Be honest, how’d I do? I’m loving the challenge of playing an older game. The combat seems simple but when you’re in the middle of fighting multiple enemies, it definitely takes skill so props to everyone who’s really good at it. Saw some scores on the leaderboards and I’m shocked that someone has reached 300,000?!?! Anyways, thank you guys for watching! We’ll go find Dr. Young in the next part, maybe? 😊👍🏼
Here's a few tips: Use detective mode more. In every room you enter. It lets you know enemy counts and if they are armed. You can still do the slow stealth takedown with the new collars. the other enemies are just alerted now. Glide kicks alert everyone. Keep doing the combat challenges, till it clicks. The combat gets more complex in the sequels
The inverted takedown is the best move on the game. You may even find yourself relying on it the more you invest into this trilogy. Its quick, its silent so you can snatch someone from right next to someone else, no one can see you do it and aside from that it's hilarious.
Some riddles (when solved) add new information to the codex about different characters from Batman lore. Thats how you got Hush entry. There are maps, that can help finding riddler secrets. I think, you missed one before Bane fight. Unfortunately, there is always one or two riddles, that Batman doesn't have the required gadget for, so it's easier to backtrack the whole island after getting all gadgets.
14:49 I forgot they mentioned Metropolis and even Keystone in this game. Metropolis is home to Superman a city of tomorrow while Keystone is home to the first and third Flash, Jay Garrick the original Flash and Wally West also known as Kid Flash. Techinally Jay Garrick exists on Earth-2 along with the classic Golden Age DC characters from the 1930s to the 1950s. Earth-1 the first Flash was Barry Allen who is the most well known Flash. He's from Central City, Missouri located right on the Missouri River and just on the other side of the river is Keystone City.
Might I offer some tips to help you enjoy the game even more? During the stealth sections, there's a whole world of gameplay possibilities you haven't explored. In fact, a lot of the things you mention such as "I wish I could throw something to get their attention" or "Can I spray the gel next to an unconscious enemy so it goes off when another enemy walks by", the answer is YES. There are an insane amount of tactics you can use to take out enemies. You can use the environment to your advantage and literally prey on their fears. For instance, try using the Bat-Claw to yank enemies over railings. Try hanging from ledges and pulling enemies off of them. Try waiting atop a gargoyle for an enemy to walk underneath, then hang them upside down from it. Try luring an enemy to an electric fence then glide-kicking them into it for a shock. Whatever you can imagine doing as Batman, you likely CAN do. Just experiment. Another small thing to note is YOU CAN listen to the interview tapes even AFTER closing the menu. The only time you CAN'T is during a combat or stealth encounter. But while simply exploring and walking around, you can.
After my first play-through of this I tried the arena challenges. It was at that point I discovered I had completely failed to understand the FreeFlow system. I had managed to beat the entire game without properly understanding the fighting system. It was a pretty frustrating experience at times. You're definitely doing the right thing to practice it early in the game. And yes -- you got it right; that the voice you hear when you scan those encoded things is Amadeus (the founder of the Arkham Asylum).
I subscribed this morning after catching your first two videos of this game! I can’t wait to see your reaction to the series. This is the only game series I’ve repeatedly played and gotten 100% completion on. You’re so in for a treat of a series!
I'd recommend you quickly dipping into detective mode just before you enter a new area/room or to look around corners. Also, when on top of a gargoyle, try hanging from it (press the 'O' button) and do an inverted takedown (triangle button) when they walk beneath you to leave them hanging (until you cut them down with a batarang, knowing them out). Be sure to then move to a gargoyle at the opposite side of the room right after so you're not spotted and wait for them to spread out again. Then you get to sit back and enjoy watching the bad guys panic as they realise they're getting picked off one by one. Or, if there are grates on the floor you can climb inside, you can do a takedown whenever they walk above you. Oh and 'Amadeus' is pronounced "Am-a-Day-Us' and yes, that is the guy talking on the tapes
For armed thugs, first and foremost scan the room to know how many of them are there, and their locations. Secondly, you have upgraded the ability of Inverted Takedown, so you can just perform that from any gargoyle if there is a thug below, this will also alert other thugs. And if there are isolated thugs it is okay to perform a Glide Kick, but I usually prefer gliding a bit behind them, and then performing Silent Takedown on them.
those were some great improvements to combat compared to everyone who starts this series! Feel free to use this first game as a training ground of sorts; as long as you feel comfortable with the combat by the time you start the second game you'll be golden; that's when the combat _really_ gets good (and I say this even though Asylum is my personal favourite of the series, which I know is a hot take). also, it's great to see someone take the time to explore, most people rush through these games which is a real shame.
