    See my Audi S5 Review here: ua-cam.com/video/sTUJCH-tlX4/v-deo.html
    This review may have come off a little too critical but keep in mind most buyers today will be ordering these vehicles without even test driving it, so I’m just doing my job. I loved driving this vehicle for the week I had it.

    I just bought a 2022 SQ5 Prestige, S Sport Package with Black Optics Package, the Sport Exhaust Tips, and some other badges blacked out, the upgraded Nappa Leather seats, and the 21" wheels, mine is District Green Metallic. Mine was $74,610 MSRP and they did not charge over invoice. I traded my 2021 Acura RDX Base Model. This Audi is perfect for me, I just sold my 2019 Shelby GT350 in November and the Acura was not producing enough horsepower for me. This is just enough for what I need, I have my carbon fiber, and I have my digital dash and a touchscreen! The luxury is amazing and it sits lower than my RDX, I have the air ride suspension. The only thing I would change, is I would prefer the muted gray with the black accents, but this car was built by someone in New Orleans and then they did not want it, so I was able to buy it without having to wait on one being built, so I will deal with the District Green, which I like, just don't love.

    The Sportback is only minimally compromised. Slight reduction in rear headroom, and few cu. ft. off the boot. And it stands out from the boxes of standard SUVs.

    I have been driving a 2021 Audi SQ5 for over 2 years so I want to correct a minor miss in the early part of this video. The carbon fiber is not new to 2022, my 2021 has it. The new option in 2022 is the Audi Sport Exhaust. An option that you can add to have authentic tail pipes instead of the shiny chrome fakes that are standard. And this exhaust sounds much better than the standard. Also I have to respectfully disagree about the ride not being on par with an A5 which I’ve also driven. The SQ5 with air suspension is awesome. I continually drive in Dynamic mode, the lowest and stiffest setting on the air suspension, and a lot of the roads in DFW are not great yet I find the ride to be amazing. This is one of the things I’m very picky about in a vehicle. I’ll grant it’s not floaty, by any means, but it’s never harsh and the driving dynamics and handling are superb.

    • @ManulMom
      @ManulMom Рік тому

      Additionally, the Sport Exhaust can be ordered through Audi and installed by dealer as I had done. I chose the gloss black bc I have black optic package and they look and sound amazing!

      hey thanks so much for sharing this and clarifying. Massive congrats on owning the SQ5! So the model I drove was a 2022 so idk if they made it stiffer for this new MY without disclosing but like you said it’s not unbearable or anything you just notice it. I would still rock this and I would choose it over the BMW X3 M40i.

    I own a 2022 SQ5, fully loaded, sports diff, sport exhaust, air suspension etc. I agree with “manulmom” carbon fiber is not new to 2022 I had this on my 2019 SQ5. All in all great SUV, the combo of air and sport diff ensures its cornering are on rails, not as good as the Macan but a close 2nd. In fact after driving this sq5 for 1 year with the air suspension, and recently having a loner 2023 Q5 for 3 days reinforces why I would never purchase another SUV without Air Suspension. Concerning the review I don’t understand why any comparisons with a sedan re: S4/5 are being made, or any sedan for that matter. A SUV will never ride like a Sedan for obvious reasons, so it’s pretty bush to bring that into the review.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  9 місяців тому

      Wasn't really trying to compare my friend, the purpose of mentioning the S4 & S5 was to provide insight on the fact Audi is capable of producing quick shifting & great riding products just not with the SQ5 I tested here.
      I appreciate this SUV and it's doing a lot of things right. I just don't agree with the air suspension I tested here however, I've recently realized the fact every car is going to drive and feel different even when new and this applies to any brand.
      So now, I care less about how a car drives in a review and I simply tell potential shoppers to do a thorough test drive to make sure they like it. And then I provide resources and research tools to save the maximum money possible because getting the best deal is the most important thing and that is my new emphasis moving forward.
      Thank you and God Bless!

    I have never owned an Audi, I do like the style. If I were to own one, it would be a low mile 2 year old version, resale is an apparent bargain. Then you have to do the why is resale so low equation, usually a good reason exist. I think I'll stick with Lexus and admire the 5 or 6 Audi cars and SUVs on my street from afar. Great review, and people are ordering or buying online without driving. Your doing a public service and giving us great stuff all at once.

