  • My Experience with 150mg of Zoloft (Sertraline)
    Sharing my experience and side effects of taking 150mg of Zoloft (or, Sertraline), for the past couple months. Over a year ago, I started out with 50mg, increased to 100mg months later, and now, here we are. I get messages and comments from you guys daily regarding how this medication is currently effecting me and how it's going. Please seek out a mental health professional for any questions about this medication. In these videos, I try to be as informative and possibly overly-revealing but I am not a mental health professional. I can only share my experience with you guys. Other than that, I'm ill-equipped.

    Just wanted to say thank you for sharing this and being vulnerable with strangers on the internet. It's taken me a lot of time to accept my diagnosis. I was doing everything I could holistically for years, but your channel actually gave me the strength to give it a shot. After a month I finally feel lighter, less brain fog and I can see a significant difference in completing tasks, how I handle conflict, and in general my daily life. I really can't believe I was functioning in the mental space I was in for so long. So, needless to say once more: thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

    • @sarathua1976

      Serotonin is an ancient chemical communicator found in big chunk of life forms involving plants, animals and algae.
      They have myriad functions. Humans till now never achieved a clarity on how these systems works. Simply stopping reuptake and making available more serotonin is foolishness. The compounded effect of that on interconnected systems cannot be predicted. Many of those are permanent dysfunctions. SSRIs are utter rubbish. Modern medicine is increasingly put forwarding many hypothesis' akin to physicists, but that approach will not work with complicated still unexplored systems like brain and cns. Humans first should study more about brain and cns, then things will become more clearer.
      Anyway this is not the right time to market a drug like SSRIs.

      Please see a functional med dr or a naturopath first. If your gut is off either with parasites, the bacteria is off or a candida overgrowth it can cause significant mental health issues.
      When your body is toxic or is not getting the nutrients it needs it can react with mental health issues.
      Detox your body, get a structured water system, eat heirloom/heritage foods, stay away from GMOs processed foods, sugar, gluten. Sungaze, meditate. Microdosing with psilocybin is very helpful.
      This medication is very dangerous. Just search fb.

    I was on 50mg for 4 year's and doing well, during covid my anxiety got worse. I'm a practical person and couldn't cope with all the contradictions and control going on with lockdowns and freedom's pulled from underneath us people dying and getting sick etc . So I went to the doctor and he prescribed 100mg been taking it for the last week,so and I'm feeling better already. He also said that I'll probably have more energy on the 100mg than the 50mg which was very low. it's a chemical imbalance that we have no control over. I'm back out fishing and hiking etc again so it's definitely working 🙂

    I was on Zoloft since 2017 because of my social anxiety, Panic disorder and Agoraphobia. In October 2020, I decided to stop taking it as a challenge. The first two months were so depressing. Then after that my Agoraphobia got worst. I couldn't go to the Super markets or just leave my house. I decided to go back and start taking it yesterday. I couldn't handle it anymore. It was emotionally and physically tiring. I am dealing with the side effects right now even with 25mg. Zoloft helped me finish my school and travel a lot.

    Hi Sarah ! I wonder what are your thoughts on anti depressant and creativity? I am currently on zoloft right now i just started one month ago . Normally when I become depressed i eill be thinking about sad songs , music videos , ideas that I can come up with . And i feel like my depression due to my traumatic experience is helping in some way of coming up with these concepts
    However , i am afraid to lose these creativity and ability to come up with these things when I stop being depressed . What if I just keep feeling happy and not feel sad any more to come up with ideas that can make an emotional impact ? i wonder what are your thoughts?

    • @_SarahElizabeth
      @_SarahElizabeth  3 роки тому +5

      I understand what you mean -- when I've been really low, I've written some of my favorite pieces, however, now with Zoloft, I think I'm able to articulate those ideas better. I am now able to explore and remember what certain instances and memories felt like, and not become consumed by the negative feelings. It's like I just dip my toes into the shallow end of the pool and see how I respond to it.
      I think if someone is creative, they will continue to create, because that's what we do. You might check out Stephen King's book, On Writing -- he talks about this very thing in that book and also Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Her book has a chapter devoted to this topic and I agree with her. Hope this helps. I'm curious to see what others post on this comment thread too. ;) Try and keep the habit of staying creative, even when you don't feel like. You might be surprised to see what comes out.

      Make sure you mention the anger issue with your doctor before starting Zoloft. I've been on it for 5 months and while I'm glad the sexual side effects went away after 3 months I then started experiencing explosive anger issues. I'd be in the store and just start screaming at someone over something trivial. After it happened a few times I looked into it and saw other UA-cam vids talking about the anger side effects as well. Good luck!

    Hey Sarah! :) I keep re-watching your video to hear about the side effects and I guess I'm missing it. lol Did you notice any side effects when you upped the dosage on Zoloft? I'm currently on 25 mg and I'm thinking about upping it up to 50 mg. In the beginning, I felt a lot of fatigue. I've been taking it for almost two months now. So, my question is, would I experience fatigue again if I up the dosage? lol What was your experience? Thanks in advance.

    • @_SarahElizabeth
      @_SarahElizabeth  3 роки тому +1

      You’re right! Thank you for pointing this out, I’m going to change the title of the video so it’s more accurate. I noticed migraines but was also using a ring light for my online classes. I think what I was experiencing was a combination of upping the dosage and that light. I ditched the ring light and my migraines went away, so it is hard to say in regards to that side effect. That was the only side effect I experienced. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt 😉 I think if you experienced fatigue before, it might would be likely you could experience that again with a higher dosage but I don’t know. If you can, if I were you, I would bring this up with a psychiatrist and see what they say. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help & thank you for sharing 🙌🏼 wishing you nothing but the best! ❤️

      Yes, I suffered from some migraines for about a week, but that also might be due to using a ring light for my online classes I was in. SSRI don't work for everyone. Nearly 40% don't benefit. For many it's a long search for the proper antidepressant. There are different classes of antidepressants. If a class doesn't work change to another class. But SSRIs have at least the least side effects. There are a few people who have chronic depressions. Unfortunetely help for them is very limited.

Testosterone replacement and carnivore diet changed my life. So it was hormones and diet. I no longer need Sertraline. My daughter is the same. Her anxiety and depression was held at a level with Sertraline. But again...it was hormones and diet that changed her life. And my wife...again 😂 hormones and diet. We are a settraline free household.
