- My Experience with 150mg of Zoloft (Sertraline)
Sharing my experience and side effects of taking 150mg of Zoloft (or, Sertraline), for the past couple months. Over a year ago, I started out with 50mg, increased to 100mg months later, and now, here we are. I get messages and comments from you guys daily regarding how this medication is currently effecting me and how it's going. Please seek out a mental health professional for any questions about this medication. In these videos, I try to be as informative and possibly overly-revealing but I am not a mental health professional. I can only share my experience with you guys. Other than that, I'm ill-equipped.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing this and being vulnerable with strangers on the internet. It's taken me a lot of time to accept my diagnosis. I was doing everything I could holistically for years, but your channel actually gave me the strength to give it a shot. After a month I finally feel lighter, less brain fog and I can see a significant difference in completing tasks, how I handle conflict, and in general my daily life. I really can't believe I was functioning in the mental space I was in for so long. So, needless to say once more: thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Beaming while reading this!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I’m glad you’re feeling better ❤️🙌🏼 keep at it taking care of yourself, wishing you nothing but the best. 😉
What was the brain fog like for you?
Serotonin is an ancient chemical communicator found in big chunk of life forms involving plants, animals and algae.
They have myriad functions. Humans till now never achieved a clarity on how these systems works. Simply stopping reuptake and making available more serotonin is foolishness. The compounded effect of that on interconnected systems cannot be predicted. Many of those are permanent dysfunctions. SSRIs are utter rubbish. Modern medicine is increasingly put forwarding many hypothesis' akin to physicists, but that approach will not work with complicated still unexplored systems like brain and cns. Humans first should study more about brain and cns, then things will become more clearer.
Anyway this is not the right time to market a drug like SSRIs.
@@_SarahElizabethI’m curious how are you doing? Are u still using Zoloft
The same happened to me. When I got my diagnosis, I tried everything I was exercising every day, meditating every day, quit alcohol for a year... Then I got even worse and it felt so bad for months that I decided to give antidepressants a go. I am so glad I did
shes super cool!! Thanks for making these videos. Ive just started meds and its starting to work. Videos like these give me hope and help everyone in making a choice. And I would say this has been the smartest choice of my life, to start meds. Thanks for your bravery and compassion. Opening your life and heart to help strangers is extremely rare. We need to be more like you when it comes to the mental health community.
I’m on 200mg a day and it has completely changed my life for the better.
That's wonderful!! Happy for you!

@@marieschrader9150 I take it (50mg) in the morning. I've felt foggy and nauseous on the first 3 days (tends to strike around halfway during the day) but these effects started becoming less apparent on day 4-5.

thank you so much for sharing! you have no idea how helpful this was for someone also taking zoloft :)
I think I'm experiencing the same. I've been on 50mg for 5 months and I'm just not responding to this dose to the degree that I feel I should be. Thank you for sharing.
This gave me the courage to try my medication & let go of the anxieties I was feeling about trying it 🖤 so thank you!
Oh wow! Thank you so much for sharing! Wishing you nothing but the best 😉🙌🏼
Please see a functional med dr or a naturopath first. If your gut is off either with parasites, the bacteria is off or a candida overgrowth it can cause significant mental health issues.
When your body is toxic or is not getting the nutrients it needs it can react with mental health issues.
Detox your body, get a structured water system, eat heirloom/heritage foods, stay away from GMOs processed foods, sugar, gluten. Sungaze, meditate. Microdosing with psilocybin is very helpful.
This medication is very dangerous. Just search fb.
@@gisp4622 I'm lost...🤯 Lol
I was on 50mg for 4 year's and doing well, during covid my anxiety got worse. I'm a practical person and couldn't cope with all the contradictions and control going on with lockdowns and freedom's pulled from underneath us people dying and getting sick etc . So I went to the doctor and he prescribed 100mg been taking it for the last week,so and I'm feeling better already. He also said that I'll probably have more energy on the 100mg than the 50mg which was very low. it's a chemical imbalance that we have no control over. I'm back out fishing and hiking etc again so it's definitely working 🙂
Oh wow!! Thank you so much for sharing! That’s great news. I’m really happy for you. ❤️ I need to go hiking, that sounds fun. 🙌🏼
Just been moved up to 150, I know this video is old and things have been changing for you but just letting you know I appreciate that you took the time to share this part of your experience

Psilocybin containing mushrooms saved my life. The drastically reduced my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quite illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would had became medically dangerous to quit. It has also helped me survive depression.
That’s awesome!! I’m glad you found something that helps! I’m hopeful that this approach for mental health will become more accepted in the near future.

