For a tv show, Avatar really had some pretty good VFX.
there's other TV show with better VFX than this bruh
@@zidfilms he didn't say that Avatar had the best VFX dude
@@anglenguyenhai1989 im just saying there's is more better TV show VFX other than the avatar
@@zidfilms what a useless comment, like yeah? Obviously? That's like if you're eating a meal and someone comes up and say "there are better food somewhere"
@@zidfilms why are you trying to defend your comment hahahahahahhaa
1:30 Zuko got Azula's flame.
Waiting for Corridor Crew to react like 👀👀👀
i was looking for this
When Kyoshi came thru like Wonder woman i was like Lessssgoooo!!!!
Loved the VFX! Had some issues there and then, but it looked great overall.
Now if they can somehow manage to actually make people look wet after they've been hit by water... 👀
Or burnt after being blasted by a human flame thrower 😂
agreed, they could splash real water on them to get them wet or use make up and pre-burnt clothes for the actors change into after a cut in a scene. But this would require multiple versions of their costumes which also goes into the budget but they definitely have it
they could add that but it will reduce to 4 episodes per season 😂.
@@thisiscuvoit kind of defeats the purpose of following the cartoon then, the elements work more on intent, if I intend to intensely burn someone like ozai did to zuko, I can, but if I intend to hit or smack that person with fire rather than scorch them, then that will occur aswell, same with water aswell, it also all comes down to control, coz there was a point in episode 2 where katara hit aang with water in his back with a rather sloppy water attack playfully and aang's clothes got wet, or atleast the part she hit him with water on did
@@thisiscuvo At least they look usually a bit singed afterwards when fire is is involved. 😅 Not so with water. 👀 I don't envy them for having to pay attention to these things though.
For some reason, I do not like the color grading.
Same, it feels like all of their shots are over exposed or simply have a shallow dynamic range, and that the color grader had to push the contrast to try and compensate, but the result is too dark and flat to look realistic. Otherwise the effects look ok.
Thank goodness i thought that was a real fire blast whew! Very good job! I like this!
firebending had the best cgi for me
avatar kyoshi is full cgi damn
istg bruv. I'm in shock just like you
the movements were really really realistic I thought they just appleied some "filter" on the real actress so she blended in more with the CGI LOL
Thats why it’s good😂, jnlime other real people bending scenes
she's not cgi
@@haveidonethisbefore you can see they made her exact model in 3D. The scene when she stand and talk were real but the action and flying wêre cgi. At leást for the scene when she landed in front of Zuko to save Kâtara. It was too realistic nobody thought it was cgied
Honestly I thought the VFX was really good. There where some takes where it felt uncanny but overall it's pretty good
I though I've gotten over the superhero flicks, but man, I really wish this series was a standalone blockbuster movie in theaters. That heroine was so cooooollllllll!!
So Kyoshi wasn’t real?
She was, but she had a CGI double obviously for when she'd fly in and fly out. Aang and Katara also had CGI doubles, mainly for the parts when Aang had to fly out on his glider or when Aang and Katara jumped from a ship directly onto Appa.
I wish the costume of aang and gang are dirtier when they travel, it looks too clean
Ik it’s hard to do water vfx but now its also confirmed that NATLA will do book 2 and 3, they should now start enhancing the water effects since it’s kinda unrealistic the way Katara knock some guys with a splash of water or maybe it’s just Netflix needed more budget for that, hope they’ll do a better job, I have big expectations for the next season and will continue to watch if they did better.
The mythology and action is handed much better then legacy of monsters only negative is that I wish it was 10 episodes then 8
cool, thats what i want to know
so according to the vfx break down, she can really bend water?
some of the backgrounds looked to obivoius cgi
obivoius ey? lmao
kyoshi fight was cgi ? 😢 ..... heartbreak 💔
Love that show ❤🎉
as VFX student, its good but not that amazing. In most areas, they have heavy darkening and blurring. To avoid difficulty in spotinh mistakes. Also green screens were not that accurate.
K.
As good as the water bending looked, its not believable that that garden hose water effect will knock out 4 soldiers who are in armor. Everything is else is just perfection
Uhm water can cut through basically anything with enought pressure. But the unrealistic thing for me is using water as as something to grab on to other things as if its a tentacle 🤣🤣🤣
@@thisiscuvo he didn't mean water isn't strong enough. he meant the effects look weak. it feels like people are getting pushed back by splashes of water. but in reality it should be like those fire hoses
@@thisiscuvoI think that's from the og show too and Korra
It's a fantasy series with only Asian people in it , that isn't realistic either
So we can suspend belief and believe that water in this fantady world is capable of that
@@thisiscuvoKorra had waterbenders that could use tentacle arms. Not sure if it was a newer skill in that period as Korra is after Aang but its a waterbending skill
@@thisiscuvoIt can... because of surface tension. Water is a lot denser than air.
шын екен деп ойласам
when i see this its not coming so hard i ended blender donut tutorial and it can make in 3-4 days maximum
genuine question : do you really believe what you say or is this meant as a joke?
This show was why they raised the price Netflix almost 30$ a month and bout to go up again 😭😭
Sometimes there were rough green screens. Background looked cheaply put there. Why? From what I've heard about budget that shouldn't have been the problem
CGI is bad sometime, but hey its netflix 😂
@@zidfilms there is no perfect CGI. There is no movie you can't notice it's CGI. But backgrounds were not hard CGI.
@@Kai-Kaci Try watch dune 2, you can't notice the cgi because the movie looks so well made and you won't even think it's cgi. It's part of the world
@abottame9284 Dune 2 is 3 hours long and has 190 million as a budget. Avatar is 7 hours long and has 120 million budget. There is a difference in a movie and the series.
7 hours needs a lot more resources than 3 hours. So...
It's a time thing. VFX artist don't set out to make bad vfx, but if you give them a crappy schedule, you'd notice a dip unfortunately.
cool
They really did a great job!
Houdini? Blender? 3ds max? Maya? Cinema 4d?
Houdini for simulations for sure and most VFX studios use Maya for character animation, so that's my guess on that. 3ds max is out of date and not really in use in the industry anymore as far as I know. Some do stuff in C4D, but it's mostly in use in advertisement and animation with smaller pipelines. Blender is cool and its getting quite capable and some are starting to use it on bigger projects, but the generation that is currently in the A-teams of CG and VFX established their techniques and pipelines when blender was still way inferior to the industry standards. I think we will see more blender in the mix as younger designers and animators get into the industry.
Those effects looks great !
but what about the medium size water fish that looks not so terrifying in the final episode, he was splashing water at some ships in the final episode trying to look like the spirit of the ocean and failed.
I thought the CGI looked like garbage. But then again, the entire show is a complete dumpster fire.
ok
Then why even watch this lmao
@@elsaandersson1652 So I could make a comment and talk shit about it, duh.
@@sir_christmas_leopold_duckson So you want an argument or what?
@@Hans_YT-yg4m3rz Did I ask for one?