There’s a combo move you aren’t doing that makes the guys with knives significantly easier to deal with. After hitting a combo of x5 you can press circle and triangle at the same time to instantly knock out an enemy. (P.S. it also give you immunity frames) :)
So awesome seeing another gamer get in to this series plus experience BatMan lore even if it's for the first time. Remember during these games Detective Mode is your best friend. You got to use it almost all the time especially when there's armed enemies in the area.
You’re right that the mysterious voice you’re hearing in the tablets is Amadeus Arkham. He introduced himself in the first part. Be sure to listen to those carefully. There’s an optional mystery to solve at the end. It’s a really cool touch to the game.
Five pointy pointers for you: -For those sniper situations - stealth situations as well - Detective Mode will be your friend. It may be a bit of a visual strain for you and maybe some viewers as well if it's on too long, but turning it will help bigtime with understanding who or what is around you and when. I knew people who basically had Detective Mode on for nigh on their entire game, which seems a bit much to me, but Detective Mode will help with environmental awareness so I get it. They didn't want to get got. -You're doing great with combat. Again, you'll continue to get the hang of how specific it is. Good-thinking in messing with the challenges. They'll definitely help you hone in on it further. One little specific tip; those guys with the knives - the ones you have to stun in order to start hitting - are just as susceptible to takedowns ( O + △ simultaneously) and throws ( X + ▢ simultaneously) as other enemies. If you'd rather do away with them quickly, build up your combo and then when you have a solid opening, go toward them and hit the takedown input - quickly enough that the combo won't end and take away the option. As long as there's no one else between you and them for the game to confuse your input, they'll be out of commission for good. There are some combat situations coming up in which enemies will have some new equipment, but as long as they aren't bosses or the big Titan-addled guys, you'll be able to takedown/throw them. -I'm not sure if you've done any yet, but Stealth challenges will help you hone in on that aspect of gameplay with specific methods of neutralizing enemies to get higher ranks of completion. They'll help further your understanding of hanging -takedowns, gadget-takedowns, corner-cover-takedowns, vent-takedowns, all kinds of stuff. -You're right in assuming that certain things are off-limits to you at this point of the game. You still have some gadget progression ahead of you. Sometimes it's tough to tell which stuff you can get and not get, but you seem to have a pretty good intuition regarding that. Good on you. -Don't feel too much pressure either way with regard to the Riddles/Trophies/etc. It's an open world game, and after the story the world will still be open to you if you want to run through and get them all done on your own. If you want to try to collect them all as you go, do that. We're here to watch you do you. But to help out - whatever you decide - each section has a Riddler Map that, once you have found and collected it, will pop visual indicators on your map in the menu. There is also a tab in the menu that is specific to all the Riddler stuff, so you can consult that to know which stuff is in which section/room. When scanning Riddle solutions and some Chronicles, clicking your right analog stick in to enter first-person will help and sometimes may be totally necessary. It can get a bit bothersome trying to align stuff. There is a truly annoying collection of Riddles in which you have to line up and scan these giant, green-painted question-marks in third person from certain vantage points/angles. You don't have to include those in your videos unless you'd prefer to let us partake in a few sadistic laughs as you struggle and seethe as we Arkham completionists did back in the day. You're doing great. It's fun to watch you take it all on. Hope you're having fun in doing so.
What an elbow drop at 38:51!! 😮 You're doing great, Skyy! Try to incorporate your batarangs during combat to give you an advantage. Quick tap the batarang button so Batman doesn't aim before you throw them. Also, for the knife guys; hold your counter button while you move away from them to auto dodge their attacks!
Your combat is great. When you’re walking around with snipers in the towers use detective vision, it’ll reveal the sniping trajectory via a red laser. When you’re getting shot at you’ll also see the red laser aimed at your head from whatever tower the guard is in. Also some of Riddler’s riddles can only be solved with detective vision due to invisible graffiti so when you’re looking for one, be sure to switch into detective vision every now and then.