I've been on Zoloft for close to 9 years now at a 150mg dose. At around 6 weeks in I reflected back and could see that the mood improvement occurred 4 weeks in. It was a game changer for me. I experimented the dosing early on, after reaching the 100mg target I tried 150, then 200 for a short time then back to 150.
Do you drink caffeine? Or even wine or champagne randomly? Just asking for myself.
@@TallMama321 I drink caffeine daily in the morning. I hardly ever drink wine or champagne but that was true before Zoloft. If I do drink it's beer or occasionally a scotch or rum. I cut back my drinking a fair bit though since going on Zoloft and that is mainly because I also take Klonopin and have Panic Disorder, that is my main diagnosis. I hardly drink that much anymore, 2 drinks with friends on the weekend is as wild as I get lol.

I'm on 150 mg sertraline for 2 years now. It has helped a lot but I still can't go out to get a haircut at the salon or go to the grocery store. I start feeling anxious and restless. Also the thing with Sertraline is its side effects. I experience impaired motor movement every day which just makes me feel low because it doesnt make me feel like a normal person with normal movement of hands and legs. I'm 23 and I just hope I can stop this medication in a few years. Thanks for this video 💗
Have you tried Effexor
thank you for destigmatizing antidepressants, its really important. i feel so many people still dont understand how they work and they are all getting treatment and help from plant medicine or other shit like psilopsybin or LSD which dont have any backed up studies around them at all, and can actually be more harmful to the brain too. you are very lovely btw 😘
Thank you so much!!
@@_SarahElizabeth 😊
Hi, thanks for the video. I might be wrong but I think in your previous videos you were at a lower dose and already thriving, so my question is what happened? What made your doctor increase your dosage? Thanks!
Thank you for this!
I was on Zoloft since 2017 because of my social anxiety, Panic disorder and Agoraphobia. In October 2020, I decided to stop taking it as a challenge. The first two months were so depressing. Then after that my Agoraphobia got worst. I couldn't go to the Super markets or just leave my house. I decided to go back and start taking it yesterday. I couldn't handle it anymore. It was emotionally and physically tiring. I am dealing with the side effects right now even with 25mg. Zoloft helped me finish my school and travel a lot.
yes Mouad , i know exactly what u say there , but....life is beautiful ! enjoi 'it!
OMMG me too I started 2018 and I wanted to stop since my life was already falling apart even with the zoloft, bad idea
I’m back on it
I did the same thing, I challenged myself for like a year and ended up falling off the deep end, makes me think I need sertraline to function but thats okay.
I’ve been on Sertraline for two years and i’ve only just recently been bumped up to 125mg and soon to be 150mg. I’m 14 and It’s useful to see how it has helped everyone through their personal experiences. This video is incredibly insightful and helps those who aren’t familiar with the medication itself.
UPDATE: i’m now 15 and have taken sertraline for 3 years. i’m on the highest dosage for my age which is 200mg. it’s not helping as much as it used to, however, i’m exploring different medications with my psychiatrist to see if they help more. please do comment questions if you have any queries. i personally believe it’s a good first anti depressant to be put on.

