The deceleration alone is only a mere -2.5 g, going from 99kmh to 50 in 30 frames, which would be 1 second as it's 30fps video. However, the car starts to turn 90° at 99kmh, though straightening out at 83kmh. The peak G forces, from the 99kmh turn according to my calculations.... is around 160 g.
A 75 g sudden impact will highly likely kill a man. Now at 160 g, you can't die twice... but you can be turned into soup.

Yes, it's pretty bad, with they could do something about it.
The turn seems too steep. And wheels seems just following the car’s movement, not really guiding the car to turn. Very awful indeed.

0:17 always hated the 2009 pitstops. The stops took so long and even when the crew were done you would still be held for a good extra 3 seconds.
It was because of the refuel (although there was no refueling animation shown in the game)

@@Moerfel fair enough, but I remember seeing the animation when I used to play the game and they would finish refuling, wait for about a second and to then release you. This really annoyed me, and in the video he has not got fuel usage on. What I am trying to say is that as soon as the put crew are done, refuling ect, the game will keep you in the pits for a good second or more and then release you.
I'm still playing F1 2009 nowadays with my old Wii and I confirm that even with the refuel animation you're stuck in the pit for 2-3 extra seconds for no reason.

Huge graphical improvement every year. The leap from 2009 to 2010 alone is very impressive.
The only one game developers that not dare improve is Milestone
F1 2009: PSP, Wii
F1 2010: PS3, X360, PC
From 1990 to 2000 was the biggest improvement in graphics in history. Nothing today beats it.

Laurin Hill that’s because the entry animation doesn’t change when there are other cars in boxes right next to them. If the steering was smoother and they moved into the boxes less steeper, then if there was a car in the box right next to theirs they would crash. So they just use the same entry so that won’t happen

What the hell happened to 2010, the snap just made it look so obnoxious from it's 2009's predecesor...
2009 was just for the Wii. From 2010 onwards it was for multiple plattforms so they were able to improve the graphics

I can't believe how bad the 2009 game looked. I mean it was like 10 years behind the rest of the world in terms of graphics. Crysis came out 2 years earlier LOL.
The Microprose GP3 of 2000 season has better graphics than this 2009 game

luca_tale go look for f1 Grand Prix and you will see that a 2005 F1 game had better graphics on the psp than F1 2009
Plus, the AI in hard mode is just too easy to beat. I mean, I got pole with Alonso easily thanks to KERS advantage, and in race, I was able to extend the lead over time over the likes of Button and Vettel.
In the 2009 game 0:18 I was expecting him to say ‘thank you for choosing farrari’

For a game made in 2009 it’s pretty detailed for the pit stop, maybe they could’ve put more work onto adding people actually changing the front wing but overall it’s pretty good

I feel like the animations took a steep decline after 2012. Seriously, how hard can it be to animate a car realistically in an F1 game.

Intel Mate, I know that it is difficult I’ve worked on game design before, but my point is that they have done it well in the past, so why the huge step backwards? And then there’s the fact it is a racing game; they’ve done all the work to make the driving realistic, surely a cutscene animation would have been mastered by now, after 10 years.
I’m not sure what you’re seeing wrong with them. The movement is robotic, but so are the real crew’s moves. I guess they could motion capture a real pit crew. For me no matter how good animation gets humans never look right. I think it’s built into us to recognize an imposter in nature and there are very subtle movement clues that will always set that off. For example there are CGI animals that have totally fooled me. But never a human, even in the best movies something puts them in the uncanny valley. As far as the car movements? They are a bit jerky I guess. I think the AI just takes over the game instead of them being theatrical cut scenes. Maybe they just don’t think they are that important. Or it’s for proper race timing. I never have watched that close, it’s always time for cookie or some water. Or for Kimi his “trink bottel”.
@@goobytron2888 honestly the Pit crew animations are more than fine. It's the snap the car does to enter the Pit that sucks.

Dorl Aretz the best at the time. We also hadn’t had an official F1 game for 3 years and it was a good marketing ploy by Nintendo with it being exclusive to the Wii and then selling another attachment for the controller with the F1 style steering wheel

The jump from F1 2009 to 2010 was gigantic. 2009 looked way older as it should be. But they didn't manage to fix the ridiculous hard, snapping corners when entering and exiting the box.
When i played F1 2001, there were no pitstops haha, i always dreamt of to do a pitstop!