So far your playing is quite decent. These are some tips for you when playing further into the game: * To increase combos, move your analog stick in the direction you want to attack an inmate, evade over an inmate or away to get a breather. * Do takedowns, this episode, the tip to do a takedown (circle + triangle) is literally right in front you, which leads to another tip * Always pay attention to the tips the game is giving regarding the gameplay, it’s there for a reason as the gameplay is complex yet simple at the same time * Double tapping the batarang and batclaw makes things easier, especially the batarang when up against titan monsters and other villains coming up * Never be afraid of taking your time in predator sections and using gadgets as well, such as the batclaw to pull down henchmen from walkways and falling straight to the ground knocking them out, and the explosive gel on weak walls, only UA-camr who failed at this is Suzy Lu who didn’t have a fucking clue on how to use it properly. I’m looking forward to seeing you progress in this game, which is my favourite of all time, played it when it first came out in 2009. Please do this game justice compared to the other UA-camrs that play this great game like absolute shit (looking at you Suzy Lu), only person that played the game the best is LiteWeight Gaming, let’s hope you’re another gamer who’s played this game well.
The origin of Bane has similarities with another fictional character, Edmond Dantes who is a title character and the protagonist of Alexandre Dumas's 1844 adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo. Bane grew up in the horrendous and violent confines of Peña Duro, an infamous prison located in the fictional country of Santa Prisca locted somewhere in South America, and was imprisoned since he was a child for his father's crimes. Bane's father was a revolutionary mercenary who opposed the Santa Prisca government, but was eventually caught and sentenced to life in prison. The man died before his sentence was complete, however, and left his next of kin to be imprisoned instead: Bane. During his years in prison, Bane carries a teddy bear he calls Osito (Spanish for "little bear"), whom he considers his only friend. It is revealed that Osito has a hole in his back to hold a knife that Bane uses against anyone who bullies him. At the age of eight, Bane had committed his first murder with the use of a knife that he kept inside of his teddy bear, Osito, whom he viewed as his one true friend, when a fellow inmate tried to use him to find out information on the prison. Despite his violent surroundings, Bane trained his body and mind to perfection, read any book that he could get his hands on, toned his body in the prison's gym, and even received a classical education from some of the prison inmates, including a Jesuit priest. Due to the cultural and geographical location of the prison, Bane learned a variety of languages, including English, Latin, Portuguese, Persian, Urdu and Spanish. Before long, Bane came to have complete control over the prison population and became its self proclaimed ruler. However, Bane would be plagued by intense nightmares that were centered around a city guarded by a dark and shadowy creature that resembled a bat. The Jesuit priest told him that he dreamed of Gotham, that his father had the same dreams before he died, claimed that their people's destinies would be fulfilled in that place, and how refugees from Santa Prisca helped build Gotham City 300 years ago. Seeking to achieve his own sense of peace and conquer other territories and their population, Bane lusted to escape from the confines of the prison. Bane's ambitions would be set in motion when the prison owners and doctors sought to use him, and recognized his position as the prison's leader among the inmate population, to test out military experiments that primarily dealt with the chemical compound known as 'Venom', which could increase an individual's muscle mass, stamina, durability, and adrenal levels to inhuman levels. Bane was then strapped to a storage unit that pumped the drug throughout his system and, much to the success of the experiment, the Venom was perfectly assimilated into his body. However, Bane used this to his advantage, and violently slaughtered his captors, built up an army of mercenaries from within the prison and escaped with his army in tow, which included Angel Vallelunga, Sergio Ortiz, and Diego Ortiz, who adopted the names of Bird, Trogg, and Zombie, respectively. While having achieved his freedom at last, Bane was soon addicted to the chemical of Venom and would constantly create more batches of the drug to feed his appetite and addiction for it. Before long, Bane began to despise his addiction, saw it as a weakness, and began to track down and slaughter its manufacturers. Despite this, Bane would never break completely free of his addiction. Seeking more challenges to prove his own strength and skill, Bane began to look for worthy adversaries and territories to conquer. After Bane's escape, his actions led to his being listed as a suspected terrorist, as well as a suspected subversive, suspected mass murderer, and suspected drug dealer, as well as being placed on the person of interest watch list alongside presumably other high-ranking warrants, and was also speculated to have suffered from medical psychosis, although he had yet to commit any crimes in the United States. After he heard from his right-hand man, Bird, who had previously worked with the Gotham criminal underworld, that there were rumors of a Bat-like creature who protected the city of Gotham, Bane believed this to be the same creature that plagued his nightmares and that it was fate that he and this 'Bat' creature would meet. Gotham City itself intrigued Bane because, like his previous environment in the prison, Gotham was ruled by fear; fear of the Batman. Bane then made it his mission to not only conquer Batman, but Gotham itself, and build up his own criminal empire to achieve the peace that he had longed for at last. During the "Knightfall" storyline in the comics, Bane, wanting Batman reduced to his weakest physical and psychological state, uses stolen munitions to destroy the walls of Arkham Asylum-allowing its deranged inmates, including the Joker, Two-Face, the Riddler, the Scarecrow, the Mad Hatter, the Ventriloquist, Firefly, Poison Ivy, Cornelius Stirk, Film Freak and Victor Zsasz, to escape into Gotham City. Consequently, Batman is forced to recapture the escapees, a mission that takes him three months and drives him to the brink of mental and physical collapse. Exhausted, Batman returns to his home in Wayne Manor, only to find Bane waiting for him revealing to him that he had deduced Batman's identity. Bane attacks Batman and beats him nearly to death, and delivers a brutal final blow in which he raises Batman up and breaks him over one knee, leaving him a paraplegic. Bane thus becomes the only man to have "Broken the Bat".