I actually did a review on the X3 M40i and the engine/transmission was not as smooth as the M440i coupe I tested. S5 driving better is pure opinion, 100%. You simply cannot be serious when you compare those tiny rubbers to the SQ5 tires, and in addition the SQ5 having Air suspension. That is just pure BS to say it rode better. Transmissions are tuned differently because they are 2 different cars

      But please do not come here trying to slander or discredit the message simply because I was not a cheerleader for your favorite car.
      Cars are not a sports team and they don’t need cheerleading, these are all objective facts but you are entitled to believe what you want.

    I was looking into SQ5's and I agree with the ventilated seats bit. Apparently, you can get ventilated seats with the Warm Weather Package option, but you CANNOT have it with the upgraded Nappa Leater seats (what you have in this car). Sadly, I have no clue why that is. I guess it's cause the Nappa Leather isn't perforated?

      I'm sure both will be costly and consume oil as that seems to be the tendency with these turbo engines but Porsche tends to have great dealer support and you can always pay to have an extended warranty with either one. I personally think leasing and getting a new one every 3 years is the way to go on these. Thanks so much for stopping by my friend!

      I just hate they opted to use so much rubberized and hard plastics where their competitors have gone to soft touch materials with real stitching. I do like that Napa leather is an option on this compared to the competitors fake leather and lower grade leather option. The virtual cockpit, controls and switchgear in this are also superior.

    I really like this suv, but I don't love it. Fake exhaust tips and the lack of ventilated seats on and $80k suv? The Q5 Prestige has ventilated seats as standard but the $15,000 - $20,000 more expensive SQ5 doesn't? How does that make sense. I also think that the SQ5 engineers had trouble figuring out how to ventilate non black leather seats. As if the color of the seat makes a difference.

      @@joshuahunter6913 it really comes down to the specific lease terms. If they offer a very optimistic residual value and a low interest rate then definitely. On the opposite end of the spectrum you have Porsche who tend offer horrible leases with very high interest rates and pessimistic residuals. • @MeynMotorGroup

      Correct Richard, like right now Most Audi leases with good credit is going for around 7% interest rate.

    I got one of these, a 2021 premium plus at $63k. I got it last year right before the shortage. My main gripe is the engine. The turbo lag is pretty bad. So much so that you can't make it through openings on the highway, like you would be able to with an na V8 with the same power numbers. The engine definitely isn't what is call effortless or luxurious. It's more like a sports car engine. The drivetrain in my 2018 grand Cherokee, with the 5.7 hemi and ZF 8 was much more luxurious and effortless. Power was always there and it pretty much never referred above 3k rpms. I much prefer driving my 2016 gs350. It's smoother, quieter, and just nicer to drive. My next SUV will probably be a V8 since it pretty much our last chance to get one before they are extinct.

      Yeah an A6 I rented felt the same way with this engine compared to my stinger.I have a Cx-30 Turbo now and it actually has instant power everywhere--low rpm big torque and also has power after 100 mph--I have vids of me going 100 to 120 mph with no problem.The a6 did get better after premium gas but never felt as fast as my stinger even though they were within 10 HP of each other.I almost got one of these--drove a supercharged one years ago and it felt like it had effortless power everywhere.Stinger had 2 turbos and my mazda has a vane that spins the turbo with air so it does not need to boost up to get power.

