It's sort of like comparing AP with Omega and Rolex. There's so many variations of the Royal Oak, I think most SA can't remember them all like Omega watches. How many variations Omega Constellation has Omega released? And Rolex makes the smallest change to their models all the time.
There are quite a few undervalued AP's making this a perfect time to buy😊
I definitely agree with the 26120ST, the 39mm size is perfect in terms of diameter and thickness. JLC movement is reliable, but PR is a bit on the low side but very useful on the dial. Could be even better with a display caseback. Overall looks amazing, a poor man’s perpetual.
Adrian needs to get on that propecia minoxidil tip asap 😂
I enjoyed the conversation on AP. Several quick questions:
1. When and which model did the Royal Oak add the quickset date function?
2. How easy does the steel bezel scratch on the Royal Oak?
3. I have heard that the Royal Oak needs servicing every three years because it is as reliable as a 1960’s Jaguar. What is your experience with the RO’s reliability?

The AP Perpetual Skeleton would be the one I would pick, such a great looking watch. Both of you had great picks. AP does need to change it up a little so the brand doesn't get stale.

Thanks ,Adrian! The prices on the AP dual time had been coming down lately, though becoming more scarce. Since your commentary, the outlook of acquiring one in the mid- to low 20 range is dimming.
Visited the AP House in NYC. I asked what was the path to eventually getting a starwheel Code. I was told that I could never purchase any model other than a basic code or a basic offshore. Mind you, I own Patek and other high end watches. I chose to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere. Like on the Patek 5320. Couldn’t be happier. Patek treats its customers like they are special. AP lost a customer for life. Stupid business move. The market will change and they’ll need us again.

Most Patek shops give their customer fall promise that if they buy calatravas then they will get a nautilus...it just depends on the store
That’s messed up. APH really is a toss up on treating potential customers. I got lucky with a couple of SS RO without any purchase history. I know many local forum member got hype pieces due to their online presence. With the downturn this year, many of those forum members sold off their AP. Guess that strategy didn’t work out as they would like. Will see how the new CEO run the company.

Correction my friends. There is only an over supply when the AD has so many Royal Oaks available they are not selling at Retail. Not that Gray market dealers can’t get 2x Retail anymore.
Code is heavily slept on I think they look really nice the new steel etched dials are looking really nice.
I understand they are heavily discounted in the grey market but even at a discount I would rather get a Moser if I'm going for a spectacular dial.
I think white dial 15300 is an absolute sleeper

The thing is the Royal Oak is the greatest sports watch of all time surpassing even the nautilus. It came first, it's the OG Genta design. the problem is if they don't start discontinuing certain dials or models on the Royal Oak(or perhaps leave the crazy models just off catalog) then there are too many options on one line of watch. Which makes it confusing. People going into AP don't know which is the "top" Royal Oak anymore.
What about the 15300. I think it’s the perfect size and the dial layout is well balanced. The dual time 26120 is another good one

AP 15407ST (steel or gold) is my favorite two and my next purchase at $130k (steel) and $195k (gold).

Don't agree. The bracelet of the 15510 is much, much thinner than the bracelet of the 15500. To me, this is a huge change that is not discussed or analyzed enough.

Admittedly, the RO Concept line is meant for a small audience, but they are unwearable. AP should make them smaller.
i thought most of this was good except Francois being one of the greatest CEOs?? Are you mad... He's turned AP into Hublot. Literally just rolling out the same watch, repeatedly and wrecking the brand. The code 11.59 is actually lovely, but clearly the family sees it as a flop and he's left to be replaced.
These days - who wants to take their watch off to shower and swim? Please take into consideration in FUTURE REVIEWS guys!!
The style of the AP case and band is not my cup or tea. It is, however, very popular and high end watch buyers.

I have heard the same rumor which makes me skeptical about buying the brand. What model did you have the bad experience with?
@@dannysimenauer5745 the older models used to run "too fast" but it's incredible now, especially their flying tourbillons which keeps even better time than Patek from my experience. the new 15510 and 26240 are much superior to their predecessors and maybe even Rolex and Patek. Big fan

@@dannysimenauer5745 Disclaimer: I'm no pro but they are great watches with incredible finishing. I don't own a 15400 but I think it uses the 3120 movement which I've only heard good things about. The one that was running a few seconds too fast was the jumbo extra thin 15202 which has a similar movement to the original Royal Oak in 1972. I'd recommend getting the new 15510 which I know from experience is great and also the replacement of the 15202 which is the 16202, is also amazing and I hope to own one one day. The grail for me (within a realistic price range) is the green dial 26240st.