It's also meant to be a nod to the pulp character Doc Savage, as well as a dark mirror to Batman's own life: Like Batman, Bane trained himself to be at the absolute peak of human accomplishment he could manage with what he had, and he had a mission he was as lunatically devoted to as Batman. This isn't new, most of Batman's villains serve as mirrors of him in SOME way, but Bane, being 'The Man Who Broke The Bat', was one of the most successful. Batman was only saved from forever being paralyzed due to Comic Book Magic, more or less.
The dialogue you missed at about 18:30 was Batman deducing that Joker was funding Dr Young's research, she found out and stopped doing the research for him, and he wasn't very happy. Also, you're doing great! Love the commentary and seeing your reactions to all the characters, jump scares, and various scenes and fights. Also it's cool to see a few things that I've missed that you've done because of tips from the comments. Another great video!
You're improving a lot and it's nice to see you getting invested in all the lore. Just to echo what some other folks have already said, the instant takedown skill will be your best friend in these games once you get the hang of it. It lets you get rid of any particularly annoying enemies in a fight. You're also kind of invincible when you do it too. Normal enemies won't interrupt or attack, in fact they all just kinda stand there watching while Batman cripples one of their buddies.
2:03 🤣🤣Thats a origin story for you! Yeah it gets a lil more tricky handling multiple enemies at once. You'll get better at it over time. Especially once you get to the other games.
Awesome playthrough Sky! Just remember detective mode and inverted takedowns are your best friend in the stealth sections. Also the triangle + circle special move in combat is super useful for dealing with the tougher knife wielding enemies first.
I think you are getting the hang of the combat and riddle clues. Being an older game makes it a little harder to get used to but everything gets better with other newer Batman games. Also you almost had the Amadeus Arkham riddle in the cell room with all the crazy writing on the walls and floor, sometimes you have to step back or zoom in to solve the riddles, have fun.
0:05 Oh my god, I thought you meant the hit counter for a second there, I forgot there was an overall score, lol! So far you're doing well with the game, (I remember it took me hours just to figure out where to go on my first time) and I'm excited for the next episode!
Haha let's gooo!! She's getting addicted to the riddler trophy hunt! A true Arkham enthusiast now lmao. Dude idk why but I get so hyped for her when she solves riddles, finds things, and does well in combat. It's just so cool watching her progress and hone her skills
I’m a new subscriber and I’m loving this play through. Hope you’re enjoying the game & enjoy the rest of the series! Also I recommend that whenever you go into a new area, use detective mode so you’ll know if there are enemies with guns.
I love the dialogue between the inmates and joker or any of the other villains. It’s not super important or anything but still interesting to hear what they say. Also I have to say the Scarecrow interview taps are my favorite. He’d make for a really great horror game villain.
I've played all of the batman Arkham games a lot more than I'd like to admit, it's great to see someone playing it for the first time, i hope you play the other batman games too
I find this such an interesting watch even tho I’m older and played these games, it’s fun seeing someone new figure it out, I 100% was yelling don’t go back! As you reached the top of the library haha. Try using detective mode some more it reveals a lot of info. Ur doing good tho!
3 parts in, so excited to see more! Don't be too discouraged/stressed when traversing this game, I ran into a few issues myself during my first playthrough. It's actually kind of nice to see you going ahead to different areas of the game rather than quickly going to each objective it wants you to. A few tips! The red guys.. or the "knife wielders" are pretty easy to fight once you figure out the stun mechanic. You cannot damage them without pressing the stun button. To do special combos you have to press both of the buttons SIMULTANEOUSLY rather than one after the other. It isn't like other fighting games in which you press them in order. Anyways! Good luck, and as i said im very excited to see more of this series (:
I'm a couple months late but just started watching all your Arkham Playthroughs. Do not feel bad. You are not the only one who struggled to get into the mansion. I had a super difficult time finding the way in the first time through.