Hi Sarah ! I wonder what are your thoughts on anti depressant and creativity? I am currently on zoloft right now i just started one month ago . Normally when I become depressed i eill be thinking about sad songs , music videos , ideas that I can come up with . And i feel like my depression due to my traumatic experience is helping in some way of coming up with these concepts
However , i am afraid to lose these creativity and ability to come up with these things when I stop being depressed . What if I just keep feeling happy and not feel sad any more to come up with ideas that can make an emotional impact ? i wonder what are your thoughts?
I understand what you mean -- when I've been really low, I've written some of my favorite pieces, however, now with Zoloft, I think I'm able to articulate those ideas better. I am now able to explore and remember what certain instances and memories felt like, and not become consumed by the negative feelings. It's like I just dip my toes into the shallow end of the pool and see how I respond to it.
I think if someone is creative, they will continue to create, because that's what we do. You might check out Stephen King's book, On Writing -- he talks about this very thing in that book and also Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Her book has a chapter devoted to this topic and I agree with her. Hope this helps. I'm curious to see what others post on this comment thread too. ;) Try and keep the habit of staying creative, even when you don't feel like. You might be surprised to see what comes out.
I was on zoloft 150mg for a while but everytime I took it I would got very sick. Light headed and vomiting.
I'm not taking anything now and I'm going through a severe depression and honestly forever wish it worked out for me like it works for you because it's so fucking hard right now.
However, I am so happy for you and that its working!
I’m so sorry you’re going through such a hard time. Do you have a therapist or psychiatrist you can talk to? I hope things get better soon, please continue to take care of yourself and try to talk to someone about how bad it is right now. I hope you can find some relief soon. ❤️
@KANDEMACKJACK my doctor and I communicated through the entire process. She started me with 25mg for 45 days. Then went to 50 for 45 days, 100 for 45 days, then 150. 100 had no effect 150 did but it made me very sick.
Abilify is good for treatment resistant depression Read up on it. I’ve been on 2 mg for 10 years now and no relapse into depression. I take 25 mg Zoloft with it. Good luck 🤞
I can't get out of this bad depression dip usually I can but this one I can't get myself out I have a 5 year old and my depression and anxiety is taking me away from him and I'm in a constant state of anxiety and depression and I get irritated with him when I shouldn't be, it's not anything he has done but I'm edge all day and it's effecting him and I've heard alot of great things about Zoloft and I think I need to give it a try
Make sure you mention the anger issue with your doctor before starting Zoloft. I've been on it for 5 months and while I'm glad the sexual side effects went away after 3 months I then started experiencing explosive anger issues. I'd be in the store and just start screaming at someone over something trivial. After it happened a few times I looked into it and saw other UA-cam vids talking about the anger side effects as well. Good luck!
Did you get side effects from going up in dose?? For how many days??
Thank you. You look good by the way
im still waiting ...been 5 weeks and just want that change...me psychiatrist has also upped it to 150mg
Hè Sarah. Im also on sertraline 100 mg sertraline. And i have some questions.
What did change from you when u went from 100 to 150. I feel most of the time flat. No libido and ED. I worry about it. My problem is ocd and anxiety. The anxiety is most under controle. But the no libido the no fire in my LIFE. Can you give your experciene on this pls. I cant make a choice cause.it can be medication, ocd OR depression .
You probably mentioned this already, but do you drink caffeine? I’m on 50 mg and I drink coffee sometimes but I feel like it makes me more anxious.
That’s a great point! I haven’t talked about that yet. I do drink caffeine but try to limit it each day. I love coffee but I have the same reaction to it as you. I’ve been cutting down on how many cups I’ll drink in a day and that’s helped. I’ll also drink water whenever I drink coffee or a soda.
I've asked my dr about Zoloft and alcohol he said it's fine just as long as it's not often I drink maybe a few 2 or 3 times a year I'm planning on quitting completely hard when you gone through trauma and depressed but do it eventually it's not that I think alcohol is bad for you if you do it a few times a year I think it's fine just in moderation but it's just something that I don't think I need at all and probably better with out really
So the dose will be constantly increased? It’s a bit scary. Also how long can you stay on it. I mean I don’t want to stay on meds all my life, just way to use it as a tool to help me find the way out of depression really!
Sarah when you went up to 100 did it take you more than a few weeks for it to level out because I’m starting to feel like shit I’m going from 50 to 100 after three weeks today
I have just been bumped up to 150mg sertraline, I'm going to take your advice and not drink whisky , I have contamination reassurance seeking OCD and my CBT therapist said she does not know what to do with me .......I couldn't beleive she said that , do you think I need a psychiatrist? Its basically everything I touch I think I'm contaminating my hands look so old and wrinkly from constant washing.
I have ocd. My maxim dosis was 150. That was good days but its like i dont remember the things i lived during that time. Now i dont take anything nit rodat i etarres again. With 25 mg. that can happen?
You’re so giddy. Hope it keeps working. I’m just waiting for it to end. Nothing works for me.
You seem so happy.. 😊 Im on day 14 taking zoloft and idk if it's working or not I don't feel good nor bad just kind of existing.. I haven't really laughed out loud in a while idk if it's just my personality now or something mental🤔

