- Free is not free. Especially if the furniture piece just shows up at your door. Question its origins and investigate!!! Don’t just look at it for face value. Sometimes there’s hidden meanings behind the gesture. Either way, the next time I’m going to think a lot harder on whether I want to tackle something that was free.

You are as talented at producing videos as you are at restoring furniture! Great, entertaining video and the dresser looks wonderful! Actually like the super dark wood better than the 1948 blonde finish. Hoping your channel blows up soon, you deserve it!
Maureen you are the sweetest! Thank you so much for your kind words and comments. You put a smile on my face 💙😊
Love the way you set up this whole scenario. Brilliantly done.
Your narration style really makes me smile; dry, laconic, almost cynical. It's like you channel your inner Daria Morgendorfer!
😀 Thank you Matt!
Veneer edge banding? This is a super story. I love it.
Lolol 😂, I started laughing only minutes into your video and decided a cup of coffee and a quiet place to watch was in order, you did NOT disappoint! You’re humor and wit were refreshing and I especially liked your telling of the history of the manufacturer, a true way to honor furniture history! This video and your talent was a true lesson of grit and determination to achieve what you did….an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture that could have and might have ended in a landfill or firewood. Kudos and thank you for this. 🤩🎃🧛🏻♀️
Coffee is always a must! I thought I'd add in that Mengel furniture history bit after I looked it up myself. Sharing is caring? It was really intriguing that Kroehler bought them out. Both good quality solid makers. Thank you for your awesome comment Melissa! 💜😊
Agree
you really got into the Halloween spirit 😮
By far the most entertaining furniture makeover video I ever watched.
Watching this tutorial is like listening to Braam Stocker’s Dracula on tape.
Love it and I learned things.
Remember my friend, that knowledge is stronger than memory, and we should not trust the weaker. 😀
Thanks! Love your style, love your research, LOVE your soothing voice. Thank you for bedtime stories.
😮 😯 Thank you so much Susan!! ❤️ I am so grateful!
And I didn't even hear the pounding rain outside. This was one haunting tale. I shall not soon recover. The final burnt blackened oak effect is remarkably good looking. Not the blond bimbo of the 50's. Thank you. My dreams shall be tormented tonight but never boring.
Thank you Nancy! The rain came down today, but the garage is fixed...sort of. 😀
Your creativity is boundless! Not only did you do an amazing job in the dresser, but this video was superb.
Thank you 😊
You're hilarious! Editing, production value, story thread - on point! Great job on the reconstruction, especially the drawers and top. Love the accent. This turned out beautiful!
Thank you :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had mixed feelings about the accent on the side, but when it was all done I felt better about my choice.
Omgoodness That was great you did a great job. I always get haunted furniture lol 😆. Sometimes you just gotta push through and do what you can do and you kicked its haunted ass lol.
Absolutely true. I watched Colored Cabooses video earlier and she said it best in that sometimes you just need to walk away and come back. I don't think I've had to do that as much on one piece, but I'm sure it will happen more. 😊💙
Best haunted furniture video ever! My Lord you seriously saved & transformed this dresser... you have amazing perseverance & awesome sense of humor!
Thank you Lindsey! 😊
So much work !
Such great editing !
Such a transformation!
And that ending lmfao🤣🤣🤣.
