It's a pretty good looking home computer game by 1987 or 1988 standards. It looks like it plays similarly to ALF on the Sega Master System (lots of wandering around aimlessly wondering what you're supposed to do next) but, as a ~13 year old (at the time) and a Garfield fan, I would probably have loved it (but we only had a Vic 20 and a Sega Master System).
It's not as bad as Alf because it's coded by someone who had some idea of what he was doing. But you are right about the "what the hell am I supposed to do?" aspect of the game.
I still have both GARFIELD games... - BIG, FAT HAIRY DEAL - WINTER'S TAIL on my Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 😺👍. Also, i remembered, that today is Garfield's 44th birthday 😸😺👍.
Took a while to figure the puzzles but finally got it. Played through with C64. Routes seem the same on Amiga but on C64 you have to be more careful with food and sleep meter. Getting clockwork mouse from Nermal is the worst one as u need to find your way out of the sewers in blind. Working with Odie here was a fine tactic.
The weird thing is there's loads more items than there are puzzles. They're either red herrings, or they might add bonus points (like scoring the hole-in-one at golf), but I never figured out their purpose 🤔
Yep, that´s a nice addition to base game. In C64 all items are food to Garfield, he eats any item in inventory atm he needs it :) I think its only to make game harder to figure out what to do with certain items but I´m not sure of it - there may be some extra use for them, like the golf ball you mentioned.
Lovely graphics and animation. I just wish it didn't miss the very end of the tune off which is present on the Commodore 64 version. It's miles better than the C64 version overall but I think that the C64 version has better music because it's complete.
17:11 The best ending to any video game, period.
That kiss is beautiful
see you in paradise
When you finally get to kiss the girl, but you don't know what to do.
All I remember about this game was looking at a never ending wall lol
This is probably the closest we’ll ever get to a real Garfield simulator
I loved this game lol. 42 now, I could never figure much out tho
I had no idea what to do. Just exploring places. The rat in the sewer was terryfing, altogether wirh spooky sound ...
Funny how they upped the graphics in the Amiga-version, but the music is exactly the same as on the C64.
I remember that rapid arpeggio chord technique being used in a few games on the Amiga, but didn't realise it was a classic C64 thing.
First had this on the C64 and then this version. Good game and such a catchy tune.
I'll try the C64 version at some point to see if the puzzles are any less obscure 🙂
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays The puzzles in C64 are way more obscure. They seem to make some kind of sense in Amiga.
I spent so much time as a kid getting trapped in the sewer without a flashlight.
The giant rat kept wiping me out down there too!
sounds like a result of bad parenting

The Graphics Are Impressive, even for AMIGA!
It's amazing!
Yesterday was my birthday 39th birthday 😸😺👍,
and now, today is Garfield's 44th birthday 😸😺👍.
