Hola..Been in and out of MX for several decades. More so in last three years. It is a great diverse country with some of the best people on earth. Friendly beautiful spirits.
One of the things that makes Mexico such a great place to travel is the pride that people we meet in Mexico have about your country and culture. I have been fortunate to travel to quite a few places and experience different cultures. Mexico is always my favorite because of the people I meet when we are there. Thanks!
Alright, Let's give this a try. *Our top 10 in no particular order:* 1. Guadalajara, Jalisco 2. San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas 3. Tapalpa, Jalisco 4. Tequila, Jalisco 5. I found Veracruz to be nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Housing prices are higher there and there's so many BETTER choices elsewhere in Mexico. Puerto Escondido (Oaxaca) is sort of a smaller town, but has nice beaches. Oaxaca is a bit cheaper than most states in Mex., but it's also a bit more primitive, too. ¡Hola, Dan!

My favorite is Puerto Vallarta. The historic center, the beach, the green mountains, the resorts, the views, the cobblestone streets, the seafood, the mild weather..
I've been to all 10 cities! Another gem of a town is Uruapan, Michoacan. Besides a cool colonial era town it is the jumping off point for Paricutin volcano (one of the 7 natural wonders of the world) nearby and the national park in which the Cupatizio river emerges from the underground to above ground from the side of a mountain, and the park is practically downtown!
Dan, as always, I love the way you portrait the differences between the cities or places. And also how you made a point letting people know that Mexico is not just the beautiful beaches and hot weather. And of course, even though you travel a lot in Mexico, you would need years of living in the country to really get to visit the whole land. Even for me as a Mexican, I haven’t been in many of the places you’ve already visited. Anyways, can’t wait for the next adventures in other countries.
Puebla is amazing, with more than 3.2 million people... striking monuments, beautifully painted buildings throughout downtown, incredible history and beautiful cathedral and other churches, historical library, incredible food, and so much more... can't wait to return to explore more of Puebla, also home to some of the largest auto production plants in North America which provides citizens with higher incomes... great place.

