I am just 250km (150miles) on mine and my chain is already very slack, so very useful. I am also getting the same exhaust, faux Austin Racing, good to see your reaction now I am even more excited. Happy riding
Good to know. Thanks! I just came back from the dealer after finally checking one out. I’m sold, next month she will be mine. I’ll be on the look out for more updates!👌👍
Saw your post on the cfmoto group on fb the other day, went to adjust my tension earlier today and was struggling till I remembered your post, chain looks great now thanks for the vid🙏🏽
Thanks for the video. I just got the same bike in a 2024 model. I love it but I was worried about my chain tension. The recommended slack amount was 25 to 35 mil, but even at 25 it felt like there was still too much slack in the chain. Granted I didn’t want the chain to be too tight, but that was bugging me. I was glad you showed the kind of tension you had after the adjustment so it kind of gives me a frame of reference as to what normal tension would look like. Ride safe
When you pushed up on the chain initially, before tightening, was it able to touch the swing arm or whatever that is considered above it? (Lol sorry.. my terminology is minimal). I got this bike brand new less than a month ago. Less than 150 miles on it and I was under the assumption it should not be so loose yet.. but im pretty sure mine is too damn loose.
What’s up fellow rider! I’m due for my oil change and was looking into doing it myself after only thinking I should let the dealership do my first but not for the price now. What is the oil filter specs I should be looking for? I’m currently at work but this issue is now an obsession to get resolved and have a few hours before I get home to look at the handbook. Lol thanks!
You'll need 4 qt 10w40 full synthetic 60.00, a new oil plug washer 1.99, and 20.00 CF Moto oil filter. Cost about 82.00 without tax. A dealer service though covers more than just an oil change.
Hi. I've got a new 450 about a month ago and I was wondering do you get a uncomfortable clunk or thud when you change gears? The gear thud or clunk is worse on down shifts. I've taken the bike back to the dealers and they tell me this is normal. Do you get the same thing?
it’s possible to notice a difference in the clutch. I personally didn’t notice a difference. It could be you adjusted yours a little bit more than I did.
Yeah the dealer told my son they would do this for the first service which is basically this plus an oil change. They said 300-400 in labor plus parts. No thanks.
Different size nuts, they made us a favor because not many people have 2 of the same size sockets or wrenches👍

Yeah the chain definitely stretches a lot in the beginning! Glad to hear it!

I just bought my 450ss. More vids like this would be so helpful. Thanks broski!

Excellent instructions! I'll come back to this when I get my bike near break in.

Very well said tutorial ,
Can you top off the stock coolant in this bike with a different name brand, same color coolant?
Yes as long as it's green not orange

My dealership included all services for 2 years. As part of my package.

hmm.. no I don’t get any thud when shifting. It could be harmless i’m not sure if it has anything to do with the way you shift
It's 100% normal.
Just make sure you have enough slack in your clutch lever/cable. 👍
did your clutch feel different after this? mine did.

I can't find specs......neither could dealership tech.

Yeah it’s easy to do yourself!
@@brandonf450 he ordered the same muffler.
Couldn't get my chain even
Its look too tense.. You need put spanner 12 into sprocket teeth while adjusting the chain.
Can you elaborate on what the spammer will do in this situation?
