I bought the personal size a few months ago. Best few hundred bucks I've ever spent! The quality of my time in the Word is enhanced by being able to read the words so effortlessly, and feeling the pages and cover in my hands. It's awesome.
My husband said if I was going to collect something, I couldn’t choose anything better! The green is gorgeous! Thank-you for this video. I’m going to order the ESV wide margin in green! 💚💚💚
I have the exact same Personal Size Canterbury KJV as you are reviewing here. I always enjoy your reviews. And I am so glad we have a number of publishers now that are making such beautiful premium Bibles.. I learned a lot more about mine thanks to your review. I absolutely love this Bible--the text is so clear and the leather is so beautiful and so smooth. Anyone reading this thinking about getting this Bible--I guarantee that you will love this Bible. One more thing--I have this Bible in the large, this small size and also my wide-margin. All 3 have the exact pagination as you just revealed. Having all 3 is so wonderful.
I have two Bibles (small and large), 30-35 yrs old that need to be replaced. They weren't cheap, but definitely not premium either. I wish I didn't have to replace them, but it is time since they're falling apart. They've been with me through a lot! Some say that $200 is too much to spend. So I did a fun calculation on what I spent in gas going back and forth to church over 30 years (Bible studies, trips, church) . That came out to roughly $2500. Now, comparing that cost to how much more you'd spend for a premium Bible ($100-150 more total), it seems like a no brainer! I have these older Bibles that I will never throw away, but also can't use because they are in such poor condition. And they definitely aren't great for passing down (but I can't just throw away either!). Had I known, I would have spent 10X more for Bibles that would have lasted my lifetime. Here's some more calculations. $200 for a premium Bible comes out to just over $6.00 per year assuming 30 years. That comes out to just over a dime per week. How much might you spend on coffee while reading that Bible vs what you are spending on it? And how much more likely are you to read it if it's of great quality? Anyway, just a different perspective!
Great Review! I have the Schuyler Quentel NASB in a Wide Margin, in Slate. It is big and heavy, but I love it anyway. I use on my desk. I had a difficult time just deciding on the color. They are all beautiful, and you are right; you really need to hold and see one in person to appreciate the quality and beauty of these Bibles. I too wish they had a size between the regular and the personal, that would be perfect!
I am really contemplating full or personal NKJV. I’ve owned both in the past but used to favor personal and this NLT Quentel has me starting to like the full again.
I have till November to figure out what color I want for CSB! Nice to see both the green and brown in you nice quality video! I adore the orange the NIV and NLT came in
what would really be nice is if you placed a ruler between the bibles so we could get a better idea of how big these really are. maybe even weigh them on a small scale (in pounds & ounces of course) so those of us over the age of 70 can decide if we want to hold them upright in our arthritic hands. ;-)
I just received my green ESV Quintel today after watching tons of useful UA-cam videos like yours. My one criticism is that the Concordance print is so so small that it is unusable. I don't know what the font size is but it must be less than 4pt. They should have left it out which they do in the Personal size and it would have made it thinner. I almost got the personal but the font seems a tad too small for me.
I wish the Personal Size Quentel had a concordance and the reference layout like the Cambridge Clarion. Also, the duct taped, coffee stained, character worn Walmart NIVs are just as, if not more, beautiful.
Great comparison video - thanks. Only problem with these bibles is 1). High cost (I know you addressed this, but still…$$$), and 2). They’re so nice that I’d be hesitant to underline/highlight anywhere in either one of them. That said, I just invested in a brown PSQ like yours (they’re in-stock), and it should be delivered next week. Very excited!!!
My only problem with the Quintel is that it is not a verse by verse, which makes reading easier. The personal sized would be just right for my very small hands, but the print is too small. A shame.. I just saw the new purple Quintel, and fell in love..
Oh by the way Schuyler has the NKJV regular size available on back order, it will be the same foot print but will be thinner as they will be using 28 gsm paper instead of the 36 gsm. The Bible is due June 👍🏻
@@AlexanderHonsVonEber I would suggest the NKJV Classic Reference Bible it's bold comfort print verse by verse here is a link to a break Bible review ua-cam.com/video/Sc_RNGn8tg8/v-deo.html
@@AlexanderHonsVonEber They do still make this Bible on 36 gsm but only in the NIV. I have one in the NIV and I love but not sure if that is your preferred version
@@AlexanderHonsVonEber The Canterbury wide margin is great. It is almost 2 in thick the paper is 38 gsm and the font is 9.5 Milo. You may also like the RL Allan Longprimer 53 that is nice bold print and is about 10.5 font.
Hey there, thank you so much for this video. After watching I decided to purchase the Personal version. Question, I have been on the hunt to look for a Bible with thicker pages, meaning I just feel like most or all bibles have pages that feel like they will rip very easily. When I received this Bible I was a tiny disappointment to see that the pages weren’t a little thicker (my hopes). Please tell me what you think! Thank you
Bibles are WAY cheaper than TV's & Cell phones, both of which you use everyday. Cost per wear, you should break even. Leather boots sometime don't make it 2 seasons!
The full size Quentel is very readable for most people and is available in the NASB (evangelicalbible.com/product-category/schuyler-bibles/schuyler-thinline-quentel-nasb/).
Does Schuyler have anything in a large..or giant print? I understand that Schuyler uses a darker type font, and Thst is very important to me. It’s a deal breaker, in fact. If I ever break down, and purchase a premium Bible p, it will probably be a Schuyler. I like the look, and the quality.
The regular size quentel is an 11pt font which is pretty large for any Bible. They should have pdf printouts on their website so you can get a look before you buy.
The pages are line matched and do not have a lot of show through. The full size Quentel has thicker paper than the personal size. Neither Bible has "thick" paper, but both have very good quality paper (does not feel flimsy like tissue paper).
The 200 bowling ball will most likely help in improving one’s game with a better built. A 200 bible will merely look pretty. You can get decent font size and all that Jazz for much less. I don’t mind people buying things just because they are pretty, mind you, but the two are clearly distinct.
Burnes Hollyman hmmm I wouldn’t say that it is so small it’s not readable, it’s just when you compare the regular to the psq you feel like something in between would be perfect.
The personal is 8 point font? So if you have any Bibles around that you can compare. I have an Omega and a heirloom thinline and it's crazy how different it feels going between the two.

