The secret to a happy life: Be easy going, dont take things personally, and have a massive horse co..
😂
...ach
He was living Vaush's dream
Horse company…..? Lol
Speak softly and carry a big wiener
Fan theory: Jerry knowingly and willingly allows himself to become the office "Jerry" because he's the only one whose self esteem is high enough to tolerate the abuse
This is now my head canon. This is brilliant!
Their barbs mean nothing to him. He’s squared away. They don’t need to know.
I would too if I was hung as a horse
Fan theory or written character development? He said this to Tom in an episode
pretty sure thats just an episode where Tom becomes the Jerry larry garry
I loved when we found out about his family, it showed a vibe of a man who was like, 'I don't care work is trash, I have an amazing family'
He’s the smartest man there. Trying to convince his co-workers is unnecessary. He knows the truth.
Jerry is Goals ngl
@@RobGradyVOtrue
...and it all clicked, right
Jerry is living the life, does his job but gets to come home to a loving family and that wife of his
The underlying joke is that even though his co-workers don't know his name, almost everyone else in Pawnee does, because that's the only way he could have won by a "massive write-in campaign." That just goes to show you how amazing Garry really was, and many of his co-workers were too blind to ever realize it.
yep.
Garry😂
Jerry or Terry. Hahaha!
There's often a big disconnect between the political community and the actual city community in small cities like Pawnee, To the point you could actually take advantage of it and win a city election in a landslide by talking directly to the community.
@@Zoditron Interesting.
One thing no one seems to notice is that Pawnee became a thriving metropolis under Jerry with all of those skyscrapers in the background.
that was kind of set up before jerry though, with the victory in the last season being that grizzle donated the land for a new park in return for a tax break and revitalizing the downtown area. the parks crew really boosted pawnee
Those look like servers to me.
I like how Jerry's perfect homelife was an apology by the cast because they felt sorry for the way the character was treated as a verbal punching bag.
No they wrote it that way from the start because it's ironic because Jim O'Heir was always the most fun, lively person on the set. He always told dirty jokes and did crazy antics to keep everyone on their toes between takes
@@deucefoAM206 The cast actually put their foot down around S3 and said the writers had to give him a nice family or they didn't want to make fun of him anymore. The big junk thing was always planned as a joke though.
@@kyleellis1825 Where do you people get this stuff? Schur made that call.
@@alphanerd7221 From the cast themselves. It's been mentioned multiple times in interviews from several of them that they put their foot down.
@@kyleellis1825 No they didn't.
Everybody : Jerry you win
Jerry : always have been
Doesn’t make sense
Always so glad the writers gave him such a great family life at home.
I remember Michael Schur saying sometimes the writers tried to mess with Jerry’s perfect home life and he absolutely refused to let them 😂
I like how they retooled his demeanor from the earliest seasons. He became way easier going, and just happy to coast. Plus, he had probably the happiest ending of any character. Attaboy, Jerry/Gary/Larry.
he has a happy ending because he has a giant co....k
Don’t forget Terry! Lol
Terry.
Barry
Gary embodies the saying, "you are not defined by your job. Your job is simply what you do to maintain you family and lifestyle."
The way it should be
The best part of this joke is using his bullies as the punchline. Jerry is set up as this "loser" who can't do anything right, yet we know in the end that it's the opposite, and those who are skeptical of his kindness are made fools.
Thanks bot
Ben's infatuation with Jerry and Gayle's relationship is my favorite running gag
It’s cool that when he’s with his family, Jerry is the most confident and alive because he’s so loved vs when he’s with coworkers
I think it also hints that Jerry purposefully acts that way at work to give his coworkers a punching bag because he can handle it
I love how Garry's home was shown as being brightly lit during the breakfast scene to show the difference in his home life vs his work life.
I love that at 6:51, as Gary floats into his future, Ron is just there taking a swig from his flask loll.
This whole scene had me 😭 the first time I watched it.
I love that he also raises his flask to him. (Knowing how Ron feels about government officials)
My favorite part is also this scene, but when Gary starts to speak and is immediately drowned out by the hot air balloon hahahaha. Gets me every time.
I always loved Jerry/Garry. Not only is he sexy, sweet and kind, but his character always exemplified my own work philosophy. *"Work is **_NOT_** my life. Work is what I do **_to finance_** my life."* He didn't give a crap about what others said because they were not important. I feel the same way.
It always pissed me off how all the characters were astonished at Jerry's beautiful homelife, when in actuality he was a awesome man and the others were all bullies
Except Donna. Donna was always respectful to him and nice to him compared to him and everyone else. If day Leslie is next too
Jerry wasn't a punching bag, he was an adamantium monolyth, Unbreakable.
Just a genuinely good guy with a job that gives him what he needs to really enjoy his life with his beautiful family. Winning at life for sure.
I love the joke that “Miriam”, “Gladys” and “Millicent” are all drop dead gorgeous with such old lady names.
They're gonna be old someday, lol. I've met some Glady's, Miriam's, and Millicent's. They shared photos with me of themselves when they were young. A lot of them were georgous young ladies.
