Just discovered your channel and I'm loving your videos and analyses. I honestly think Normani might be the best dancer ever. Better than Ciara and, dare I say it, Janet! She can do backflips! And does stuff they can't do, or do as easily. What are your thoughts?
@@ljackson8608 Thank you, so glad you've been enjoying my content! I'll admit I'm not the best person to ask when it comes to declaring someone as the best lol. I'm way too indecisive to make decisions like like that, but I will say that Normani is definitely up there in the top echelon of dancers. She's danced her entire life and is formally trained. She's done gymnastics. I think we probably need to see more from her before we can can give her the title. I feel like "Wild Side" was the first glimpse, at least as far as her solo career, of what she could really do uninhibited dance-wise. On a different note, I would like to see her learn how to let go on stage and be more present. I feel like when she performs sometimes, you can tell that she's in her head about everything instead of enjoying the moment. I think that will come with time as she becomes more confident in herself. I feel Normani has a lot of potential and I pray she is able to fully live up to it. Sorry for this long winded response
I like the song honestly. What Normani did by adding Cardi B was a good business tactic as well. Cardi B’s team is more active and I believe by Normani having Cardi on the song, Cardi and her team (including her fans) will help get the single to pop and urban radio. Cardi’s part on the song was kinda lackluster. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either idk. It felt kinda awkward, like her verse didn’t mesh well with the song. I would have love to see like you mention Bree Runway or Doja. They both would have ate that verse up in my opinion. The music video was very well done. Janet Jackson’s influence on these pop girls is evident and documented through dancing and it’s a wonderful thing to see. I am excited for Normani’s debut album. I do hope she can do a song that is solo, so people won’t write her off as being dependent on other artists to make a hit. Not to say there is something wrong with that, but I believe and the GP wants to see Normani’s individuality, like what makes her stand out amongst her peers. Very excited for this new era of hers.
Cardi and her team have been super active. She has been so supportive of this song and she really doesn't have to be given that it's just a feature for her. I saw on Twitter some people were saying that Cardi was fixing some of the things that Normani's manager and label failed to do. I saw firsthand the issue with UA-cam and how it wasn't on the trending list, but I didn't know about the other stuff, such as Normani's website not having digitals and it not being on the top Spotify playlists.
Agreed, the feature was not a great fit. I think the visuals were so beautiful that it may have influenced how much I actually like the song, but as I listened to the audio, I was thinking something along the lines of Victoria Monet’s Moment visual is what I would have expected. Definitely could see a male feature on this, everyone loves a remix so who knows.
I LOVE the director that did that video for Victoria. I think it would've been interesting to see what he could've done with the song. I agree that the video may have influenced my thoughts on the song itself. I am low key upset that the official song on streaming platforms doesn't have the bridge.
Love the contrast with My Love is Like A Whoa. One of my fav records by Mya. Cardi was definitely not needed but whatever...we move. Great video! Loved your take on it. Sending love and support your way.
Thank you! I'm glad someone else sees it because when I first heard the song and saw the video that's what immediately came to mind. Then when I finished making this video, I started wondering if I was reaching a bit!
I’m just going to say this here the looks ,dancing and cinematography were 👍🏽, but this isn’t a good follow up single🤷🏽♀️ that’s just my opinion. ❤️ her despite this and I want to see what she’s got coming next.
What's your favorite record that Normani has released so far? Do you think this is a strong lead single for Normani?

Completely agree!

Loved it, her vocals were perfect for Aaliyah’s One in a Million. My girl came out swinging, and we have more gifts to come from her I believe
I agree. She did was was supposed to be done 🤎

I respect it. Why do you feel that way? Is it the sample?
@@OurMusicIsOurs it seems disjointed already with her discography but that’s just my opinion.