Awesome video sky n enjoying the fact that ur reading some of the Bios of characters to learn more about them😄👍🏽, combat definitely will get easier with practice so ya got this!!!🙌🏽
*Fun Arkham Timeline for Context:* Batman: Year One Batman: Arkham Origins *(Year Two)* Batman: Arkham Asylum *(Year Ten)* Batman: Arkham City *(Year Eleven)* Batman: Arkham Knight *(Year Twelve)* Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League *(5 Years After Arkham Knight)* i was going to add years but there's too much debate going around on when these games are actually set. All the games have a very ambiguous look like Burton/Schumacher films and Gotham the TV show. Gotham is a hybrid of a bunch of decades mixing 1930s with the 1950s,1970s,1980s, 1990s, and the 2000s. There's retro CCTV cameras, Cars have a retro yet modern look to them, People use computers but there's also typewriters and cell phones, and the city itself is covered in retro style adverts. So it's difficult to say when these are set but I imagine at the earliest Arkham Origins in set in the early 2000s while Arkham Knight is set around 2015. We know Suicide Squad is set 5 years after Arkham Knight so that could be set in the 2020s.
I've been playing this game at least once a year since it was released, and it's amazing that I'm finding new things while watching this. Thanks for doing this playthrough. You're doin great.
As a Batman fan it's always very interesting finding someone learning Batman lore for the first time. I hope you enjoyed it, I just found the channel and will be binging the series.
Honestly, I have watched all 3 episodes within the past couple days, and I have really enjoyed them. Really well and nice gameplay, but the game is actually more straight forward as you have mentioned previously, but as it is also your first time playing this, it’s fine and cool actually that you find out things that we people we just sort of rush through the game and maybe miss some important details. Keep up the good work and already waiting for the 4th episode of this series, you’re doing amazing 🙂
You're playing through my favorite game series, I love the Batman Arkham series, all four games are fantastic, one trick if you love finding Riddler trophies, if you long press the button for your night vision it essentially takes a picture of the trophy and places it on your map, there's especially helpful for the trophies you don't have the correct gadget for
Silent Takedowns are king in Predator encounters. The Sonic Baterang can be bought by upgrade to be used to lure the nearest henchmen wearing a collar to it's location. If a henchman is below you on while on a Gargoyle, you can use the inverted takedown to one shot a Thug but it's loud like the glide kick so move quickly to the next gargoyle.
I’ve never watched someone play this game before! There’s been so many times that I’ve been like “Look at the ground! Turn around!” and you’re just shy of finding a trophy spot but it’s been so fun watching. I really hope you stick it out and do everything! Especially if you think it’s fun finding all the trophies. A lot of people don’t like the riddler trophies, but I think they’re fun too. :) Also, there’s a riddle you’ve gotten correct but just needed to zoom in to look at them closer for it to accept.
1:03:00 that is supposed to be a joke about people who have played the game before and know to do that so it is funny that you got it on you first playthrough
New sub here. I've got a couple of tips if your interested. Prolly not the first to mention this, but give the Inverted Takedown you got from the upgrades a shot. Once on a gargoyle look straight down, wait for guard to walk underneath then hit triangle. You'll rope and him and leave him hanging. Next, to be stealthy, get into the floor grates and wait for a guard to walk over you. Once he passes go for the takedown. The prompt will tell you. Sure wish I could be your human strategy guide. I'm finding myself wanting to tell you to give stuff a try on the spot. Hope this helps make the game more fun and your doing great. Having a blast watching you do this. I've been through it about 3 times. Have fun , ✌️
You've probably given the Horizon series a shot already, but if you haven't I would sure love to watch you go through it starting with Zero Dawn. The following Batman games in the series are cool also. Later on you'll get to roam around Gotham City doing this. Arkham City is a lot of fun. ✌️
Cool Playthrough!! Arkham Knight is my favorite of these games! (Quick tip if you dodge jumping on enemies heads you can preserve your combo indefinitely that way. Gives you breathing room to compose and think of your next move, combat is awesome in arkham games, try to see some high level gameplay of arhkam knights combat it's amazing)
When I first played, that library fight with the two blade guys was also a challenge for me. After a bit I took on a 'divide and conquer' approach. Knock a few down, run to the staircase to the side. They follow you up, but they don't have a chance to surround you. Easier to defeat until you get the hang of a full frontal attack.
I'm a new subscriber and I love the game your playing. I recently just played it but i played the other Batman games first and lastly I played the first game which is a true classic. Keep up the wonderful work, I love it.
