As a recovering single man, I can relate to a significant other not liking fragrances you like/love. For me, it was pretty much every one. Love that Noir Ambre! Ex thought it was too strong. And that’s after she just smelled it from the atomizer lol.
Ya when it comes to all three kf these Jen isn’t the biggest advocate but noir Ambre if I spray it and stay away from her for ten min she always says I smell great
See I find all 3 of those situational lol. All three are really personal enjoyment scents in the USA at least. I don’t know many people outside of frag comm that want to smell them on a regular basis while I love oud wood I wear it for myself
I like all three of those, need to wear them more often this winter. Vanilla Oud is definitely situational, you can’t wear that to work, or I wouldn’t anyways. I don’t know how I would rank them because they are all really good. I think it’s hard to get the Issay because it’s discontinued I believe. I think I’ll wear Noir Ambre tomorrow. I got it this past summer so haven’t really worn it out, I remember it was a love at first sniff though.
I just ordered vanilla oud yesterday ! I was gonna decide from this and gris charnel ! But I heard vanilla oud was wearable as a work scent just in the cooler months ! Which would you have chosen between the two ?
I have not smelled any of these so can't weigh in. I will say I agree with your feelings about Ani. I wasn't impressed with it at all. In the opening it I got hints of Layton dancing around the edges of the fragrance but after the dry down hit I was just like Meh would much rather be wearing Layton.

Totally get that I'm in the minority on this, but I am not yet a fan of Vanilla Oud. It is just overwhelmingly powdery to me. If that were dialed back like 70%, I would be more on board. That being said, it gets a universally positive reception, so I get I am on my own island with it. I sadly find it to be chokingly powdery unfortunately.

It is for a designer for sure but when u smell it next to vanilla oud it’s miles different

Vertus Vanilla Oud is in my top 10. I don't really find it any more situational than Oud Wood or Carved Oud. Just my opinion.

Great battle but man Noir ambre just hits different from the rest. That with Luminous night are my two favorite cool weather designers
It really does I am so happy I got it just in time thanks to Eddie sending me a decant right when it was being discontinued

Before I watch the video, my order would Vanilla Oud, followed very closed by Noir Ambre (my SOTD, BTW) and then Stronger With You Oud.

So both have their ups and downs and both are situational but I’d have to give the edge to vanilla oud