I did get the PSQ Quentel in the New King James version today in BLUE and as you say once you hold it you are converted for life.

Haha I have the same dilemma. To highlight or not to highlight that is the question.
I wish Schuyler would sell all of their text blocks in a hardcover. I just love that text block with or without the premium cover.
NKJV PREMIER IN THIS STYLE IS BEAUTIFUL IN BLUE GOATSKIN. ..ALSO VERSE X VERSE CENTER COLUMN REFERENCE IS VERY READABLE.
Cambridge needs to make a darker print ESV, then I'd jump. It'd be a dream if Schuyler did it.

Isn't the CAMEO a good choice for a small BIBLE? 8 point FONT I think.
But the PSQ at 8.5 font is very inviting.
I live in the uk £50 for postage is ridiculous especially when you think Allan will ship world wide for free
Does the NASB psq have the same 95000 cross references and 17000 translation footnotes that a quentel NASB has?
Nelson premier does some good BIBLES..NKJV .
Thank you so much!
What are the dimensions on these?
I have a psq
Hope to get a dull size soon because of my eyes
Another great video bro... I subscribed
Awesome! I appreciate it, bro!
A Frisch Perspective you’re welcome
I have sight issues. Can you recommend a bible that is very readable? Preferably NASB. Thanks

I HAVE QUENTEL AND PSQ IN GREEN. PSQ A BIT SMALL FONT FOR ME. BUT NICE TO HOLD.
Font size please!!! So important to know.
11pt for Quentel and 8.5pt for Personal Size :)
Crossway and Nelson have a happy medium bible . personal size large PRINT. ESV and NRSV.
I need at least a 11 or 12 pt fount...😞

Why doesn’t Schuyler make the words of Christ in red for other translations? I just see KJV/NKJV with that option.
Are the pages thick (opaque)?
The pages are line matched and do not have a lot of show through. The full size Quentel has thicker paper than the personal size. Neither Bible has "thick" paper, but both have very good quality paper (does not feel flimsy like tissue paper).

What is font size on personal side Quentel.
They say the font size in the Personal Size Quentel is approximately 8.5
Do you sell any ESV RL ALLEN Study Bibles?
I don't own an Allan ESV Study Bible. Sorry
I like my Thomas nelson premier Bible verse 12 point easy read Fount ..🙏
Does Schuyler use Cambridge or Oxford text?
Schuyler has their own typeface
Any interest in selling the PSQ?
What size fount is this one? Did you say?
8.5 in small.
11 point in bigger one.
Too close to the camera to tell its actual size.
The people who say spending $200 on a bible is crazy are the ones who will spend $200 on a bowling ball.
The 200 bowling ball will most likely help in improving one’s game with a better built. A 200 bible will merely look pretty. You can get decent font size and all that Jazz for much less.

That said there is also the argument for durability. Didn’t mention that cause he does in the clip.
Quentel is too big, personal is too small.
Is the PSQ really that small? I have the regular size which is magnificent but want the PSQ. But I am anxious I will get it and find it hard to read.
Burnes Hollyman hmmm I wouldn’t say that it is so small it’s not readable, it’s just when you compare the regular to the psq you feel like something in between would be perfect.
