! you work for a Newspaper?! that's cool. yeah, homeless situation in really bad in NYC. I appreciate your efforts tremendously! those are things I deeply care about. thank you.
@@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy Yes, a fellow New Yorker out of Brooklyn. Thank you for the compliment about what I do. The homeless situation is very bad in NY, and this is due to lack of adequate mental health resources, and basically, the government doesn't care about these people. They see them as less than human, and it's unfair. We are all somebody's child, and how can we expect mercy for ourselves if we don't have that same mercy there for others? I'm so glad you care about the homeless, not many do. Once again, I love your channel. You react to movies that others are not doing.
I'd like to mention, that most of the things you pointed out as either an indication of bad character (the sheriff) or lack of realism were just common differences between living in a city/big town vs. a village/very small town. The sheriff going all in to try to find Paul Sheldon wasn't unrealistic. It's because there was no other crimes happening. Also, the few crimes he would've had to deal with throughout his careers would've probably been minor stuff. Nothing near as dramatic or serious as a potential kidnapping/murder. That's why he performed all those other functions he mentioned in the beginning as well. There isn't enough work to do for multiple people to be dedicated to only one of them. It's also why his "system" was just a corkboard, lol. When the sheriff ran his own stuff through the cash register at the store, that had nothing to do with his position as a sheriff. It's because both him and the store owner likely lived there their whole lives and knew each other very well, cause so few people live in a place like that. It's a way to show the audience "this is how close-knit this community is". I used to do that as a kid in one of my uncle's restaurants here in Denmark. Just grabbed a cola, registered and paid for it myself. It's a trust-thing, not an authority-thing. There was a third thing I wanted to point out as well but I forgot what it was :l Not a criticism, though! I'm definitely subscribing to you. You don't talk over important exposition/events, over-edit or try to use what you're watching as stand-up comedy material (some reactors make lame jokes about eeeeverything in a way that seems forced, whereas you make some humorous comments that come across as natural). Also, you made a good point about his crash not actually looking like it would've caused that kind of damage to his legs. I've watched the movie like 6 times and I've never thought about that, lol.
thanks for letting me know, didn't think about those good points you made. I live in New York City and its so very different. I went to a small-town college on the other side of the U.S., so I do get what you are saying, it's more of a thing of me trying to say what's more entertaining than actually criticizing. thanks for your comment and time. and welcome to my community. Denmark in the house, go Europe!!
@@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy - I can absolutely relate :P Having grown up and only lived in either very small or just somewhat small towns myself, I've had times in the past, where I was confused or even sceptical about certain behaviours/reactions from people in online videos (taking place in a city or large town), only to have someone point out to me, that it's actually totally normal or at least not unusual for city people (whatever it was). I hadn't really considered just how much of a difference it really makes until then. Also, it certainly was still entertaining. Got a chuckle out of me, when you saw the sheriff reading Paul Sheldon's books and was like "alright, he's going down the Misery rabbit hole himself now, chill out man" lmao. Very much paraphrased, but y'know 😄Have a great day/night!

It would have been a good idea to get a search warrant with more than one sheriff but he wanted to be the hero
I think he was the only one on the police force for that town.
Great reaction
thanks, much appreciated.
Great job. Stephen King's one of the best stories. In the book, Anne was 6ft. tall., that is why she was a big girl😊. Poor Shelton.

The reason that she was able to find him so quickly was because she was stalking him.
