Right now I don't have as much time as I would like to sit down and record, so sorry about video delays! Lots of real life stuff I'm sadly having to work through right now but I am trying my hardest to get some recording done and plan on getting back on schedule pretty soon! So expect FtD, Terratech & Stellaris to be back on track and normally uploaded somewhat soon along with a few random other games I want to start covering!! Thanks all for your patience! :D

Blood for the blood god
"For as long as there have been civilizations, there was stone. The first friend of all civilized intelligences, the first and most important foundation of all things important and necessary. Pity, that the sapients never see that the very stones they rely on can betray them.
Time, even when crystalized like the crystal dew of the dark metal webs of our home, always go forward. As time goes on, stone withers and erodes...as time goes on, the dust of withered stone turn into new stone. As time goes on, the new stone stirs...and as new stone stirs, so too, does time stir. But stone, old or new, never hates...only understands, and pities.
All come from the dust of their world, and to dust all return. And from dust come new stone...forevermore."
yes
That does sound like a damn nice oath of allegiance to the stonefolk of greed :>
Jukantos
I, for one, welcome our new stone overlords
Really nice
I prefer "Your organs will be spiders!"
You have a half-breed named half-greed. This makes me smile.
Bringers of stone sounds like a drug seller name
They've got all the good stuff.. exotic gases, rare crystals and volatile motes! ;-)
@Bookoo don't know about that stuff.. but give some of this Dark Matter a try!
@Bookoo zro is actually a drug.
We birng the water pot and heater the stoners boil their rock in our special water..... wtf did i just type out
He’s bringing the white crystals, the stones.
Zombi-Rock-Spiders
dat crawls into the ear and eat the brain... What the hell! NO Lathrix Nooo
Actually that's the backstory for my own current necrophage playthrough. For the backstory I'm doing an earth-gone-wrong scenario where a slug that was present for the Trinity test during the Manhattan Project was granted strange abilities and so crawled into the scientists ear and ate their brain, taking over the body. This is actually the first time I've played the game using the Sol system as my starting point. Additionally, I got the Horizon Signal, so now it's a crapload of tomb worlds, and I just turned Venus into an Ecumenopolis. I went with the "Manhattan Hierarchy" for the name.
Enjoy your slug based nightmare tonight. You're welcome.
@@avder42 i hate you
@@avder42 so... you've just made illitid?
@@TheArklyte I don't know what that is. If it has anything go do with looks, I just went with the necroid portrait that looks like a corpse stuffed into a space suit.
I kicked the galaxies ass but when the Contingency showed up in 2377 I realized I made a fatal error... I'd left crisis strength at 1x instead of upping it to 10 like I usually do.
@@TheArklyte Alright just looked it up and no, I did not do that. In my back story the worm crawls in the ear, eats the brain and takes its place while retaining all knowledge the brain had, while the body becomes a literally walking corpse that is then placed in an exoskeleton. Also I went biological ascension, from what I read psionic would be needed to reach mindflayer level stuff.
haha, ded crab, whatcha gonna do?
wai-WAIT NO STAHP DONT EAT MYLEGOHMYGOD
It said 6-15 years but he ate it in 10 minutes
why would it eat lego?
@@michaelp1269 read it as eat my lego. was even sadder :'(
@@martinkanchev7569 now im crying
26:40 Yep, it's a known bug that raiding bombardment doesn't abduct pops if they would be Necrophage-purged. Hopefully Paradox gets a fix out in the next patch release reasonably soon, since the fix is a one-liner.
Paradox is well-known for their swift and efficient bug-fixing. lol
An offering to the mighty algorithm... Bestow this creator a place of honor in The Great Sorting
For the algorithm
Hurrah
HURRAH! For the algorithm!
Fear the algorithm!
Praise be the Almighty Algorithm. Long may it Sort.
Lathrix: Hi we're face eating stone spiders
Galaxy: Oh no
Lathrix: Now were making xenomorphs
Galaxy OH NO
Me building mega fleets: *energy disappears*
Lathland building mega fleets: *energy intensifies*
No but seriously how does he get so much energy while having these giant super fleets!!!
Most people tend to play the game in a bunch of phases. Phase 1, grab territory. Phase 2, Make an economy. Phase 3, make a fleet and go to war. That sort of approach is good but it's not ideal. It's much better if you manage everything side by side, so you're grabbing territory, building economy and fleet at the same time which means you can essentially play it by ear and build resources which you're lacking long before you're actually lacking them.
could always build a dyson sphere and just let it power your fleets!
He actually does not have many fleets, they are just upgraded out of the wazoo and that gives them more fleet power than they deserve. There's no way you could do anything with 1330 naval capacity in 2360 otherwise.
But honestly, I'm amazed myself how with something like 15 alloys/month he can build 20k fleets in early game. Buying them from the market will drive the price bonkers.
This set up allows the creation of the perfect leaders. I can finally control the population of my primary species and create the perfect cast system.
