Hi and welcome to the channel
the last couple of videos have documented how we have replaced the cambelt on our selfbuild vw crafter campervan and the effort involved in just getting to the point where we could change the cambelt, now that's all complete it's time to start putting the jigsaw back together again and start the front end rebuild by fitting the cooling system

Stumbled across your website looking for info on cam belt change. Brilliant info on the job. There was no info on crafter builds when doing mine 4 years ago. Thanks and shall watch some more.

Hello sam can you tell me why when i took the radiator of my crafter van i put it flat on the ground now i have fitted it back on the van the fan is on all the time i was told the radiator has a coolant oil in it my van now has the fan on all the time why is this many thanks paul

Hi, great vids, just done my own cambelt and water pump, followed your vids. Did you get any issues when filling the coolant back up. I seem to have a airlock in the heater matrix and cant shift it....any tips, oh I dont have a vacuum filler :(

Yes we did its a common issue don't worry 😁👍
So disconect the expansion bottle from the slam panel an lift it as high as you possibly can secure it in place with a bungee cord and then run the van up to temp this should help clear the issue

On looking at it more today I found that the expansion tank was staying cool for a long time so checked the return from the top of the rad and engine and was getting nothing, found that there are some none return valves in the pipes, both were shot, one was letting a little through and also flowing backwards and the other was has completely had it with no flow..Edit, new return pipe fitted and all good, it also lowered the running coolant temp 🙂
