1:59 "This ride could use some Rocky Mountain treatment."
Looks like your wish is coming true.
Foreshadowing...
1:58 you just predicted the future!! #psychic
1:58 you predicted the future......
It's nice to have you here in Mexico guys :)
I hurt my neck going into this ride, but still I love it. Also the boomerang from this park
Which is why your video always look amazing and are hands down the best. Sometimes even better than the theme parks advertisements of their own coasters....
LOL You said that this could use an RMC treatment in the video and that's exactly what happened
1:58 ...and that's how they made this a steel coaster.
"I think this ride could use some Rocky Mountain treatment!"
Holy crap Robb, you're psychic!0)_(0
I have. It's kind of like my warped "rating system." If I say that, it translates into "It's not as bad as it could have been!" lol
MUST DO the remake of this, it is AWESOME!
Definitely needs a kiss from RMC. Like the Texas Giant, it was probably fun when it first opened up, but over the years became a fun beating.
R.I.P Medusa
i find it scary that the bars and the structure is made of wood oO surely a real thrill to ride that rollercoaster...
Love the footage from the rear car. Thanks again Robb. You are truly the best when it comes to coaster videos~
Rob/Boston
Just rode The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis yesterday...this coaster is VERY SIMILAR to the BOSS. It has the high banked turns but not overly banked and it has Gerstlauer trains which I LOVE for their ease of loading and unloading. SO WHAT that they have no padding on the seats...at least you're not screwing around with seatbelts which need to be adjusted for each individual rider. The Boss got lots of NEW WOOD over the winter and is running BETTER THAN EVER. Medusa wins for more airtime. .
This actually looks like a pretty good layout. With better non-shaky cars it would probably be fantastic.
The Boss needed something.....if new wood does the trick, then glory be to the coaster gods.
Looks like you guys had an awesome time
I love this one, whenever I go to Mexico this fair is the place to go, I think it's better than Sox Flags Mexico bc of less waiting and it's just better!
This ride should have gotten the GhostRider treatment.
that's why it's now Medusa steel coaster lol
Funny. Six Flags likes to give coasters the same name despite the fact they are totally different coasters. At Great Adventure in NJ, they have a coaster that (was) named Medusa, which is a steel floorless coaster. They have since changed the name of that to Bizarro. At Six Flags in Georgia they have a wooden coaster called Great American Scream Machine. Again at Great Adventure there was a steel looping coaster by the same name. That coaster was recently removed.
back always seems to be more fun. Has that pull and whipping effect.
The feeling is mutual.
Custom Coaster International
CCI is a coaster company started by Denise-Dinn Larrick in 1990.
RMC did such an amazing job
:O La veré. Muchas gracias por la información.
Looks smooth
It is official. Robb Alvey can predict the future.
It was Arrow that was bought by S&S. Some of CCI's engineers continued to work together as The Gravity Group, LLC, a company that has designed coasters such as Hades 360, The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, and many others.
¡ Te vamos a extrañar !
Coming soon: Medusa Steel Coaster!! >:D lml
Screamscape says:
Iron Medusa: Wild rumor time… Screamscape sources tell us that Medusa at SFM may be the next SF coaster to get the Iron Horse treatment. While the coaster really isn’t all that old, the old CCI coaster is in need of some heavy maintenance later this year anyway and SF is rumored to have contracted the job out to the Rocky Mountain Coasters crew who will work in some impressive new improvements to Medusa.
Looks fun!
One of the many RMCs I've seen being built but not yet gotten to ride!
Yep, they sell a a Flash Pass wich allows you to get fast on the ride. This ride is always full specially when they don't run the 2 trains.
At 1:57
Fred Grubb: We got you Robb!
Wow 2913! Thats in a really long time! Idont even ill be alive when they take it down
My favorite wooden coaster!!
I love that song
This is a classic In Mexico :)
If you're referring to the one with the tall drop it's Superman El Ultimo Escape.
OMG that looks so fun :3
You can tell that these are the same guys who filmed Nemesis at Alton Towers because of the 'WEEEEE' and 'Oh Man'
Amo a medusa
No te vayas :'(
me too! I've been praying for a ride like kingda-ka
haha i think you guys should do a list of the most painful rides
best video!
I got on this one in 2015, the tracks were made out of steel. Because the structure is was breaking and that is why they reopened in June 2014.
AngryDRAGON 1967 not necessarily, the whole entire ride was redone by RMC, so its not just the track lol
Tis a shame Six Flags doesn't properly maintain their wooden coasters and have to hire RMC to renovate them to make them usable again.
I know woodies are costly, but comeone some TLC every year never hurt no one. All the money these parks pull in some average re-tracking onlyc osts about $500k to $1,000,000. for an entire ride (See Thunder Run at kentucy Kingdom) Too many woodies defunct in favor of an RMC steel Hybrid and that defeats the purpose.
This thing looked like fun. I bet when it was new it was nice and smooth like most CCI woodies
Medusa no te vayas te amo
Um, no. Not at all. We get permission to film our videos.
Never knew there was a wooden Medusa!
And the rocky mountain treatment was given as asked for.
Well, by next year.
wow, that's in a really long time
OMG THE TAYLOR SWIFT SONG IN THE BEGINNING
Man, this roller coaster gave me headache, pain in the back and in the neck! I would've loved that they would have put a coaster like Kingda-ka instead of "improving" this one
Yes yes. Very fun indeed
Read my comment above about The Boss in St. Louis. With lots of new wood over the winter the thing is running like a brand new ride. I wonder if
the Boss was modeled after Medusa....The Boss has the double-down first
drop and the double helix near the end of the ride which are basically just additions to the already awesome layout that's used on Medusa. In my opinion,Twisted Twins is better than Thunder Run....again,EASY LOADING
AND UNLOADING and a four train operation(2 on each side)
Reminds me of Ghost Rider In Knotts!
It's shaking like goodie right now.
YAY IRON HORSE TREATMENT :D
Hey themepark review the medusa is upgraded with steel and the wonder woman coaster is coming to México so come plz
1:58
Rob thought about it befor it was announced ;)
What a great layout... I'd love to see what RMC could do with it...
look up "balder" liseberg gothenburg sweden, This roller coster looks just like it
I so want to ride this.
It is similar to the ghost ride at knots berry farm
México # 1
Thank God for the RMC revamp lol
este video esta muy bien gravado
My Favorite Ride !!!!
Thats VERY steep holy crap
That was a good ass wooden coaster layout. I wish they had taken better care of the ride instead of RMCing it
The New Medusa its much better!!!!
Yes bit i ride in tris the old and wars scary be cause you can fall in any moment
Was but
Awesome
This roller coaster looks exactly the one I rode in ceader point (please forgive me for my spelling )
The gorgon makes people scream rather than turn to stone nowadays.
The layout looks pretty fun but wow you can just tell how rough it is. When was this Medusa built. It only looks 10 years old give or take. Unless its older but due to lack of rain in Mehico the wood stays newer looking? Anyway would make a great topper and track or hybrid IMO
It was the mexican version of six flags san Antonio "the rattler" now days is a steel coaster too.
all that rattling looks like it could hurt your back haha
It did.
This would make a great RMC 😂
Heyyy theres Derek from the other video haha lol
Yep, it has steel.
Old times.... :')
Um, there's no lack of rain in Mexico City, it rains pretty much all summer long through september.
Nice pov, man! What do you use to record these, a GoPro?
This is my favorite ride ever hahaha. Yeahhhh it IS kinda rough, but hey! what is life whithout a little shaking?
