They paired up well, but have gone their separate ways as they both have different talents and different goals in life. May they both reach to their hearts desire. Only my opinion, but his voice does open out in that same beautiful way on Canto Della Terra; their versions are equals. The best thing is that in a few years, he will not be compared to anyone - Jonathan's voice will be immediately recognized for its own unique timbre and range. I feel privileged to have heard this young man sing.

After the last time, Charlotte had to be dreading what Simon had to say. But she was going to stand there and take whatever came. Remarkable class in a 16 year old.
Simon was right with what he said to her. Because she sounded bad. But Jonathan gave her confidence and she became better and better and better. Now she sings beautifully in her own right and Simon told her so.
TheSommersonnenwende I doubt whether she has actually got better - I imagine it was just that she didn't sing to her best ability in the first audition because it must be nerve wracking in front of a huge audience on national TV. As you say, it is probably her increased confidence that has allowed her to demonstrate her true talent. And Jonathan's voice is unusually powerful, so it would take somebody pretty exceptional to not get drowned out. It also means that anyone duetting with him has to work that much harder to even seem above mediocre by contrast.

He could've said their voices were appropriate for different styles of music and could have encouraged them to compete separately on that basis. But to tell her she would slow her friend down and to tell him he should "dump her" (that's how he put it!)... how many responsible adults would've said such things to such young people in front of a global audience. It was wrong and profoundly disgusting. Charlotte indeed had "Remarkable class in a 16 year old". Simon showed less basic decency than most people would have. He's all business, literally.
During their first audition, the accompaniment was totally off, not complementing their voices. They totally drowned her out, plus her mic was too low to match his voice level. So don't blame her. She's strong and doing a great job. Plus her attitude remains high in total support for him. What a blessing she is.
I love to listen to Jonathon and Charlotte. Two Earthbound Angels sent to raise us up and hear the beauty of Music. I felt the stress of the week fall away just listening to these two. I am proud of Jonathon. I too was very overweight but by lifes roads I got to do more since the age of 18 than most will do in a lifetime. Jonathon, Charlotte enjoy these moments and seal them into your heart. But also; take time to still be kids. When singing becomes a job, take time off. Balance your singing and time with friends and family. And God; Thank you for allowing us the joy of hearing your two precious Angels.

I think your right if your applying your minor criticism/advice towards Charlotte but I can't hear anything wrong with Jonathan's dialect at all not only does he pronounce the words perfectly but also expresses the emotions perfectly and even develops a richness in his accent when singing which makes him sound like a full blooded Italian not a teenage boy from Essex.

They have their own style & the public Love it! Yes, the Neapolitan dialect is indicative to the original version of this song & its writer, but I have heard many different singers do this song, and I would not want them to sound like the original.. And not all Good Italian singers use Neapolitan dialect through their lyrics..
well iam intalian and i can say that the jonathan's italian is really to close native speaker, while charlotte wrongs some accents and pronunciation of certain words. This song is really difficult to sing for a non-native speakers because there are parts in neapolitan dialect, and jonathan is able to sing also those parts
