Ultra has its benefits but X8 is lighter and lasts longer. I guess at this point just wait for the X8 Ultra next month or January to really get a clear idea what's the best option.
just got my x8 pro in Australia, came from flip z 6 & S23 ultra. besides a lack of customizability on the UI i had with good lock this phone is MILES AHEAD... everyone loves Samsung one UI but i had so many issues, lags, crashes with it, the battery camera and general performance feels truly next gen, also note if you use a custom launcher there's a bug that's been around for a while where when your swapping from an open app to the home screen there's a small delay before the launcher opens but its 100$% livable and worth it to switch.

My issue is that the phone currently is selling for £1,049 in the UK and even monthly contracts start from £70 per month. Looks like I will be sticking to my solid Find X5 phone until prices become a bit more reasonable.

To be honest I am struggling to see a reason to go back to OPPO. Due to the lack of UK flagship devices over the last couple of years and as someone who imported the X6 Pro and now uses it as a mobile hotspot only. I'm with their sister company OnePlus and cannot consider changing. I have the 12 with a 1 Tb ROM and 24 Gb of RAM which was flashed with the global ROM and has just upgraded to Oxygen 15/Android 15 and is much improved because of this. For me, and just based on this intro, I prefer the 8 to the 8 Pro, I am so over curved bodies and screens for one, and, it would seem there is really no difference between the image quality. I would therefore lean towards the 8 and not the 8 Pro but cannot justify paying almost double what my 1 Tb OnePlus 12 cost me - £595 from good old AliExpress.
I will be waiting for your review of the Oppo Find X8 Ultra which I believe will be out next year. I am very tempted to go and get the Find X8 Pro as the 02 website has them available to buy..
Maybe do a video calling out OPPO for not including the charger and case in the UK retail packaging when they send it to reviewers to show in unboxing videos
Where are you able to get these in the UK? Prefer the design style of the smaller one. Interestingly I guess the x8 will be the rumoured oneplus 13 smaller version with the snapdragon processor

@@LeviV-2x8 there is only Chinese version, (it should be sold in India though) although it supports many languages at European level, the manufacturer's choice is not to sell it in the rest of the world too. However it does not have some bands which are essential for the European market

Oppo never sold large number of devices in the UK market, so why was there a complaint about their availability? I am pretty sure this 1000+ pound phone won't sell anywhere near Samsung or Apple or OnePlus numbers.

X7 ultra is jacked in camera department..... If I get to choose I would choose x7 ultra instead of regular x8

Vivo X200 Pro has better cameras. A win for me. I own both the latest Vivo and Oppo.

I don't like the placement of the fingerprint reader. It's too low. I think OnePlus 13 does a better job at this; it's placed much higher up.