You got this! I’m rooting for you 😉
What will happen when you reach the highest dosage ,are you scared of having it stop working and than can't raise the dosage more ?I am scared of high doses ,but I know I need them 😢
Don't be afraid to take a higher dosage. I started with 50mg Sertraline and after 4 months I went up to 150mg. After that I started feeling great. Normally SSRIs don't stop working. I started with Venlafaxine 19 years ago but had to change to Sertraline in 2020 due to high blood pressure. SSRIs never lost effect on me.
@@mudigowayed510 … I was on citalopram for 10 years and that seemed to just stop working for me as I became anxious and depressed again and I couldn’t get the dosage upped because I was on the 40mg dose so I am now on sertraline (50mg)and have been for the last 8 weeks I’m just starting week 9 I was starting to feel a bit better but the last 3 day’s my mood has dipped and I’ve become anxious again I’m hoping I just need my dosage upped to 100mg
@@johnnyoldskool6504 Absolutely. Increase your dosage. You can increase Sertraline up to 200mg a day. The most important thing is to use the full dose if the effect is not optimal. If that doesn't help you can consider taking other classes of antidepressants. I wish you the best.
Hey Sarah! :) I keep re-watching your video to hear about the side effects and I guess I'm missing it. lol Did you notice any side effects when you upped the dosage on Zoloft? I'm currently on 25 mg and I'm thinking about upping it up to 50 mg. In the beginning, I felt a lot of fatigue. I've been taking it for almost two months now. So, my question is, would I experience fatigue again if I up the dosage? lol What was your experience? Thanks in advance.
You’re right! Thank you for pointing this out, I’m going to change the title of the video so it’s more accurate. I noticed migraines but was also using a ring light for my online classes. I think what I was experiencing was a combination of upping the dosage and that light. I ditched the ring light and my migraines went away, so it is hard to say in regards to that side effect. That was the only side effect I experienced. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt 😉 I think if you experienced fatigue before, it might would be likely you could experience that again with a higher dosage but I don’t know. If you can, if I were you, I would bring this up with a psychiatrist and see what they say. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help & thank you for sharing 🙌🏼 wishing you nothing but the best! ❤️

Hi Amanda are you still taking zoloft 25mg or 50mg? Still have side effects? I am taking 25mgs for a week now, but the side effects very bad for me, very dizzy, tummu/chests tightness, stomach upset.
Do u need to keep upping the dose?
Hi sara did you have side affects wen you wen up the dose?
Yes, I suffered from some migraines for about a week, but that also might be due to using a ring light for my online classes I was in. When I ditched the ring light, my headaches went away so I'm thinking the ring light was more of the cause to feeling a little crummy. Other than that, that is the only thing I've noticed since upping the dosage.
I have severe contamination obsessive compulsive disorder always seeking reassurance, my wife says it's like I'm scared of life obsessed about everything that comes in contact with me, I've been on paroxetine 60mg .....no good , I'm on 50mg sertraline now , ...still washing my hands and cannot shut up obsessing , I'm 51, and probably only 20 years left now and I want to be normal , I'm gonna ask my doc to increase my dose. Do you experience any sexual side effects ?
I'm on 25Mg too scared to take it due to side effects.
I'm drinking and taking 20mg escitalopram. I've been given zoloft 25mg because she couldn't bump up my escitalopram. I hope I don't develop serotonin syndrome lol
I feel wierd putting chemicals in my body. I just started 50mg and it isnt working but Im using it for ocd, I guess it will take longer.
Are you taking anything else with it? Xanax or Klonopin?
i've been on 100mg for a year but still low mood and anxiety so the doctor wants me to trial it at 150mg but i'm nervous!
I will wait for my person at the mental health clinic to up my dosage to 100mg of Zoloft at my follow up. I am happy on 50mg dose of Zoloft right now.
How are you
SSRI don't work for everyone. Nearly 40% don't benefit. For many it's a long search for the proper antidepressant. There are different classes of antidepressants. If a class doesn't work change to another class. But SSRIs have at least the least side effects. There are a few people who have chronic depressions. Unfortunetely help for them is very limited.
Zoloft works for me! Currently on a 50mg dose thank you very much.
Omg that laugh at the beginning makes me want this sruff to HURRY UP and finally kick in!!!!
I currently only on 25 mg zoloft . Struggling to adjust them because i fall asleep right after taking them and feel tired even the next day :( which sucks because i am a night person I like to be up all night and get things done.

150mg seems like a huge dose. I’m on 50mg currently. I’ve only heard of Americans being recommended such high doses. Is this normal? And is situational stuff like covid lockdowns really a reason to increase dosage? Not saying it’s wrong but I’m not sure I agree with the method.
150mg to 200 mg is the limit, i am on 150mg though i might get it lowered to 100mg soon since ive improved.
And yeah, it does seem like alot, but if its needed it does help, ive been taking antidepressants since covid started, since lockdowns isolate you from the outside world they do tend to make you depressed (i was already depressed, lockdown just made it worse haha)
I’m beginning to feel like this is not a miracle drug. I feel as though it’s supposed to get people over the hump and from there it’s up to you to make changes in your life.
That's how much I take as well
Have you had any issues with weight gain while taking zoloft?
I’ve been on sertraline for about 6 months now. I’m on 150 mg and I haven’t gained weight. It was one of my concerns, so I’ve been sure to keep physically active (running, some weights etc), and I have stayed the same weight. SSRIs do seem to make me ravenously hungry though, so I have to have some will-power when it comes to the volume of food I eat.
Awesome
I'm on 150 mg a day (today I got my increase)!!
Ooh cool! I hope it works for you, I'm rooting for you!! ;)
Do you experience any sexual side effects ?
I'm on 25Mg too scared to take it due to side effects.
Took first pill a few minutes ago. Trying 25mg for a while before upping to 50mg. Nervous and scared of what's going to happen.
You will be just fine, please try to relax 🙂
Go for a 100 😉
How you feeling now?
I’m on 25 mg Zoloft and I feel calmer with less intrusive thoughts 👍🏻

