So going into this video I knew nothing about Noita, I was as blind as Oliver, and watching the video, literally every time I involuntarily glimpsed at chat (because it was moving in the corner of my eye) I read something spoilery. So after about ten minutes I decided to cover that corner of the screen with a folded napkin. That was very effective, very much recommend. With no chat on screen, this stream was so much fun, I'll definitely going to play Noita myself now. And I implicitly trust Oliver's community's taste in games now too, every single one has been either an absolute banger or one of my favorites already
Well that's the deal with Oliver's livestreams, he won't read chat so chat is allowed to talk about spoilers. It's really nice for a change. Perhaps best to watch game series you've already played especially since a lot of the games he's recently played have been knowledge-based and they're all very good unique titles.
I did similar when watching Tunic. Was playing at the same time so I wasn't too worried about what he'd find but didn't want to see chat. opening a tiny window for file explorer and putting it over chat worked for me.
The: "Dude, it's been four and a half hours?!" is fuckin' me every time I play Noita. I can lose a whole day to it easily if I'm not careful... not that I bother to be careful for that when I've got the time to kill!
Was super fun to watch thank you!! Laughed at your love of explosions a lot. Great to see people's first experiences, especially since I only watch my family play usually and don't understand too much of this game. It was like diving in with you, and gave me more understanding for how everything works thanks to your inquisitive mind!
...Those opening images are apparently inspired by a traditional Karelian and Finnish collection known as _the Kalevala,_ full of heavily folklore/mythology focused epic poetry. In fact, much of the game is based on concepts from those stories, though I don't know _all_ the details... ...I won't say _what_ the opening was actually was supposed to mean, however. I'll leave that mystery to you, until it's over.

2:03:06 Oliver moment when he encounters a big tube of water (2:00:18), ignores it, then finds the smallest puddle in the whole mines and decides to switch his potion for that water
3:19:50 I would love to know, what about the name "horizontal barrier" made you wonder if it would go vertical, but I love the Noita'd moment nonetheless :D
HOLY SHIT NOITA, didn't join the stream cause I thought it was Undertale and needed to watch the previous vods I missed, wish I had been there, damn Edit: Just listening to him play and hearing in his voice how much he's loving it makes me smile so much, I love this game and I love Oliver, great personality
And yet, he takes one look at the teleportatium under the portal and goes "I bet that makes the portal work". His brain is truly min-maxed and it's glorious
As a person that absolutely loves Project Zomboid; I downloaded Noita #1 and started playing it upon seeing you create a video for it so that I could get ahead of what I would see and it has been awesome so far. I am absolutely addicted to it right now. In kind, I think you *MUST* play Project Zomboid. I would love to see you reactions to it. Without even getting into mods or possible updates, the depth of the game is simply amazing... like Noita... but in a different way. An Oliver survival strategy would be really fun to watch.
oliver almost never looks at chat and when he does he says so beforehand so it gets cleared. why is it an issue if some of them vent their frustrations since it won't spoil him anyways?
Oliver: "I'm going to try really hard not to lose health early this time" Also Oliver 5 seconds later: "I'm pretty sure last time I kicked this box, it exploded instantly... I'm going to try kicking it again!" A good summary of this playthrough so far lol edit: Bruh i think that spark timer spell moment was the most painful thing ive ever seen in this game, what the hell man? the one spell youve used this whole time and you still didnt see how you changed it? XD
@@spacelover4106 and his viewing numbers on their are way better than youtube just look at the 1st undertale stream. out performed anything hes done on here. and to think some goofball on discord was saying streaming on twitch cost him viewers lol
Streaming on Twitch is much more convenient for me, so for now I will keep streaming there. If things change in the future, who knows. Also, phone number verification has been turned off for a week. I just double checked, and it's still turned off.
having grown up in the 80s ive seen the graphical progression from atari and commodore graphics to nes to the modern era where everything either tries to be an interactable cartoon or hyper realistic. so going back to stuff like this or rainworld is hard for me. though at least with these style games they can run on even the worst of hardware today and still have better performance than the old school consoles which could barely even have 12 things on screen
Noita is still very taxing even on the lowest settings, and even on my old 2005 acer laptop it ran at 40 fps instead of 60, which meant the game was playing at 2/3rds speed from the start. By the time I beat the dungeon I was playing at 30 fps, half speed. It's cool to have this increased reaction time, but it makes the game very tedious.
That is kinda true, the chat on the side just ruins it, from subtle spoilers to reactions and other individual chats, maybe if Oliver could put it on a different screen but I don't think he could or would do that. It just makes you less experience the game. Thing is Oliver can do what he wants and if it's like this for like 3 or so video recently, I'm pretty sure he made his decision to keep the chat there and stream on Twitch :/
Some light spoilers for this: I don't think he knows about it, and it's not meant to be played by everyone anyway. It's a somewhat obscure secret route where you have to intentionally go out of your way to play the game in the worst way possible, and your only reward is 2 brutally difficult boss fights and an ending that punishes you for your actions. The only reason everyone even knows it exists is because the internet made it extremely difficult NOT to know about it. I don't expect him to find all the secrets in Noita either (especially considering this game can be downright sadistic when it comes to secrets)
@@nts0n The reason i ask is that not continuing because you want to leave the play-through as natural as possible and not continuing something you'd like to have more of because you don't know you can are two very different but identical-looking things
@@chri-k Yeah, that's fair. I view it sort of like Inv in Rain World though, most of the people who play the game will only ever experience it vicariously through others, or not at all. Though it's less of a funny shitpost obviously, and Oliver loves lore so he might do it regardless of whether or not it's fun to play.
omg. i stopped watching the chanel after your rw streams ended, only to find out NOW, that after fear you played inscryprion, undertale and noita. wtf man
Oh uhm, I've not watched your channel in a bit but I have to say the chat being integrated is terribly distracting. I really don't get it. What's the point of having it? It's just awful, constantly moving, brightly colored noise in a corner, I'm sad because I really love and have played a ton of Noita and I'm not sure I can focus on what you're doing!

This game is the most demon thing that the people of Finland have to offer. True knowledge is waiting
What about Overkill
what about hypermurder
What about excessdeath
I mean, SCP:CB was made in Finland and so was Control, and those two are _literally_ demon, so i disagree.