I think part of the joke there is how his family is “old school wholesome” like you’d see in Mayberry or something, so the thought of them being old lady names never occurred to them.
The living embodiment of the phrase "I have no enemies."
He killed then with kindness and they turned into friends.
I love how, in the 100th birthday party, the older males have gray heads but the females are gorgeous and young.
I like to think the Gergich bloodline produced only inmortal females and every male married into the family 😂.
His last name is misspelled throughout all the clips. Different spellings on the tombstone, the shirts, the chryon....I love that.
The 21 stamp salute always gets me. Gold.
Gayle looking the same at 90 is hilarious.
Jerry was always winning lol Everyone else at work was trying to ultimately achieve what he already had at home. All about vantage point, which is the beauty of his character and how they perceived him
Jerry's been playing 7D chess with us this whole time
I never cringed at something I simultaneously found super wholesome until that “eggs bacon and toast” scene
Greg Daniels and Michael Shur deserve a lot of credit for their creativity with this as Jerry Gergich and Toby Flenderson are basically the same character as they both serve as the punching bag trope for their respective series. Only in The Office, Toby's life was in constant misery despite attempts to fix it throughout the series. Whereas with Jerry the opposite happens as Jerry's life improves throughout the series. Toby ends The Office fired, publicly humiliated and alone whereas Jerry ends Parks & Recreation wealthy, employed and surrounded by an entire generation of his family.
Jerry was supposed to be the same but the cast liked Jerry's actor so much that around season 3 they put their foot down and demanded he be given a great family and the weiters acquised
Toby is a creep who's hated. Everyone likes Gary.
One of my favorite bits on this show is that they did the doctor talking head, and they never mention it again. The bit with Ben being confused about this relationship works whether you've seen the doctor bit or not. It rewards a careful viewer, which the best comedies do, in my opinion.
????
Garry's life is GOALS. He was fine with not achieving all his work goals because he wanted to put his energies towards his family life. ❤
Jim O’Heir is a nice looking man.
It’s also crazy that he is only two years older than Rob Lowe.
"No-one ever lay on their deathbed wishing they'd spent more time working in the office.." .. Gary knew the score! Such a wholesome ending! :)
Lighting gets turned way up in Jerry’s home and it’s perfect.
I will never not be funny that they set up the first season with him having a massive rooster and later introduced a family of top models and no one knows why his beautiful wife loves him
😏😂😂😂
😂 Doc should've told everyone,jk jk,but yeah.
I can’t remember what episode it’s in but he mentions that Gayle took his virginity 🥰
He also mentions to Chris and Ann that before Gayle got pregnant he looked a lot like Chris
Leslie knocking over the cup is the best.
In the first clip, nice touch on the Doctor's acting.. he was so shocked that he couldn't even pronounce his words right. He said, "perfely helly" ...
Fun fact the actor who plays gayle is actually over 10 years older than jim O'Heir (Gary)
the alarm and semi-panic in his eyes when he meets Gale...
Our friend here is a true blessing to humanity, showing us all the Good there is along this beautiful Life's journey - he is an embodiment of Unconditional Love always
I'm so glad Jerry/Larry/Garry got a happy family and a happy ending. I always felt bad for him when the others bullied him.
Don't forget Terry.
Ben was such an amazing straight man in that show. His looks at the camera are gold. Same with the whole 'Lil Sebastian debacle.
5:35 Jerry becoming Mayor and April losing her mind is PERFECT.
Brandi Maxxx the president councilwoman always gets me lol
Its so funny that his wife looks exactly the same throughout all time
I would vote jerry for president
I wouldn't say in the end,I would say he was winning from the very beginning,he had already been happily married for a few decades, had his amazing family and he actually loved his work, even when they treated him poorly,he was always winning at life and I'm glad Leslie helped him out a bit more later!
Donna was such a good friend 🥲
What a brilliant character.
I’m shocked that the scene when Ben says that he like Jerry from “Galentine’s Day” (Season 6). Another thing about this scene is Donna says Ben is embarrassing himself saying that and that would be hypocritical if Jerry and Donna are friends in the 7th season. Even though season 7 took place 3 years after the 6th. It just shows that Donna doesn’t really want her co-worker to know they are friends.
The inauguration celebration always makes me so happy 🥹🥲🥹
I wish I was in a family like that. Just happy, happy to be happy.
With a wife that looks like Christie Brinkley.
Gail and the girls should have been at the inauguration. They cheaped out on Garry
Gale fell in love with a genuinely kind guy. We don't have to get it; they're happy who cares?
Yes ma'am! Absolutely!
They gave him the best song for his send off, All My Life, (K-Ci and Jojo)!
Oh no...now the "Eggs, Bacon, and Toast" song will be stuck in my head for days...yet AGAIN...😵💫🍳🥓🍞
Gerry being a Russian spy would be hysterical.
Gail would be the spy. He would be the unwitting “victim” 😂
Wouldn’t make any sense. He loves Indiana too much.
@@IHateNicolasCage There are ~650000 Russians living in USA right now, do you think they all hate Indiana for some reason?)