Loved this Dan, can't wait to continue watching more places to add onto your list! Kinda bummed, I had to postpone my 1st time trip to CDMX:(...not till later this year. But in the mean time, I still get inspired by your videos being in beautiful Mexico:)
Hello Dan, I have been to all the cities you mentioned. My opinion is that each one has its own beauty. However, my favorite to live is...San Miguel de Allende, and not for the high population of foreigners, tourists or its fancy expensive restaurants, hotels or boutiques, it is for its own magic, beauty, architecture, culture, color, art, weather, food, location... etc., and mainly due its own people San Miguelenses (still the majority of the population 85 - 90 %)
I'm just seeing this video in 2021 and as you went through the top 10, I was thinking, I wonder if he'll do Morelia? I bought a house there 10 years ago after seeing most of the other cities on your list, including Oaxaca. The climate in all of those old colonial cities is great, as is the architecture, the public spaces, but Morelia really hits the spot for me. The most beautiful central plaza in all of Mexico. The amazing naked stonework of the colonial buildings - unusual, as most Mexican cities plaster over and paint their buildings, albeit in beautiful colours - and to see the actual structural stone makes the architecture all the more imposing. And frankly, I love that it's not full of Americans or other Canadians (I live in Montreal 6 months and Morelia 6, and knowing how much you like Montreal, I suppose you will agree I have the best of two worlds). I can't wait until the first week of November when I can drive down to Morelia again with my lively little Morelian dog, Lucas.
Another great, informative vlog. Your vids on Oaxaca awhile back has stuck with me and an hope to be there in a few weeks. Everything about the whole state speaks to me. Plus I love great food, coffee and chocolate and the Mexican Pipe Line having lived in HI. Go surfers.
U are amazing with going to Mexico. I was in Puerto Vallarta for 5 days 18-23 January 2019. I felt the way u spoke about the Puerto but is was amazing. I was very beautiful with people trying to see U something with to much money asking for clothes. I just new that what i wanted U are from Winnipeg, ouououuouou winter. I have been living in Vancouver from birth in Gaspee, Quebec for 42 years and will retire in Mexico and u have made my trip so much easier. Thank U for everything u mentioned......Namaste
And you've only seen the tip, here in Mexico we have oficially 132 magic towns. And the video is only about cities he visited so he skipped northern mexico entirely. Monterrey which is probably the most modern city in Mexico,Some beautiful cities in the california peninsula and the gulf of california, and a lot more to be seen in the north and the east that the video skipped completely, and of course some of the beautiful islands. However the bad thing is that it is not very secure as we still have a strong cartel presence. The cities and towns usually are, but the roads aren't. So you might encounter road and highway blocks from cartels, likely just asking for a fee, but in the worst case they might steal your vehicle. They actually don't kill civilians but they are definitely scary such a shame we haven't be able to deal with them because if we didn't have that violence mexico would be 50 times more appealing to foreigners and our own population.
Taxco is very steep with skinnier streets and alleys and steps up the mountain. The pirate town Campeche has a beauty of it's own but relatively flat with wide streets.
Thanks for this great video. I've been to most of the cities of your list. I would add Acapulco, Aguascalientes y Zacatecas. I watched some of your videos about Mexico and I like them. I live in Würzburg, Germany but my sister moved to Mexico City more than 30 years ago.
Excellent video Dan...it shows a quick view of different options to visit and your comments are just perfect. Loved it. I will share it with some friends from abroad who want to come to México....your video is MUST for them to watch! I think you forgot to mention Cuernavaca city..which is on the way to Taxco. Cuernavaca also has its own charm and some historical sites to see. Nevertheless this video of your top 10 list is very good. Thank you for making this video. Greetings from México city. :-)
If you have not already I really recommend visiting Bacalar, Mexico it's an unknown village (hope it stays that way) near Cancun and it has a lagoon of 7 colors. You can see youtube videos of it. Also if you haven't yet Campeche.
Great video and you r so right Mexico is Much Much More then Acapulco, Cancun, Ant all the Places that Most tourists Visit. MORELIA MICHOACAN IS DEFINITIVAMENTE BEAUTIFUL.

Really hit the nail on the head on this video, you earned a sub!
welcome to the new travel :)
De mis lugares favoritos es MORELIA! Han probado los tacos de jamaica? 😲 !son deliciosos!
México, hermosa mía, te extraño tanto ..mi corazon esta siempre con mi abuelita en Guanajuato...
when you turned the camera to outside I was immediately taken back to my neighbourhood on Inkster Blvd when I was a kid growing up in Winnipeg...
Been to all of them except number 2 look nice can't wait to sratch it off cool video
You should go to Zamora Michoacán! It's like a smaller Morelia
Nice list :D , I recommend you to visit San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, also if you go to Japan, visit the Nara's park is awsome
Another great, informative vlog. Your vids on Oaxaca awhile back has stuck with me and an hope to be there in a few weeks. Everything about the whole state speaks to me. Plus I love great food, coffee and chocolate and the Mexican Pipe Line having lived in HI. Go surfers.
Wonderful suggestions--makes me want to visit all of them.
It was a pretty good list, I would definitely add Querétaro, San Cristóbal de las Casas and Zacatecas to your list.

Xalapa, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Monterrey, Patzcuaro, Querétaro, Pachuca, Veracruz, CAMPECHE is beautiful
Awesome video , Unreal . I am crying , I need to move to Mexico .
Thank you for create this videos the way you do, viva Mexico!
I think you would like Campeche! It sounds a lot like Taxco :)
Taxco is very steep with skinnier streets and alleys and steps up the mountain. The pirate town Campeche has a beauty of it's own but relatively flat with wide streets.
Campeche is most reminiscent of New Orleans, Tampico, Veracruz, Panama City, and Cartagena.
