I work for both and the great thing about is your wait time is less
Great advice. I have all three in NYC. Less down time on slow parts of the weekdays.
Great tips. I'm in the houston area and signed up for both. Not sure when I'll be able to do it but I still wanna leverage my car when the need arises. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. Very helpful.
If there is a surge, I use Uber. Once it is gone, I use Lyft. I use Lyft also when I am in Pasadena, Downtown LA, West Hollywood and Santa Monica. San Fernando Valley, Burbank and Long Beach area, I go with Uber.
Great tips! Thanks!
Thanks for the video .
Thank you for the information, I was afraid of conflict of interest here!
i like doing deliveries and switch it up with uber or lyft if there is prime time or surge.
i do both but in my area, Uber is busier by a quite significant margin but it is nice to have Lyft as an option...as you said in the video I did have one Friday where I wasn't getting anything on Uber for unknown reasons...they did an app upgrade that day and I am wondering if it was a problem from that. I earned over 150 on Lyft as a backup so it saved the day for me. When Uber isn't back to back I will run both apps as you suggested with my iPad mini running Uber and my iPhone running Lyft. I have not had the problem where someone pings me on both at the same time so it seems to work well.
also if you go out of state you can use lyft if you have some down time
Great Information!
thanks for your valuable tips...
np!
I am using two phones and 5 different rideshare apps at the same time in Mexico City, sometimes it's a little confusing but I really multiply my chances of getting a rider,
Cool. Thanks :-)
Hey Rideshare Guy, I wanted to point out that on Android apps., I found 3. Quickbooks "Accounting + Inventory" "Go Payment" and "Self Employed". For rideshare I thought a driver would need "Self Employed", just pointing this out and letting you and everyone know this. Your information is valuable RSG, *wink* and I appreciate the stuff you share to help make us better drivers. Have A Great Day and Stay Safe.
Good point - you will need Quickbooks Self-Employed :)
You can do either
Good video thanks guy God bless sir.
So if a person is operating both Uber and Lyft app which one is better to have as a main one
3-5 minutes between trips is a long time for you? Come to Roanoke, VA...15-20 minutes between rides is common.
what car rental programs do you suggest that's rents per week?
Great info. I'm considering it but scared as s*#t!!!! I been doing 5pushups every day just in case. *New subbie. Keep encouraging videos.😟
Mr UTubeCover Fan Fan hilarious!!
I have a question about Lyft prime time. How do you know if the ride that you accept as a driver is prime time? For Uber is very clear, I see the lighting bolt with the surge number. I would like to have some more insight on the Lyft side. Sometimes there could be surge and prime time at the same place and time. It will be helpful if you can know in advance what you're accepting. Thank you for your help and informative videos.
You don't :( therideshareguy.com/uber-surge-vs-lyft-prime-time-shootout-where-do-drivers-earn-more/
Regarding the Logos: I've been an Uber passenger several times and every car had some kind of dashboard mount. On the mount, there was some kind of card that had the Uber logo on one side and the Lyft logo on the other side. All the drivers had to do was flip the card around to show the company logo that applied to each request. I never looked at them close enough to be able to see what type of mount it is.
I drive a Prius, so, obviously I can't reach back to switch logos, and I'd like to use the mount instead. Do you have any information on about this and where to purchase this type of gadget? Thank you.
Those driving for both do you need 2 phones or just one is enough?
Great video! what's considered long time/ slow night (/day)? (ex. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.)
I drive in Los Angeles, so anything over 5 min wait is slow for me. But in smaller cities 10 mins may be 'slow'.
RUFINO ESTRADA Monday thru Thursday from 7A to 11A are busy with surges for Uber and Prime time for Lyft. 3P to 8P are busy too. All day Friday and Saturday are busy.
Thanks for the video to start out with. How about when I get a lyft request and I'm already on an uber ride? Can I or should I cancel a lyft trip if already accepted? Or put it another way not accept a lyft request without it damaging my driver account?
I log out of lyft when i get an uber request to avoid taht :)
I have a uber airport pass do I have to get one with lyft to?
I wait around hrs to get orders when I open both Uber x n eat other. Can u Plx share what’s this problem?
Do you track mileage for tax purposes? If so, how do you keep track of the different trips when you're busy? That's my biggest concern for running both at the same time.
I just treat all my driving as one job so I only need to track the cumulative mileage :) And here are some options: therideshareguy.com/day5
good
I'm currently driving for Uber in Chicago Metro area and am thinking about doing Lyft too. I've got a good phone with a fast processor do you think running both apps on the same phone is feasible or is a second phone pretty much necessary?
Proman in Chicago too. Totally feasible: I do it
So, Harry, with two phones, you'd run Uber on one and Lyft on the other? How about for checking where the drivers are through the passenger side? Would you run the Uber rider app on your Lyft driver phone? Don't you automatically get logged off as a Lyft driver when you open up the passenger side of the Lyft app, even on another device? Is the work around to set up a separate account as a passenger, and is that just by using a different e-mail address? Sorry about the rapid-fire questions, but I'm getting ready to sign up to drive with Lyft (unfortunately, I didn't find your advice about signing with Lyft before Uber until it was too late), and I'm trying to have as much info as I can to maximize my profits. (Work smarter, not harder!) Thanks!
