There’s an old saying “You are what you eat” regarding dieting. However, this is even more true with spiritual food. If we consume all the negativity in the world from media, or even our own negative thoughts, we are malnourished & our hope dwindles. But if we CHOOSE to eat God’s Manna from His Word & focus on Jesus & what He’s doing every day in our lives, we can be satisfied & thrive! It definitely takes a concerted effort to make that choice, but I have found that the more I do, the easier it becomes - like a habit really. And that sustains me even on the most difficult days. I just read the book of Jasher and I was totally impressed how God delivered the Patriarchs as soon as they prayed. Surely He is the same God today that He was then.