I also took Sertraline 150 mg from last 5 months, my mood of pretty good, but it makes me so much nauseous, what is the solution for this?
Happens with me too sometimes. I'm on 150mg as well. Do you feel socially anxious even on zoloft? Asking because I still experience that

Como sigues,aumentaste la dosis?
Can I please ask if it doesn't make you feel less able to concentrate and memorize... if you don't feel like your cognitive abilities have decreased a lot since starting to take it... because I feel so for me... Thank you for sharing and I'm happy for you
no ShE depression make this problem of decrease concentration and this not antidepressants, zoloft helped decrease symptoms of depression.
150 MG. You look veneers happy. Seems like a right dosage. God please.
I was on lexapro for my depression it made me feel really tired. And now I’m starting Zoloft hope it works 🤞

Zoloft was the most commonly prescribed antidepressant in the USA in 2018 with over 38 million prescriptions.
Is Mohammad khadra Is it best than ectilopram??
Hey so will wine effect being on zoloft?
I think so, alcohol is a depressant. I think for the benefits of taking this medication, staying sober is the best option. But, this is just my opinion. Please make sure to talk with a mental health professional and they can help with any questions you might have much, much better than I can. Thanks for watching and I'm wishing you nothing but the best! ;)
@@_SarahElizabeth Thank you so much for your reply. Thank you for your videos as well. Im on 100mg zoloft been on it for 4weeks now I feel alot better than I did before.
You can, it is safe, however it could reduce the positive effects of Sertraline !
Sarah is correct, alcohol is for sure a depressant!
Sertraline stopped me getting any lower. Potentially preventing suicide. However after 6 months...I was still incapacitated. I decided to research and research and research. For me. Testosterone replacement and carnivore diet changed my life. So it was hormones and diet. I no longer need Sertraline. My daughter is the same. Her anxiety and depression was held at a level with Sertraline. But again...it was hormones and diet that changed her life. And my wife...again 😂 hormones and diet. We are a settraline free household.
BIO available hormones are what your asking your endocrinologist to check. Not your total. Total means nothing. It's all about the BIO available. Maybe worth investigating for anyone suffering with depression and anxiety.
How did you manage to go off of sertaline? My psychiatrist has advised me to continue Zoloft 150mg and only stop when she says to. Are withdrawal symtoms bad? Even when I'm on sertraline I feel socially anxious to some level. It isn't worse but still somewhat of a problem
I've read that high dosages can seriously affect gut biosis in the long term. This will eventually effect one psychologically as well.
Not as long as you go slow in raising your dosage of Zoloft tho
Was on 100mg gone to 150mg no change yet after a week?
Hi, Bill. How are you doing 6 months later?
@@glimon805 so so, better but not what i expected seems like time healing slowing slightly helped compared to upping the dose
Why did my brain read the thumbnail as “the 150mg Zoloft Challenge” 😂
Haha!! I kind of love that!!! 😂🙌🏼
Do these tablets effect your sex life ? Some people have problems ?
I heave 50 mg rights now
Make them addicted to those pills. 10 year client
I view it differently. Without this medication, I would have killed myself.
@@_SarahElizabeth just do something you like, go shopping, do sports, hang out whit friends etc. All psych drugs makes you a zombie, SSRIs makes you numb and asexual. You change the depression for nothingness. There's no magic pill. As a side effect increase suicidal thoughts is listed on your medication.
@@nadadenada319 thats just one form of experiencing ssri.
@@nadadenada319 bruh u know one of depression symptoms is losing the enjoyment in eveything...
You have no facing real severe depression . Its a pure hell.. ppl commit suicide without antidepressant or on them. They Just a little help. Theres ppl with horrendous trauma, sexual abuse, most coward bulliying . Those how suffer silently depression Just kill themself without seeking help. Holistic , or wester medicine.
