lacemade is a chinese brand. it is awful that people link bad quality to chinese products when china produces both high end and low end. there are tons of unique and fashion forward chinese brands people are missing out on! i’m excited to try lacemade myself x

I was never able to understand prices and why they’re so high until I started sewing and crafting myself, and then I realised why. :)
To be fair, the "corset" is shaped more like stays, which flatten the torso and hoist the bust up, and that shape is not adapted for clasps because it needs to be adjustable. It looks weird. But even then it is weirdly shaped for stays.
“How functional can a corset be?” Technically…. Everyday functional lol. Idk why we just expect our clothes to be shitty and not work for us/be comfortable AND utilitarian AND attractive.
Very true! They used to be every day garments. I got it for pure aesthetics/costume purposes for shoots but even for just that it definitely doesn’t work. 😅

Just shows how used to poor quality in clothing we’ve gotten. And “ready to wear” has a lot to do with it but I won’t get into that haha.

Yeah I don’t think they’re drop shippers (then again I don’t have a lot of experience with drop shippers) because their branding is so on point. However I definitely think their manufacturing is very hit or miss. Like the red velvet set was so good. This corset was pretty disappointing 😭

I love lacemade so much but I am a small and I ordered a small and it was really small and the dress I ordered was out of stock in a medium and I couldn’t exchange it. So basically I would size up.
They did start carrying “plus sizes” but I doubt they would accommodate anyone over size L/XL considering how small they run. I almost didn’t realize they were “plus sizes” in the listings until I saw the product name because the models they chose looked at most a US size 8 ☹️ NOT plus size.

Having made corsets for myself (only 3 but they fitted and that's the main thing right?) I can tell you it should not lie flat but have room for the boobs and kind of stand up when on the table (don't really know how to put this in better words). Also around the hips it should have some hip spring even a shorter one. It wouldn't really lie flat there too. It looks more similar to 18th century stays but even those would have booby space and some hip spring. It's not well thought through and will only be for people with barely any to none boobage. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really hope you get your money back! And if not hopefully you can sell it so you get at least some money back.

Lacemade has beautiful designs, fitting is impossible, a deeply fraudulent company that doesn't accept returns, suggest to you to gift it to a friend or to sell it if it doesn't fit and refuses to accept a standard return in appropriate time window, unworn, label intact. I wish people would be aware of this deeply upsetting way they run their business. Will never buy again from them. People be aware. I have all email correspondence. Fraudulent illegal way of taking your money.
Why do you order a smaller size? Take the bigger size, and sew something smaller out of it, when your size is not available. I think S is tooo small and does not look like fun wearing it. Corsett.... yeah.... A lot of measurements must fit, when you order a custom made corsett. I guess, its a little bit of gambling, to order corsett that should fit more people. But it looks nice.

Abilletage is an EGL brand but it has FANTASTIC corsets. They’re a notch more costly than LaceMade but the quality seems like a nice upgrade.