Yea I'd check Uber pax app on the Lyft phone. And yea you can't open up the Lyft app on a second phone but you can get a wife/friend/etc's account and open that on your second phone or use a google voice # to create a second account :)
Greetings The Ridershare Guy, and thank you for your video. I just started and I drive a SUV (Honda Pilot) and I get around 19.9 miles per gallon. Riders enjoyed very much the roomy vehicle, comfortable, smooth, and safe drive. However, riders don't want to pay for the better car and I usually get Pool request on Uber. Uber looks than don't care about the car, and I hear horror stories about other driver's car. The wuestion for you is, Is it worth it to drive a car like mine ( Honda Pilot 2017), pay more for gas and do not get the rewards from it? I see many drivers using smaller cars Prius, corollas, etc. and don't hear complaints about the smaller cars. I got just a few UberXL rides with 5+ riders. It works great like this, but I don't see a higher pay for it. Thanks.
Romulo Huezo hello. Please which good phone can you recommend to be driving uber
you should make a video on what if you do not pick up a rider in a month what will happen.
boom done: maximumridesharingprofits.com/long-can-go-without-driving-uber-im-deactivated/
Hey..did i just hear you correctly? That uber doesn't care about acceptance rates now unless you're on guarantees? or something to that effect? I actually am a little unclear about both things. Not sure what guarantees are or if i qualify for that pay structure, and also looking for clarification on acceptance. Super new here, just started last thursday (i actually emailed you and as you say you emailed back directly within a day or so which is awesome!!) and definitely interested in learning about the guarantee set up...but my acceptance as per last check was like 59%...i've been primarily trying to drive using pool on my commutes to and from work, and as a result of not fully knowing or trusting the "destination" feature of being online, i've been trying to reach out to passengers when i get pinged to confirm destinations are in line with mine and as a result have ended with high cancelations and low acceptance....trying to work on that by staying offline more and not "Chasing" the surge, but trying to position myself near them while offline to minimize this so we'll see...but yeah..sorry..the question turned into a rant... :-)
Yea you can ignore as many requests as you want but you have to be careful about the cancellations :)
therideshareguy.com/how-to-take-advantage-of-ubers-new-acceptance-rate-policy/
ok great...i have heard you mention "guarantees" in the past that sounded like driver incentive guarantees i'm guess, but I don't know where to find info on that..can you point me in the right directly? Also trying to find the place where uber has their video for SF partners, and heck if i can find it....
The guarantees will get e-mailed to you or show up in the app once you become a driver: therideshareguy.com/category/guaranteed-pay/
Mystro will not work on my phone. Can you help me find Maxymo?
what market is this guy in ? Chicago?
Los Angeles area
yup la
Will mystro turn off lyft when I get a uber ride?
Yes - you can see Mystro in action here - ua-cam.com/video/D1TvvKqUFZQ/v-deo.html
can you drive for both if you have a car from xchange
yes!
Where can I get the logos? I think it's better to have them.
Joseph Baumann you can e-mail Lyft and Uber and they will mail you the trade dresses. You can also go to an Uber greenlight location.
why did uber change the app display.for example life time do not show up anymore?
Yea I saw that - not sure why though.
Do u know if theirs an app that runs both the Uber and Lyft simultaneously and when a call comes in will automatically turn the other one off?
Yup, it's called Mystro and you can find out more about it here: therideshareguy.com/mystro-review-get-more-trips-and-drive-safer/
Is there an app for iPhone?
do you have to turn off the app you are not using when you get a pick up?
Yea you can go offline.
The Rideshare Guy cool thanks. I live here in Long Beach too. What spots would you recommend me to go to or times to drive?
ivan pena go around CSULB area, traffic circle and 2nd street. People give tips there. 4P to 7P weekdays I will add downtown LB.
I get the volume argument I mean one can't afford to be sitting around but pay is so low for Lyft that I wonder if it is worth it by the time you factor in gas, mileage, opportunity costs with Uber, etc.... This week for Lyft I've done 4 rides that took 1.5 hrs and made $28.57 = $19.05/hr and this is about as good as it gets (last week I think it was like $15/hr).
I should add that I usually drive for Uber when there is a boost on of like 1.4x....for comparison.
I should also add that I'm not getting many tips with Lyft....maybe a dollar every 4th ride or so?
But I should also add that to get 1.4x I have to drive in L.A.'s rush hour which is so slow it pretty much negates the higher pay because trips take twice as long as they should.
I think people understand that two services will lead to an increase in Uber/Lyft provision. 5 second explanation
Why when I go to sugn up for daily pay is there no option to select the Uber platform. Wtf am I missing.
So they're no longer working with Uber drivers but you can do uber's instant pay: therideshareguy.com/uber-instant-pay-for-drivers-heres-how-it-works/
Did you just say that Uber doesn't keep track of Acceptance rates now?
They still keep track of them but they won't deactivate you for low AR's anymore: therideshareguy.com/how-to-take-advantage-of-ubers-new-acceptance-rate-policy/
Nice. I hate UberPool. I just started Lyft and noticed the higher pay right away on the Pool rides for them. What is Lyfts policy on Pool. Will they deactivate?
Yea you need to keep high AR's with Lyft..
Great videos but too much repetition
we are subcontractors!! NOT business owners lol
You are kind of a business owner, even if you don't consider yourself to be one or do anything to formalize it: therideshareguy.com/day-1-should-you-form-an-llc-for-your-new-rideshare-business/
Absolutely agree.
I treat Uber and Lyft as referral services to my business, which is client delivery from A to B. They get their cut, sure, but I'm out there for me and my clients. Thanks.
Ok so the video starts with the why, when the title says how 🤔
your mouth isnt syned with the sound?
ronald rogerson it's your connection that's delayed 🤔
I wouldn't drive for Uber and Lyft "at the same time"...
Pick one and stay with it...
I'm not going to talk about the benefits of staying with one company except to say that if you drive for both your ratings are going to tank...
You can't "serve two masters"...one will deactivate you, followed by the other...
yes you are right Uber sucks