Over 12 hours of editing. I have to admit that towards the end when I was running out of steam you really helped to motivate me to keep going. I know you had problems too, but we did it! I added the baby groot costume comment in for you ❤. I am pretty sure the ending got me flagged for review last night when I was posting. Worth it thought 🤣
@@ReconstructingEmily yes girl you did an absolutely amazing job you should be very proud. Not gonna lie I was afraid you might be having a bonfire 🔥 when I didn’t see your video last night. I’d like to reserve a spot for your editing class in advance please.
Big cheesy grin when you mentioned baby groot 😊
Great video, funny and in keeping with the spooky theme. Very clever. Also a great restoration of a challenging piece.
Thank you Jeanne 😊
Fun!!! Loved this!!
Ok I’m just at your intro wow!!! I’m hooked 👀
New version of red light therapy....
Haha! I like how you did all that hard work and still shot it at the end with a cannonball!
If I had a cannon. I very much would have done this..
Love your sense of humour!! So well done!
Thank you 😀
Love the dresser and the drama.
Thank you Karen 😊
Layers of desperation. Five stars!! 👏👏👏
I was definitely shooting for entertainment. I'm not sure how to answer the question. I grew up watching ghost/haunting shows. There have been a lot of things that have happened to me that I cannot explain, but I think sometimes those things don't require explanation. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for watching!
wow. This dresser was so lucky to have been delivered to you. You are such a hard worker. Great job.
Thank you so much Carole! ❤
Besides the fantastic makeover, this was incredibly funny and clever! It was only when I rewatched with my husband that I noticed the book from Beetlejuice. Well done!
Thank you 😊
My folks had same set of furniture from 50’s. It held up well over all the years and is still being used by grandkids.
It's seriously heavy duty furniture. This one definitely has been through a rough patch. I have seen the tallboy version of it and I quite love it. With it being solid oak I would hate to carry it up a flight of stairs though! Thank you for sharing Nancy 💙
Awesome from start to finish!!!
Thank you Sue 😊
This is so awesome
Thank you Stephanie! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
That turned out so well! Beautiful!
Thank you Gail! I'm glad you liked the end result! 😊
The book looks like “The Handbook for the Recently Deceased” from Beetlejuice. It is likely a journal.
I noticed that! What a great touch!
What a wonderful transformation!! And your presentation of it was as equally wonderful.
Thank you Peaches! 💚
Looking beautiful! Great job😍
Thank you Karol 😊 ❤
It turned out great...lots of work!!! Good job!!
For sure! Thank you 😊
Soooo cool😎!
ALL around a great job!
I applaud your tenacity. This was a really original and funny video and the dresser looks great!
Thank you Katie! 😊
Thank you for the very entertaining video. Your hard work paid off. Remarkable transformation. Might I say even Magical!
Thank you so much Mary Alice! Did you see the tape wand at the end? I'm pretty sure it worked. 💙
Beautiful!
Its beautiful
Wow! Lots of work. Looks awesome.
Thank you Janet! 💙
I am so gullible sometimes. I actually got chills throughout the video. Guess who watches too many creepy shows late at night? Me! Thanks for the entertainment. Great one.
Late at nights the best time to watch creepy shows!!! I hope the chills were like good jump scare chills followed by a 'whew'. 💜
I really enjoyed that!! Very creative.
Thank you Bridget! 🙂
What a clever video and (of course) another terrific project!
Thank you 😊 I am glad you liked it! The piece ad video were both labors of love ❤
Interesting story line & Interesting piece when it was done.
That was awesome.. its a beautiful haunt now 🎃🎃🎃🎃

