- Football is not only about spectacular goals and memorable combinations. Football is also about conflicts between players that happen quite frequently, when players offend each other and sometimes they even use physical force. Today let's recall the most aggressive football players and the interesting cases associated with them.
Let's start with the legend of Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos. Sergio has always been a tough player who managed to get quite a collection of cards: 259 yellow and 26 red ones. Many fans can immediately think of the two moments in his career when he proved to be a truly brutal player. The first is when Sergio inflicted injury on the Egyptian Mohamed Salah in the 2018 Champions League final. Sergio knocked out the best player of the opposing team with a rather tough trick that did not allow Salah to get in decent enough shape for the upcoming World Cup. The second episode is a game in one of the El Clasico matches, when he treated the world star Leo Messi quite harshly. Ramos purposefully pushed the legendary footballer off his feet by kicking his legs from behind.
The next football hooligan on our list is the Uruguayan forward and game genius Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan vampire, as many nicknamed him, has already tasted his opponents thrice. In 2010, when playing for Ajax, Suarez bit Otman Bakkal. In 2013, when he already was a part of Liverpool, he bit the future captain of Zenit Branislav Ivanovic, who played for Chelsea. Finally, in 2014, Suarez bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup game.
We move on to the next player, and this is the Portuguese defender Pepe. The butting of this formidable Portuguese can be called a childish prank compared with his aggression on the football field that had much more serious consequences. The player of the Spanish club Getafe, Javier Casquero got to be the unluckiest since he felt Pepe's wrath fully in the 2009 Real-Getafe match. First, the defender pushed the opponent in the back, and when he fell, Pepe gave him a few more kicks.
Next in our top is Franck Ribery. If we discard all his tricks and the ability to beat single-handedly any number of opponents, the Frenchman has always been extremely hot-tempered. When we talk about squabbles between players and coaches, we should mention the fight between the Italian Gennaro Gattuso and the Tottenham coach. In 2011, in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League, Milan played with Tottenham. During the match, Gattuso grabbed one of the Londoners' coaches, Joe Jordan, by his neck. And after the final whistle he attacked Jordan again and hit him in the face with his head. The Italian has always been a tough player, that’s why he got nicknames such as “Rhino”", “Pitbull”, “Chain Dog” and others.
We cannot ignore the case of aggression that took place in the final game of the World Cup between the French and Italian teams in 2006. It is almost impossible to reliably establish what the Italian defender Marco Materazzi said to the great Frenchman Zinedine Zidane. Each side interprets what happened in its own way. Whatever it was, everyone who is at least somehow interested in football remembers how Zidane hit in the chest the central defender of the Italian national team with his head.
If you're a longtime football fan, you may be aware of the antics of the football player Eric Cantona. He could purposefully perform a rough tackle on the opponent, immediately receiving a red card. He could even fight with his own team’s fans.

Я смотрю матчи европейской футбольной Лиги долгие годы и удивляюсь, почему эта международная структура, называемая ФИФА, до сих пор не приняла законы, исключающие недопустимые спортивные действия, посредством которых будут наказаны все те неупорядоченные футболисты, в том числе и судьи, которые грубо и упорно будут играть по правилам спорта. В нашу эпоху электроники ни одно действие не может остаться незамеченным, судьи должны смотреть на экраны и принимать справедливые и правильные решения.Настало время, чтобы неупорядоченные футболисты, систематически и годами совершающие грубые и умышленные нарушения правил игры, должны быть удалены из этой среды и своими действиями не причинять вреда другим, особенно видным футболистам. Как видим, красная карточка не является средством полного наказания и не пугает исполнителя, она не воспитаеть неупорядоченного футболиста.

Целью спорта всегда было объединить самых разных людей, и достичь мира и единства. А что мы видим в реальности? По-настоящему объединить людей подобные события, как футбол, не в силах. На примере этих драк видно как особенно ярко проявляются отрицательные качества, которые, согласно Библии, свойственны людям в "последние дни" этого мира: "горды,.. недружелюбны, непримирительны, невоздержаны..." (2 Тимофею 3:1-5). Но достичь единства возможно! Библия обещает, что скоро все люди на земле будут жить в единстве, так, как это изначально задумал Бог: "Во дни его процветет праведник, и будет обилие мира" (Псалом 71:7).