Really enjoying the playthrough! The Arkham games are absolute gems, if you're enjoying Arkham Asylum you'll definitely have a good time with the others!
I'm glad you're trying this series! Batman has a unique combo of action & story with plenty to explore in between. Those knife guys though.... They've always been my most annoying opponent!
Btw, in the Scarecrow audiotape on 49:00 Johnathan tortures someone named Doctor Combs. This is the reference to the actor that voiced Scarecrow in "The New Batman Adventures". Also in his another audiotape there was mentioned an incident with Doctor Murphy, which is a reference to Killian Murphy, who played Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins"
Remember that: Destroying teeth, riddle trophies, beat down bad guys and solving riddles give you experiencie to upgrade (you need to upgrade armor first, then the rest of them), use the envirorment to take down bad guys, making noise will alert the other ones, and highly all the time use detective mode, there are LOOOTS of secrets to reveal. As a batman fan, i will say you are doing pretty great job in your game ;), keep going.
33:37 Joker always does this whenever he is asked about his origins. He loves to wind people up by telling multiple stories. Even Batman doesn't know who Joker was before he fell in the chemical vat. Fingerprints, DNA, dental show nothing for him. He's a complete mystery.
Keep upgrading Batman’s armor, and make sure to take down the thugs wielding a knife and bat, press circle to stun them and immediately press square for a combo. 1:01:05 And use detective mode to look for snipers. Oh you can also use the batclaw to grab some riddlers trophy’s from distance 😃🤘
You’re getting a ton better at the combat! As a tip, if you have an enemy that you’re having a particularly tough time with (i.e the knives or other later henchmen), once you get your combo up to x5, you can hit the special takedown (circle triangle) which is unblockable and takes out that single enemy for the rest of the battle. As a fun aside, on your library encounter, you triggered an Easter egg progression when you explored the top first. It happens because the game assumes that you knew the hostages were tied up in the bottom already and you were trying to progress more quickly. If I remember correctly, that’s the only time in this game where exploring an area in full takes a story part out of it, so feel free to continue exploring for the rest of the game!
And a side note to that…. If you enter the library and and immediately grapple up to the top first triggering the progression, without fighting the thugs, they will leave the room instantly and later on they show up after you leave the wardens office. (Also if you don’t grapple and save yourself while you are in Joker’s gas, you hear Batman die laughing historically)
I laughed really hard at you finally finding the vent on the front of the mansion and the umbrellas. Use the combo takedowns. The triangle and circle one particularly
The first game I played in this series was Arkham City. Then I went back and played Arkham Asylum. I was frustrated with the Circle + Triangle combo move too. I didn't think it was possible to press 2 buttons at the same time (dunno why I thought that). So, I would frantically try to press Circle then Triangle in rapid succession not understanding why I couldn't get it to work. I finally figured out that if I lay my thumb length wise across both buttons I could easily press both at the same time.
This is an excelent game! One piece of advice, use the detective mode often, because as the story goes forward, you’ll have to deal with armed enemies. Greetings!
Use the takedown ability. It instantly knocks out one enemy. You can use it anytime you reach 8x combo and it's best to use it on more dangerous enemies like the guys with knives who block your normal attacks.
when your in a room with a bunch of guys with guns do it more stealthy and try and use detective mode the entire time while trying to clear a room it makes it much more easier to see where the enemies are at all times btw this series is amazing can’t wait to watch more of your videos
A little tip from me, use the detective mode so u can see where the snipers are aiming and if they aimed at you then just keep rolling none stop they will always miss, and in combat when u have 5 combos or more use the takedown skill it will knock down an enemy permanently, and use defensive mode in stealth it will help a lot
So I like how you mainly walk around and look at things in the game, rather than just running through the whole game avoiding everything, plus I like how you actually read some of the character bios to learn about them. One thing that I have to be very honest about is the combat, you do have a good sense of how it works, following the thugs with the camera is smart. One thing you can do to keep combos flowing is to double tap the X button around a thug, that makes Batman flip over the guy and avoid all melee damage, it’s something to consider if you can’t counter in time. The combos are also what gives you a lot of XP in the game. I must also give you credit for timing your attacks and not button mashing through it, that’s a great thing to keep doing, especially when you get Critical Strikes. One last thing is that with the knife guys, try to single them out and use the combo takedown, makes it easier to keep the combo going. That’s my input, I really like your gameplay here, I look forward to seeing more videos of this game soon.
Another tip, when you're trying to solve riddles, if it says "object obscured" it means you have but have to zoom in to get it or in the same area of it. There were times it said that but you didn't understand it.