Very clever--what a fun video! Not just for Halloween since it's almost Thanksgiving here!
Perfect story & piece turned out awesome
Thank you Christi! 😊
Vastly entertaining! (All those 70's horror movies rolled into one!) and very informative. Thanks!
A big giant lightly seasoned horror burrito! (I'm hungry...) Thank you Moranda! 😊
Your so funny. I love your pups and your work! Glad I found you.
Thank you Janice 😊❤
If it doesn’t fly around the room by itself it’s not possessed enough. We have a chair that does, sometimes with a cat in it. The cats don’t seem to mind but they ride the Roomba too. Really nice repair job, if you can fix that you can fix anything..
I need a chair like that! I'm not sure how the cats would feel about it. They don't like the robot vacuum cleaner much. Maybe I need another cat too? Love this comment Clyde. Thank you - I needed this!! 😊💚
nice job! real trash to treasure project and you aced it!
Thank you Joyce 😊
That was a tres witty Special. Much fun. I love that stain you chose. On to 73 more years of use.
🥰 Thank you!!

Emily! Gurl this video!!!...you my friend are genius, your humor is my favourite. This dresser is beautiful haunted or not 😍 fabulous job!!!
Thank you 😊
Love your tenacity 😊
Thank you! 😊
You did a perfect Job on this ohne - everybody knows that to take a curse off of a piece of furniture you got to treat it with love and orange oil .
Great Video as always, or maybe - Even better ? Thanks for the good entertainment!
Someone was telling me peppermint oil did the job, but I said it had worse problems than spiders... Thank you Fiese 😊
You are hilarious! Always entertaining. And that dresser looks amazing! I love watching you problem solve. It's so helpful! Thanks!
Thank you Alicia! 😊😊

Wow this turned out beautiful! Also absolutely love you video style 🙌❤️
Thank you so much!!! 💙
You are so adorable... Can I adopt you? LOL 😆 I love this video. And the rustic look in the dresser is perfect.
HAH! I feel like maybe I've made it if someone offers to adopt me. I could always use more family! 💙
Loved everything about your video, Emily! Wonderful creativity, acting, story and editing. And that dresser turned out amazing! Wow!
Thank you so much! ❤
Fun vid! Good job.
Thank you Karen!
Love your humor! That 0 days without sarcasm t-shirt is fantastic. The end was great and the piece turned out great!
I sometimes wear that shirt to the store and forget I have it on. The hardware store people like to crack jokes when they see it, which I always appreciate! Thank you Emma 💚
Spellbinding! I loved this video. So well thought out with ALL the details. Loved the way you filmed how it appeared suddenly. Fantastic❣
I would like to thank the ring camera for capturing the magical moment the dresser appeared. Best Camera robot ever! 😄
@@ReconstructingEmily wow!! That's awesome!
You are such a hoot. I love your videos. Great job on your creepy chest of drawers.

Thank you Karol! I am super stoked to watch your video as well. I don't think I will be getting much done today between all the videos and the lack of sleep 😴 .
@@ReconstructingEmily same here 😂
3 minutes in and I'm hooked. I just know this is going to be a great transformation. Love your humour x
Thank you Susan! 💜
Well done, Emily!! Beautifully edited, and beautifully finished!
Thank you Joy 😊
This intro is comedy gold
Thank you Amanda! I spent an unhealthy amount of time putting that all together... probably why I said Pizza instead of Piece of.
Nice save!
Thank you Caty! 😊
Well done.
Thank you Julie!
ooh that was fun 😅 Don't know how I missed this.
Thank you Laura! ❤️
Holy cow! You were brave to tackle this one.
Thank you Christine! I think stubborn may be more than brave 😀
I do appreciate your humor in the video! I love a good pun. 😂 You put so much work into this piece and it ended up a beautiful piece of furniture.
Thank you so much Lynn :) I appreciate your wonderful comment so much.
This is an amazing transformation. You know so much about repairs.. 💕🌈🖖🏽
Thank you Mrs Jax! I try - what I don't know I sit and research for a bit before I attempt it. Sometimes there's more than one good way to do something 💕
I was born and raised in Louisville Kentucky and had this exact same furniture in my bedroom at my grandmothers house. I always thought it was ugly ( I still hate blonde wood) but you made this piece awesome! Great job and loved the storyline in this video!
I'm sure that in its time that was the peanut butter and jelly of furniture finishes, but blonde finishes are by far one of my least favorites. (Don't ask me why I said Peanut butter and Jelly... seemed right...) They are so difficult to remove, and the oak grain pattern that it was hiding was beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Slowly making my way through all of your videos - love the content!
The furniture you do is beautiful, I enjoy the process and your commentary, your personality shines through and you're very funny :D I also like the dogs making a cameo here and there
Thank you so much Anni!!! ❤ Glad you found me!
LOL. How did I miss this video??? 😂😂😂 I loved it! Turned out great considering the way it just showed up at your door like that in that awful shape!
great video.
Thank you Kimberly! 💜
HOLY FREAKING HELL DUDE THIS IS SO INSANE!!! My god you are a genius! The commitment! The production value! THE NOTE!!!! UGH!!! You win. That's it. I'm not even fighting it. On a serious note though, this piece looks amazing and this video is the best thing since the wheel. So. Thanks for that.
Coming from you this is a big compliment! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Lots of time into the piece and the video. I wasn't joking about not wanting to finish it. Mortal combat finish it was on my mind frequently...😄
@@ReconstructingEmily hahaha well you KO’d this challenge for sure