      I am also a sport sedan lover--going back to the 90s when folks were getting mustangs and camaros and I had a taurus SHO and an olds Aurora.My last 2 cars were a Honda crosstour--nice balance of sedan and SUV and a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT that I sold simply because its price jumped.I went and boght a CX-30 Premium Plus Turbo and the Stinger might have been my last sedan.These CUV's and Mid size SUVs have gotten way better--handle very good and are now pretty fast for what they are.Sadly not beieng able to see clearly and roads are sometimes imperfect has made me switch to these type of vehicles.I also could have had anything under 70k and considered many of these from SQ5--GV70--Ford explorer ST--Acura RDX Type A and a GLA 45 AMG and a CX-30.I chose to get a CX-30 cause not only was it fantastic--but being so low in price I own it outright and was able to add another 10k to my car bank account which now has over 40k in it.I might splurge next time--but these may be the way to go for a lot of folks.Plus I have a very very curvy road near me where I will shoot a video on my CX-30 taking a 25-30 MPH sweeper at 60 miles an hour--about 90% of the cars limits--and BTW A Honda Type R on this same curve at 60--the front end was pushing and at 60 the tires wera almost squealing--the CX-30 was doing 60 flat and not losing speed and tires were not squealing at all.I was able to take this same turn at 70 in my Stinger--but it shows how much they improved.I believe with bigger tires and better brakes the CX-30 can easily do curvy roads as good as a Type R and I plan on shooting some videos.I reeally believe the CUV sport market--KONA N--MAzda CX-30--BMW X2M--and AMG GLA 45 will be getting a lot of sedan lovers that want an easier and higher ride height.Plus with all the money I saved--I will just rent a track or GT car when I goto the track--usually it is about 1k extra for a weekend course and you have almost a race car and will not destroy your personal car.Kudos--the SQ5 is a very nice vehicle--Audis are pricey and reliability is spotty is why I took it off my list.

    I reckon the pre-facelift model looks a bit smoother. Yeah, those rear exhaust vents were a bit strange, but I think it worked. Not sure what they are going for with this whole aggressive architecture on the current model. These wheels look like something off a Hyundai, Mitsubishi or just any regular brand and their newer models. Too edgy/sharp and modern generic looking. The pre-facelift had some sleek and true looking Euro wheels. I also think the pre-facelift had a better blend when it came to the front end. However I'll say, the current model does have a more modern appeal, which is obviously what they were trying to achieve, but I still think it could have been worked a bit better to suit an SUV format.

    Too much crazy technology, and crazy money in these sport trims and it absolutely terrifies me just THINKING about some of these cars. For European cars, the normal versions worry me a lot less than the “sport” ones like S, M, and AMG. But the thing is… they’re removing naturally aspirated v6/6cylinder engines from more and more normal cars and adding them with twin turbos and extra computers to their sport trims. Either you afford it brand new, or you don’t buy it at all with these sporty versions. With normal BMWs, Mercs, etc. you can buy it a few years old used with little mileage and you expect to have some pricier repairs, but you usually use them as your “fun” car anyways just to have something nice.

    You're so nailing it man. Balanced and frank. Thanks. I'm thinking of this but prefer an SQ5 with open pore wood if that's available but it aint. Carbon fibre is too common.

      Glad you enjoyed my friend and yes unfortunately they don’t give any options for wood trim in 2022.

    bro, discount what? I got 600$ discount buying the 2023 model because I was force to have a 360 camera. I can managed to use that credit to change tire 5 times ffs

      Oh the stick up screens yea all these companies do that to save money and create space in the interiors. I prefer this to the dual screen thing they are starting to adopt

      Idk it’s a common misconception that you have to be rich to afford nice cars. Cars are so obtainable in the States with all the different avenues of buying, financing, leasing and when it comes to selling car max offers good money for trades, you can sell under consignment, swap a lease. So many ways to not loose on cars I’ve had many new cars it’s a non issue just do more research

      Macan S is like 70-75k with options..more but not $20k more essentially you’re paying to get the better transmission

    This body style is very tired and looks old . Q5 has looked the same as 2012 $70,000 is excessive especially for the poor reliability and expensive maintenance. Fiber trim lol lipstick on a pig

    Hi, Does S sport package really make a difference? Can we buy one without S sport package? @MeynMotorGroup

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Рік тому

      Do you mean SQ5 vs a Standard Q5 or do you mean if an SQ5 with the additional sport package is worth it? I talked about it in the video, this SQ5 is a great vehicle overall and the s package on top of the SQ5 would not be necessary

    • @SAITEJA.A
      @SAITEJA.A Рік тому

      @@MeynMotorGroup Yeah I was talking about sport pack on top of sq5. I could find lot of pre certified models without additional sport package.