@@Samar3n Your boy there killed 10x that
@@IHateNicolasCage I am sure that nazis actually believe that. They believe a lot of stupid things)
He actually won at the start of the video and we all know how he got Gail! And she was so happy!!
Nevermind in the end, Jerry was always winning all along. We just didn't know it.
It’s hilarious that Gayle looks exactly like she did 40 years ago while Gerry is on his deathbed.
Gerry was just amazing, i loved this show but i hated how mean they were gerry. He was the most likeable person in the show. If people in the world were like gerry, the world would be a better place.
That was the whole joke, that jerry/Gerry/Larry/Garry is actually such a nice character
@@kyloluma i know I still didn't like it. Ron should've stood up for him.
He is the living embodiment of “The best revenge is a life well lived”
Didn't need to make this that long you literally just had to show the first clip and you know my dog won 😂 . I wish for a life like Jerry for all of us maybe boring isn't your thing but peaceful doing something you like to do and having a family to share it with. Bro was the luckiest and you'll take a couple laughs at your expense for that 💯
Well, that explains why Gayle always has a giant smile...
Getting your insides rearranged will do that 👊
The real intense fear he showed when they lit the burner on the balloon made me laugh out loud
7:00
3:10 Sounds absolutely perfect
Larry is so cool. Such a nice heart.
I love how at work, Garry is viewed as a loser and a pushover, but when he's not he is living the best life anyone could ask for. Meanwhile the rest of his coworkers or maladjusted sociopaths! LOL!
Damnit, Jerry!!
0:02 Jerry isn't gesturing here. He's accidentally showing just how hung he actually is.
I know I might get hate for this comment but Every time I think about Jerry getting bullied by his coworkers, it makes me question Ron’s ethics as a leader. I understand that not everybody has to like each other but it a whole other thing if he’s getting harassed by his coworkers. It’s one thing that people would bully Jerry behind Ron’s back but it’s another if Ron would also bully Jerry if there was a talking head dedicated to Ron saying that Jerry is a klutz
He also said there was a Jerry at every place he worked at but he also has power not to have a Jerry as in not have people bully others but he doesn’t do anything because he “dislikes talking to people”.
No, you're right. Ron is great in many ways, but the show goes to great lengths to show that a lot of his politics and approach to life does harm to himself and those around him. His treatment of Garry at work is one of those ways and one of his flaws, a flaw he shares with most of the ensemble cast of the show. I'm almost sure it's an intentional move by the writers to add realism to the characters.
Ron doesn't actively bully Jerry to my memory though. He just lets it happen which is just as bad if not worse.
@@Ray_D_Tutto Nobody bullies Garry. That's not bullying. They taunt him and make fun of him. That's no bullying.
@@alphanerd7221 i get what you're saying because they usually come around and do something nice, but bullying is the imbalance of power WITHIN taunting/name-calling/etc. ribbing is two friends making fun of each other. bullying is someone like garry knowing he wont be stood up for, never pushing back, and being taunted anyway.
They didn't even need to add the doctor scene because Jerry is shown to be literally the most wonderful human being on earth
After all those seasons, seeing him get his truly happy ending made me emotional, not gonna lie.
Ben's face meeting Gail
Jerry always takes things in stride. He was winning from minute one.
I don't mind that Jerry is the punching bag of the main cast, because throughout the show, it's at least shown that he's part of the team, and his friends do care about him.
"They have his back when it counts. Every time it's counted, they've had his back." -Jim O'Heir
Ben still being perplexed by how hot Jerry’s wife is no matter how long he’s known them both is so funny
Never seen any of it BUT i will so Thank You ;
Jerry was always the winner
If Garry was 100, how old is Gayle?????
The joke about Gary is that his coworkers were all too blind and dumb to see his awesomeness.
brilliant satirical comedy. bravo
I love Jerry, but i was totally blindsided when they revealed his family for the first time. 🤣
You know as Mayor he put the citizens before himself. He did that for his family and for his coworkers too.
I love how at Jerry’s funeral, Ben straight up looks like a vampire.
Honestly thought their treatment of Gary was a lowlight of the show but it came around nicely in the end.
Leslie like they are all serial killers 😂
I actually loved Jerry, even when he made art it was the best 😄
The person giving the sermons at Jerry's funeral is Alan Yang, one of the writers and producers on the show since the start!
Secret arch unlocked
I loved how it ended for him
Gail ages, very slowly!!
The only man with FOUR names in the whole show. Jerry, Terry, Larry, and Garry. Hahahaha!
Jerry is the definition of working to live not living to work
Old Ben is rocking the Palpatine vibe.
Seriously, what is Gale's secret?!
She’s married to the best guy and frequently gets some with the guy with the largest penis
She has a painting in the attic 😂
@@malamalinkasounds logical 🤣
@@malamalinka Even then, it’s probably only got a single wrinkle and/or a grey hair at that point.
Jerry always won. It was about him and his rise, he just did it from the shadows.
Ah jeeze
i'm appauled at the exclusion of Donna bringing him oranges and calling him "the big b word" (buddy)
Low key jerry was winning the whole time. Didn’t matter if he messed up at work, Gail and his family