Hi Skyytea! New sub here. This is a fun play-through so far, Your really improving with the combat nicely. Anyway just wanna say the combat takedown prompt O+∆ (for an instant knockout) makes you temporary invincible when its used so you can use it in fights without getting hit or losing your combo! Looking forward to the next part!
To catch the Riddler, you must solve all his riddles. Some will need detective mode to see hidden things like giant ? marks. Use detective mode and zoom in on Wayne Co. in Gotham City.
I think youve been doing pretty great with this game so far. Dont get too frustrated if the controls are a bit, difficult at times. Theyre simple, but theres a lot to remember, and timing is pretty important. Id say, use this game as your training arc, and hopefully, (if you do plan on playing the sequels, which i highly recommend cuz they only get better) you'll be an expert on the play style, for the next games.
You need to be crouched for your silent takedowns. You can also do inverted takedowns while atop the gargoyles by stringing thugs down from them. Be more aggressive in the melee combat segments and focus on a more attack, counter, and counter/attack strategy. I find implementing gadgets during combat tedious. And please please use detective mode for progression and strategical purposes. Love watching you high anticipation for part 4 I CANNOT WAIT to watch you play the Killer Croc section!🎉
Wait.... At like 50:00 she mentions the lunatics, but she hasn't encountered any yet, has she? Or were there some in the courtyard outside the mansion?
Be honest, how’d I do? I’m loving the challenge of playing an older game. The combat seems simple but when you’re in the middle of fighting multiple enemies, it definitely takes skill so props to everyone who’s really good at it. Saw some scores on the leaderboards and I’m shocked that someone has reached 300,000?!?! Anyways, thank you guys for watching! We’ll go find Dr. Young in the next part, maybe? 😊👍🏼
You're doing great, i love streamers playing older gems. Keep up the good work!
You'll get used to the combat, it just takes a lot of time.
I remember being in the top 100 on the Arkham City challenge mode. Back on the PS3.
Ur getting better the riddler trophies n riddlers can't easier believe me
If you just quickly tap certain buttons, you can quick fire batarangs or claws without having to use the menu to select them
It's always fun to see someone experience the Batman Arkham series for the first time. Great playthrough so far!
Thank you for watching 😊
This is easily my new favorite series to watch on UA-cam
same
Hands down
Can't wait for City and Knight!
Thank you Roberto 😊🙏🏼
100%
The Arkham Series was one of my favourite game series I’ve ever played. And seeing someone play it for the first time is awesome. You’re killing it!
I know you don't want to spoil and stuff, but that is not amadeus arkham. After you find all of the chronicles you'll find out who he is.
I subscribed this morning after catching your first two videos of this game! I can’t wait to see your reaction to the series. This is the only game series I’ve repeatedly played and gotten 100% completion on. You’re so in for a treat of a series!
I cannot understate how fun it is to watch Sky play though this classic game.
Glad you are enjoying yourself, Skyy!
You are in for a wild ride with this series.
You’re right that the mysterious voice you’re hearing in the tablets is Amadeus Arkham. He introduced himself in the first part. Be sure to listen to those carefully. There’s an optional mystery to solve at the end. It’s a really cool touch to the game.
Five pointy pointers for you:
-For those sniper situations - stealth situations as well - Detective Mode will be your friend.
Thanks
Wow! Thank you so much Scott! 🙏🏼😊
What an elbow drop at 38:51!! 😮
You're doing great, Skyy!
Thank you for Reading the Character Bios, they are a Great Introduction to the "Batman Lore" for those new to the Franchise
So far your playing is quite decent. These are some tips for you when playing further into the game:
* To increase combos, move your analog stick in the direction you want to attack an inmate, evade over an inmate or away to get a breather.
* Do takedowns, this episode, the tip to do a takedown (circle + triangle) is literally right in front you, which leads to another tip
* Always pay attention to the tips the game is giving regarding the gameplay, it’s there for a reason as the gameplay is complex yet simple at the same time
* Double tapping the batarang and batclaw makes things easier, especially the batarang when up against titan monsters and other villains coming up
* Never be afraid of taking your time in predator sections and using gadgets as well, such as the batclaw to pull down henchmen from walkways and falling straight to the ground knocking them out, and the explosive gel on weak walls, only UA-camr who failed at this is Suzy Lu who didn’t have a fucking clue on how to use it properly.
Great tips. Also Detective Vision should be up when dealing with Snipers.
@@AshBloodfire well, Bane only became that strong due to Comic Book Drug so fair's fair
Another great video!
thanks i was searching for a comments about this
This game never gets old! Awesome play through so far, especially with this being your first time!