33:36 This is actually a feature that gets turned on with researching Glandular Acclimation. Before you have that tech, you just get your necrophage species' normal habitability, after it, each ascended pop has a habitability preference for the world they were ascended in.
Crazy idea:
Next run, dance-obsessed aliens from Algol.
They got that Algol Rhythm!
"Not completely parasitic" That's a compliment I would give my ex.
Lathland = uses x1 primitives and gets several within the first 50 years.
Me = Has it set to x3, finds 5 primitives in a 1000 star galaxy. Be cause... of course...
Gotta keep these 1 hour play through going, love ya lathrix
I love this long game short format by the way, it's just so enjoyable to watch
"your weak, i'm strong, I may eat ya, who knows!" - lathrix at some point in 2020
Listening to this at work
Weeding out gardens was never more fun
FYI, dont synthetically ascend. It breaks the necrophage mechanic.
Out of curiosity, how specifically? Because I can think of a few ways it *could* break it.
@Internet Entity that would do it. Yikes.
@@notaprinny I see others answered and I dont know if the buildings become completely unusable but just thinking about it, you would no longer have a necrophage species after becoming synthetic, you lose the trait if I recall. And you no longer have the feeder species as they are synthetic as well. Even if you managed to get some pops through migration or some trick, the growth would be so slow at that point that after ten years all pops would go to your necrophage species, which would then assimilate. And I doubt that would be worth it. But it would be cool if only the main species assimilated and you kept all of the lesser races. Like it disabled building your main species from assembly plants and those kept only building robots. It would be unique and possibly a way t play synthetic that wasnt as op.
YAS!!
Actually got real excited when I saw this in my subs feed.
Your Stellaris vids are excellent, and always make my day. :)
Lathland: You silly people!
Empire that was friendly: Alright now that hurt >:(
Rock spiders crawling up into noses and eyeballs ...
It makes my skin c r a w l
Love this content, love that you love making it. Keep it coming : )
My head-canon for my playthrough was the slave race was mostly allowed to live their "first life" normally and then got to live a longer "Second life" as a living memory crystal. It was considered an honor.
I have watched every one of these long videos to the end, I find these really relaxing and entertaining! Hopefully you can make these work and that they don't hurt the channel, will continue to drop likes on these to help lessen the effect of algorithm
This, he gives us 95% of the fun of playing Stellaris without the lag/busywork.
Stellaris campaign asmr is an actual genre now lol
I fall asleep listening to your stellaris content. It's so chill while still being interesting enough to keep me listening. Thanks man!!!
imagine your species being a play on words of a tombstone.
One empire trait that I have found to go great with necrophage is being a barbaric despoiler. build up your empires pops by raiding so that you grow and everyone else is in a constant state stagnation.
It's always awesome to watch these videos! So many nice ways to play I didn't think were really possible and proven wrong each time... With necrophage I wasn't even able to get a satisfying build going for me, but the xenophobe ethic really makes so much sense
Really love these long format videos! Keep 'em coming
I love that you're doing these big playthroughs, it must take you ages and a lot of dedication to have learned the game to the extent you have. Here, have a comment and a like on your video to show that I would like to see more of these Stellaris videos from you, Lathrix.
Love your videos Lathland! Keep up the great work, and stay safe.
Commenting for the algorithm once again. Love these full playthroughs, amazingly therapeutic and relaxing!
Lath, I love your videos, I love watching them while I play Stellaris! Thanks for making them!
Good stuff, love these videos. I had a go with this build on release day and had some issues until I had robot plants.
I love watching your Stellaris videos so much. And I really enjoyed this one. Thanks!
More of the quality lathrix content I know and love!
It's a good day.
The way Lath says 'click' 16:20, I'm imagining doing that and spawning potatoes. Gods but quarantine does weird things to the brain.
Floofy rocks. Awesome. And the eat your brains to convert you into themselves. Even better. And even better again, it's a lathrix full playthrough video, the best kind of video. I will watch all the ads all the way through, just in case it helps someone somewhere.
Your stellaris vids are the reason i subscribe to your channel.
I always look forward to more of them.
To be honest I didn't thought this would be so engaging till I was nearly at the end of the video and saw on the timer that this video was 1 hour long. This truly surprised me and I enjoyed it.
Yaass i love these! And you get extra watch time outta me cause I usually end up replaying them like six times because I always fall asleep and then have to rewatch it to find out what happened. xD (Falling asleep during the vid is a compliment, btw. I have insomnia and your vids are chill enough to distract my brain and let me drop off).
I want "It's a good day to be a stone spider." on a t shirt.
You finishing off the gray tempest so quick like that was disgustingly beautiful to watch..
Didn't have this shown to me until right now, which is strange considering these are some of the few videos I actually watch all the way through.
I think you should play a stellais run with seven empires based on the seven deadly sins, and you are a good empire trying to help them become good, without being corrupted or conquered by them.
