Hi! I’m looking to my new board and I’m undecided between this and the Skindog OVA. I own a 7 CJ Outlier Plus (the cheater hull 57L) and it’s a complete funboard from knee to head high waves. I’m looking for something chest high to double over head, do you think the X may be the go to?
Haven't tested the upper range of the Outlier X. I've tested it in head high waves to a few feet overhead. It probably can handle double overhead plus tho. Also interested in the the Skindog Ova's too. The new 2024 models look sick haha.
I have a 6’6 and wave entry feels sluggish. Maybe it’s just my skill 😂 I’m running flying diamonds 7.5 single with True Ames 2.6 side bites. Going to try a 7.25 and see how that works when I get some $
Is the single fin all the way back?, I would try move it up more/use a smaller single fin...the two + 1 was def the set up that felt the most sluggish to paddle and enter waves. Lmk what ur thoughts are when you try changing it up tho 🤙
Was just thinking that during the twin trailer part of the vid.. That thruster is gonna be the secret sauce for when the waves get bigger. Haha. Is that how you mostly been riding it?
@@Namidan-The-Surf-and-Sea Yes. Have the best of both worlds. Have the Glide and flow of the a Mid, and a shortboard feel When i need to make turns. And also feel more speed with the normal thruster fin set up
Thank you, I've been thinking about this board and this is really helpful!
Awesome glad it helped! 👍
Sweet review! I got the 6'6" and have just started testing all the same options.
Thank you for the support! Would love to hear your thoughts again when you get a chance to try the different fin configurations 🤙
Nice video. Where did you get your trailer fin ? Been looking as wanted to try the same thing

I am looking at the 6'3, white/carbon rails. Did you had the chance to ride that construction?
I haven't yet tried Thunderbolt black yet. Pretty interested, but Thunderbolt red works so good. Lol

Overall for fun in small to medium waves seems like the Milo is a better option - right? Thanks!
Yeah! In like ankle high mush to waist high surf id range I would say the milo was more fun.

Use this board with a regular/tradicional thruster fins. You will love it