If Arkham Asylum is now one of those older more difficult games, then modern games must hold your hand to an extreme level in the last decade
Thanks!
Demitrius! Thank you so much! 😊
2:03 🤣🤣Thats a origin story for you! Yeah it gets a lil more tricky handling multiple enemies at once. You'll get better at it over time. Especially once you get to the other games.
51:39 wait... how'd you know about those guys? I don't think they'd appeared in the game yet 😂
After all these years, this game is still beautiful to look at, fantastic art direction
I love the dialogue between the inmates and joker or any of the other villains. It’s not super important or anything but still interesting to hear what they say. Also I have to say the Scarecrow interview taps are my favorite. He’d make for a really great horror game villain.
I cannot wait to get home to watch this. Seeing you play Arkham is so Beautifully fun.
It’s great seeing another person, get into the Arkham franchise.
Ooh cant wait for the next part . Im addicted to this series ❤️
Awesome video sky n enjoying the fact that ur reading some of the Bios of characters to learn more about them😄👍🏽, combat definitely will get easier with practice so ya got this!!!🙌🏽
*Fun Arkham Timeline for Context:*
Batman: Year One
Batman: Arkham Origins *(Year Two)*
Batman: Arkham Asylum *(Year Ten)*
Batman: Arkham City *(Year Eleven)*
Batman: Arkham Knight *(Year Twelve)*
Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League *(5 Years After Arkham Knight)*
i was going to add years but there's too much debate going around on when these games are actually set.
There is actually a 2 year gap between asylum and city 🙂
This is my favorite game of all time and I’m loving your playthrough so much I can’t wait to see you progress even further!
You're definitely getting better at combat, but you should use detective mode more often to always know where the thugs are and how many are there
I've been playing this game at least once a year since it was released, and it's amazing that I'm finding new things while watching this.
You're playing through my favorite game series, I love the Batman Arkham series, all four games are fantastic, one trick if you love finding Riddler trophies, if you long press the button for your night vision it essentially takes a picture of the trophy and places it on your map, there's especially helpful for the trophies you don't have the correct gadget for
I always click the like button whenever I watch your video, you never disappoint me on these playthrough. Keep up the great work. 😊❤
Also, there’s a riddle you’ve gotten correct but just needed to zoom in to look at them closer for it to accept.
1:03:00
that is supposed to be a joke about people who have played the game before and know to do that so it is funny that you got it on you first playthrough
Nice gameplay. Arkham Asylum is my favourite game of the Arkhamverse. I has loved your playthrough. Congratulations. +1 sub.
I’m so excited to see u play Arkham City your gonna love it
Really enjoying the playthrough!
You're doing great Sky, just keep it up 👍
Remember that: Destroying teeth, riddle trophies, beat down bad guys and solving riddles give you experiencie to upgrade (you need to upgrade armor first, then the rest of them), use the envirorment to take down bad guys, making noise will alert the other ones, and highly all the time use detective mode, there are LOOOTS of secrets to reveal.
As a batman fan, i will say you are doing pretty great job in your game ;), keep going.
Been binge watching since last night😭
W series! 🙌
Always get hyped waking up to new Sky vids
I'm loving this playthrough keep up the great work sky 😎🤘 and hope you're having a blessed and happy Sunday 🙏
lovelovelove these batman videos!!
I laughed really hard at you finally finding the vent on the front of the mansion and the umbrellas. Use the combo takedowns. The triangle and circle one particularly
Hooray, a new video on this wonderful game! Thank you!
Gotta say, you improved a lot in the combat in between episodes
A little tip from me, use the detective mode so u can see where the snipers are aiming and if they aimed at you then just keep rolling none stop they will always miss, and in combat when u have 5 combos or more use the takedown skill it will knock down an enemy permanently, and use defensive mode in stealth it will help a lot
47:35 "i can't remember his name. something asyl...err...arkham" 🤣🤣
Mark Hamill's performance in this as The Joker is absolutely brilliant.
Honestly just thank you for playing this
Another tip, when you're trying to solve riddles, if it says "object obscured" it means you have but have to zoom in to get it or in the same area of it.
Combat is equal parts stealth and action and its a good thing you're taking your time learning both so just keep it up👍
DUDE. I had no idea she didn't have the inverted takedown all this time. oh man this boutta be great
This playthrough is one no one can look away from. I'm on board, every step 🪜 of the way 😁👍
... And you know it!
love your gameplay! great video as always.
Skyyyy it was right there 44:26 🤣😅
You need to be crouched for your silent takedowns.
