+Sam Liz Me too! Unfortunately, every time a try to take a woman to see an animated film I'm met with blank stares and awkward silence. You guys go well together. Kudos.
+this name means nothing i was just forced into making it to have a channel here Some women will definitely act too high and mighty for a kids movie. Men too.
I'm very touched at the sentimentality of decor in the man cave. It's sweet. When you find your "soulmate" or whatever you want to call them, it's special. That's awesome that your man cave has reminders of your journey with Sam as well as a bunch of really cool nerd stuff. 😊
+DownTheSidelineFor6 because he probably spends more time in the basement and dont want to be disturbed while watching movies...i am like that too...you dont simply disturb someone while he/she is watching a movie...
This is amazing from top to bottom! You can really tell that this stuff matters to Chris, and these items are here because he loves them rather than to impress other people. (I'm still monumentally impressed, of course!)
Chris is like the COOLEST guy, A lot of the stuff he has in his 'man'-cave is not there just because its cool but because it gives special romantic meaning and is an expression of his loving relationship. I wish I could even be a sliver like you, man.
I don't get jealous easily. That TV really did it though. I hear the words "LG..." I'm like psh so? Then you say, "65 inch" and I'm like, "mine's a 60, so what?" then you say, "OLED" and I got lightheaded. I'm fucking pissed. So I pretty much hate you now. You'll have to review Nightmare Before Christmas this coming holiday season to make it up to me. it BETTER be good!
pewol Nah, that didn't do it for me. 4K doesn't really do anything for me either. 1080p is plenty good for me. (for now) OLED is amazing to me. That's what I want. I have a plasma which is pretty comparable. I am just waiting on the price to go down on OLED. I care way more about the colors and contrast than the resolution. I disagree with Chris about film grain. I turn off everything on my TV that "helps" the image. All that shit is nonsense to me and is a waste of someones time for having come up with the technology.
u and the other thousands of people who click and watch his videos pays him Money to afford all that junk. just keep that in mind. he's living of us just to sit all day and watch and review movies doing basically nothing. be mad at that.
Watch some classic Criterion Collection films on Bluray on that big screen. Personal recommendations: Seven Samurai, Sword of Doom, Tokyo Story, The Red Shoes, Seventh Seal, Black Narcissus, Modern Times, Paths of Glory, Harakiri.
+brian0918 Agreed , but on the last Blu-ray update it seemed like most of his collection were modern films. Maybe he just doesn't like the technological disabilities of classic cinema or doesn't like the aesthetic filmic look. My personal Criterion recommendations by the way (others than those mentioned): Blow Out, Don't Look Now, The Killing, Foreign Correspondent, Scanners and The Brood.
+brian0918 You're right, those movies are cinema perfection (especially Tokyo story) and the criterion blu rays look spectacular, I have a 2013 sony full hd, so I can only imagine how those movies would look in an oled 4k XD
Awesome tour Chris, I've been watching your videos for a while but I haven't subscribed to your channel until now, this video was what made it for me, you are really a genuine dude and kind to your viewers, I appreciate that and I can relate to many of the things you say, thanks for sharing this video with us man :)
im not usually a mushy person. but having the hotel Transylvania poster from your first date. and also the skyfall poster from your wedding song. that is amazingly heartfelt and adorable.
You haven't experienced Jurassic Park until you've enjoyed it with a capable surround system. We're talking about a reference DTS Master Audio HD mix here. You need to get the full Blu-ray experience, dude! Picture quality is only half the story!
@@lukestamp6082 I've got a mancave. It's called my entire house. His mancave has a reading nook for his wife and she designed half of it. This pure cringe lol.
Thanks for the personal introduction of your 'man cave'.... very cool. Keep doing what you do Chris. You're my first go-to for reviews and I thoroughly enjoy all your comments!
Love the 'man cave' :) This the the type of one I hope to have in the near future. My parents owned an old movie theatre and I also feel the nostalgia for theatre memorabilia. We still have the old 40's freestanding popcorn machine. The LED lighting down the stairs is a great touch. Also, amazing tv dude
Thank you so much for sharing this most awesome and most cherished part of your world! My Man Cave is so important to me, too, and your's is awe-inspiring. Like always, you rock, Chris!
Chris, just a side note, that's Naked Snake, aka Big Boss, from Piece Walker. So not Solid Snake, but as you might remember, his "father" 😆 Also, loved this tour, wish we could have more of it 😊
Zen Razor I disagree. The plot is all over the place and the character development is eeeeeeh. From childhood view its fun to watch but being objectively critical its not great.
***** I haven't seen it in years but essentially it's still a fun watch. Rurouni Kenshin is an all around better anime possibly my favorite of all time.
THAT IS AWESOME! i find it really inspiring and dedicative all that appreciation put in your movies collection. I myself have a hard time with buying and finding all of those collection gems specially in my country and situation, but i still find it exciting whenever it comes to the idea of setting up yourself a "Man Cave" by yourself. Thanks Chris for sharing this. BTW: I Saw FLCL in your anime corner. That's Awesome.
cool tour. awesome tv (crown jewel is an apt description) and great background stories to all your posters and collectibles. I am glad you and your wife share so many interests. nice lights on the stairs, too.
Chris that was awesome. But I'm a big audio guy along with movies and other nerdy things. do you have surround sound or a sound bar? Or just the oled? Thanks again for the video
There used to be a HUGE store on Pier 39 in San Francisco where they sold those Halloween themed miniatures your wife has. She would've gone crazy in the place as that was *half* of the store! The other half was of Christmas themed miniatures and the like.
+Staf MF Its a media room to be honest. We share the space pretty equally. I just happen to have more books then what fit in the book shelves in my bedroom.
