Stingray was a series that first aired in 1964 and had many practices that were carried over into it's successor in Thunderbirds. So in this retrospective you can see where a lot of Gerry Anderson's common-practice techniques were first seen

Did you watch Stingray? what did you enjoy about it? Post your comments down below.
Shouldn't it be 60 instead of 50?
@@tomcurda4203for this year, yes. But this was originally uploaded onto Blip in 2014.
Yes, I did watch the series.
One time I saw Stingray toy in a store on HIGHWAY 14.
My mum and I always used to say! "Anything can happen in the next half hour! That was delightful to watch!Thank you! R.I.P mum and dad!
You’re welcome
Iam so sorry that you have lost your mum and dad I know how it feels 1st my grandma then great Uncle Dennis and Auntie Lizzie then my grandpa died
I just loved the rapid drumming of Marineville’s battle stations alarm in the title intro.
same. Really sets the tone
I really loved Stingray & Fireball XL5 as a kid. Enjoyed re-watching from a friend's DVD set 🫠😊!
I remember them all of course! being 67 now,!
I was only 9 years old but remember running down the lane from my primary school to get home to watch stingray,
and do we all remember the "stingray ice lolly!" delicious, good old kids fun even in black and white....
X 20 and titan were hilarious..and aquaphibians/mechanical fish...crack me up..still do...the incidentle music by barry gray in all gerry Anderson series ..added to the excitement...just brilliant 👏 not to mention the special effects...usually created by the late great Derek meddings..and his crew...went on to bond movie's genius...gazz,
Mariiiinaaa, aqua Mariinaaa
in answer to your question I love love loved the stories, the sets, the this is who I want to be when I grow up but that song, in fact all the music ~ the triumphant theme tune and finally...
dum diddle dum dum,
dum diddle dum dum
still fill me with excited joy.
Mind-blowing For 1964 British television❤"No words!"
I watched that when I was young kid
Such a camp presentation.
Meh. I’ve been told worse. But glad you liked it 👍
It's not exactly a case of Titan destroying Pacifica of either were to speak; more that Titan cursed them so that someone would die if either spoke. A guard dies when Aphony speaks after the apparent curse in "Marina Speaks", but it's unclear if Titan secretly killed this guard on cue in order to force his "curse", or if the curse is genuine. Aphony and Marina, therefore, remain silent, in case the next person who dies from the curse is each other; it's their love for one another that silences them, basically. Pretty deep for a children's marionette show.
Verry deep.
Thanks for commenting
"itd be effectively having a Thunderbirds episode with only 5 minutes of a rescue" so the 2004 movie? :P
+Tone 720 yeah, pretty much. Good insight
I still say "Stand by for action!" (Yes, my kids do roll their eyes. "It's just a turkey, dad...") Anything can happen in the next half hour...
600 kts underwater? That's about 690mph, and water doesn't compress, so that's impressive!
Phones is kind of like Jafo from Blue Thunder...
I always wanted to see a movie where Stingray takes on Jaws!!!!!! Lol!!!!!🤣🤣🤣 Starring Brazilian Actor Reynaldo Gianecchini as Troy and Brad Pitt as Phones!!!!!
Tried the 'Stingray' wargame, MJ? boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/66699/stingray-stingray... I remember 'Fireball XL5' and 'Stingray' (in b/w) the first time around. I liked 'Thunderbirds' when it came along, but 'Stingray' has a special place in my affections and memories.
I was not aware of the Board Game. It might have been something I would have loved back in the day. Only Board Games I tend to play whenever I do is Monopoly.
But, thank you for bringing that to my attention and for commenting
7:46 - 7:59 ..........oh dear lord?! That would not fly today, and my reaction speaks volumes
But there's no need to re-repeat your distressed state.
Doing so, in my book, lessens the impact of what one's trying to highlight. Rather in the way of
"The lady doth protest too much."
The second most fiendishly usrlessly designed submarine ever! The most was Thunderbird 4!
Interesting. I remember seeing this on itv in the 60's.
I didn't realise, until just now, that Agent X20 looks like Parker.
Anyway, I never really liked the show. Mainly because the primary events of the whole show were shown at the beginning, which meant you'd already seen the end, so watching the whole episode was utterly pointless.
Still, it had its uses. I could watch the intro, get the gist, then turn the telly off and go out to play, giving myself an extra 20 minutes of playtime.
NERD.....
Your point would be what? 😏
Totally brilliant. Great memories. Replace God save big ears with Stingray theme tune
