@@tylerg276 Its a physics engine exploit. Short for Bunny Hopping, since thats alot what its like. You jump, crouch right before hitting the ground, and jump again. This way you collide with the ground, letting you jump, but without actually touching the ground, thus you keep your momentum, and get to build more speed up right away. The more you chain a bunny hop, the faster you go. This is a common glitch in many older FPSs, including HL1 and HL2.
@@mr.mysteriousyt6118 If its a bind, then its not cheating. If his run doesnt match speedrunning rules, it wouldnt be a world record, it would just be a fast, cheated run. Im sure this is a tactic used in other speedruns, and it only seems fishy to you since this is the only one youve seen. But it may not be a bind. There are many incredibly fast button inputs speedrunners need to learn to be top of the leaderboards. Really interesting seeing the outside of the combine transport! I had no idea there was a grenade launcher(?) on top of it that could be interacted with if reached. Congrats on the run btw!
its crazy how you have 2 thousand subs you deserve wayyyy more then that, ive been subbed when you had 500 to 700 subs, basically when you first made boneworks runs and i was entertained and i learned quite a bit from your runs, thanks for making good content.
Imagine being a combine or a headcrab zombie or something and you just see this woman hopping past you at high speeds, sticking her head into walls and doors and then disappearing completely, and all you hear above you is the high speed *thudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthudthud* of her hopping on the ceiling
This is really cool to watch. Personally, I’d be even more interested in watching you attempt a speed run without glitching through terrain and whatnot.
That's literally just playing the fucking game but fast. And if you mess up it would take forever to redo. No one likes speedruns that take a long time
@@sharcc2511 but see the problem with that is it’s really hard to emulate controller inputs to keyboard. For example if I press g on my keyboard, it would click trigger on my controller. For this to work I think you have to emulate controller drivers (I’m not a programmer so if I mess up don’t blame me) in steam vr, but that is ridiculously hard.
@@DDOGT0 A game registers inputs of a device to a key in a line of code, for example, something along the lines of "If telekey press true [teleport start function] If telekey press false && [Teleport function = true] [Do Teleport] So all it has to do is trick the device into thinking that the "telekey" in this case, the trigger, is being pressed and unpressed thousands of times a second, which is very easy to do with a script.
@@sharcc2511 I figured out how to semi-do-it. So, you go to your SteamVR bindings, and go to your valve index joystick that teleports, make a new binding that is a d-pad and then make all the positions teleport. After that, save your binding and rotate your joystick as fast as possible. Because I saw some guy explain how if you click the teleport really fast you can trick the game into teleporting when it’s not supposed to.
I was wondering how you were able to get certain areas to load in while your out of bounds. For example 7:39 (vortigaunt skip) whenever I go out of bounds only a little bit of the surrounding area has loaded in but when you do it it seems like the whole area has loaded in.

IIRC, Phasmaphobia is poorly adapted to VR so most of VR players has motion sickness. Even if standing still
Probably a late comment, but how did you run so fast in Boneworks, and teleport so fast in Alyx?
My setup: HTC + Valve Index Controllers
Im assuming a script to spam the teleport key when he presses a button, since not all keys on the index are used in this game iirc.