Seven Deadly Sins versus the federations of The Seven Heavenly Virtues.
Greed would have to be a hostile megacorp.
Wrath: fanatic purifiers,
Gluttony: devouring swarm,
Sloth- keepers of knowledge,
Pride - holy guardians,
Envy - military isolationist,
Lust - uhhhhhh ... synths? You know that's how they'd originate. Either that or the enigmatic observers.
@@BobMcBobJr Lust would be fanatic assimilators or the one that keeps organic pets.
Wouldnt work AI would kill each other before you could do anything
Fantastic video, love the full playthroughs
For the algorithm!
Love seeing more Lathland Stellaris!
Awesome. You are the best Stellaris playtrougher.
DAMNIT ALGORITHM, why did it take two whole days for me to find this video??!!
I've been waiting for this!
glad to see that you keep pushing stallaris :)
Just got notified! First time I used notifications
Thank you for all the work that you do for us
I don't even play Stellaris anymore but I enjoy your videos about it a lot.
Love the videos, love the content! Keep up the great work.
My reaction to the L-Gate’s event being the Gray Tempest was the same as yours Lathrix xD
Also, please keep up with making great videos
I love what you do!
Thank you for being you
really entertaining video. keep up the good work !
Yes! Finally some good stuff to watch for today!
I'm always happy to see these videos.
I love these videos, they don't feel like they are over an hour long
Thank you for all your hard work!
Can you imagine how depressing there city’s will be towers of stuff owned by stolen people
Lathrix - “I will send some Greeds to rule over them.”
Here I thought Greed was ALWAYS in charge!
Been looking foward to this!
An easy way to set things up with Nerve-Stapled Jeffs is to have Spiders as Leaders, Jeffs NerveStapled as Workers, and then DroidBots as Specialists. You can specialize each type and keep everything orderly and double-dip on growth with Jeffs and building Droids
The Raiding stance is actually so powerful with necrophages that I actually took Barbaric Despoilers as a Civic. Stole three HUNDRED pops off someone during a war the other day. It was my vassilization targets ally, and I needed something to do while waiting for my wargoal score to tick positive. My unemployment went through the roof. Just have to remember to wait to set them to undesirable until after you're done raiding, as anything set to undesirable just gets killed instead of stolen. I hope they adjust that with the raiding stance.
finally have the time to watch this video, already love it!
I've got a suggestion for another run. It could work in a full playthrough or episodic style. So basically you take your planet protectors idea from a while ago and create the antithesis. The empire would be void dwellers and they think the planets are demons or something like that (lore can be just about anything). They would only live in habitats, ring worlds, tomb worlds, or worlds that will undergo the arcology project very soon after colonization. Again all of those are just base ideas that can be heavily changed to fit the lore you create. The only other thing I would add is the main goal of the empire is to crack all gaia worlds with the colossus. They utterly despise those worlds. Im open to all criticism, but I think this idea has a lot of potential.
Just noticed that the name of the event where you choose your first Colossus type has the same name as the first stage of Halo CE mission Two Betrayals =o gotta love this game
Loving the playthrough buddy
Your vids are a great inspiration for my own playthroughs
Earlier when i was playing i found a primitive planet with 26 pops, it was extremely usefull
Keep up the good work Lathrix!
M. Night Shyamalan upon seeing the title: Write that down, WRITE THAT DOWN!
I had the idea of a species so technologically advanced, they made like a super star, triple the size of the largest recorded, and built their ENTIRE civilization around it. It’s got giant ass claws and portals to grab planets and feed it to the sun
really love your video style. keep at it.
"then we'll go to war withthe consumer goods" i love lathrix!
Comments for the algorithm god, likes for the youtube throne, milk for the khornflakes.
Praise be the Lathrix, may it help your fight against the youtube algorithm.
love you lathland keep em comin
The parasite worms were bad enough, but the concept of rock spiders drilling into your brain is utterly terrifying.
Really liking these videos!
Yay long playthrough video! :D
Oh so looking forward to this. This gonna be gud.
I love your playthroughs💜
loves your stellaris series bud
I still want to see him do another run through with giga-structures. He only barely tapped into the things he could do.
I love the long format videos so (insert engagement here)
Thanks for that nightmare back story. I hate it. Won’t sleep now.
Well, watched this twice. Now back to watching the Impossible Run!
i didn't think I needed the lithoids pack until I saw them played as necrophage
so basically that B horror flick 'splinter'
I'm churning through these videos.... i have no idea if they increase or decrease my productivity! ...... well its like listening to a background conversation at work.
Yay! New Lathrix Video!
Amazing job Lathrix
a lythoid version of the scourge. very very lovely.
you could also try doing these with people :V . I love it thanks for the video :3
I was expecting this, thanks!
Yeah the raiding bombardment not taking undesirables is a feature and intentional if I recall correctly.
I guess it would be a nice adjustment to make the necroid transformation purge type an exception.
