I travelled down the Giroux river out to Georgian Bay for a beautiful one night solo trip on the outer islands. I experienced high winds that forced me to retreat.
I camp on Georgian Bay, launching out of Chikanishing Creek in Killarney. On those windy days, as long as there is no rain I leave the fly off. Wind just blows through the tent and it's much quieter. Great video 👍😎👍
Everything you do seems to come so natural , you remain calm , nothing flusters you... outside pursuing adventure is your calling .. You are a thinker..... Get ahead of the potential bad situation. Love the video ...... Cant wait for the next ...
Always best to keep calm in the outdoors but I's say it's a constant practice rather than something that comes naturally. Thank you for watching, Darrell.
Such beautifully calm shots, I love the way you film!! And the "I wasn't in a satellite, just to be clear." had me in tears. You are a gem, can't wait for more videos!!
The bay is starkly beautiful. I hope you weren’t entirely defeated by the wind, but raw nature has its own beauty too. I enjoy those poetic compositions that you linger on in the video. You have the eye.
Thanks a lot David I really appreciate your kind words. I definitely did not feel defeated just needed to make it back home cause I had things I needed to do :)
The beauty of Georgian Bay is remarkable. But it hides severe and dangerous conditions that carved those rocks and scrubbed the land of top soil, trees and buildings. I love to go there in the depth of winter on a snowmobile. Those winds can yield -40C just to remind us who’s really in charge. A clear reason why there are few cottages or regular inhabitants in that area. Very cool. 😀
Hey man just wanted to let you know I am now subscribed to your channel not just xanders. You are a lot calmer than Xander but he is his own. I’m enjoying your channel as well
Might just stop going on my own canoe trips and live vicariously through you…..These vids keep getting better and better holy turd sauce. Please do a trip to the white shell or lake of the woods!!!!!
Nice video! The scenery is spectacular and you capture it so well. I love the rain, the cold isn’t so bad but the wind can be brutal. Well done! Cheers! 👍
Thanks for sharing. I liked seeing where you were on the map. I spent a week up in that neck of the wood each year when I was a young girl. My in laws like to go fishing there. We stayed in a cabin on Lake Nippissing and fished for pike, walleye and perch. Great fun. For a very special adventure, we'd take the boat down the French River into Georgian Bay. The guys wanted to fish for big Muskies and they caught them too! Great contact as usual, Max.
so finally i managed to catch up with the older videos... but now im out of calm videos to watch while having dinner... need more stuff!!! :D nah, just kidding take your time mate and keep up the great work. greetings
Sooooo, you guys go back and forth to do the shots where we see you passing by? Cause the ones shot with the from are obvious but the others where we see you or your brother at a distance, just walking or rowing, like, do you set the camera record the shot and then go back and collect the camera? I mean, it’s a lot of work right?
Coffee, rain? Rain, coffee? It's a no brainer. What I can't figure out is you have a stove, nice stainless mug etc. Why are you drinking instant coffee? A simple French or aero press added to your kit and you'd be drinking magnitudes better java. Elevate your game man! Seriously. No just kidding. Not so much. Drink what you prefer. No really you're so close to making good coffee take the next step bro! Take the plunge! Figuratively speaking. Me? I guess I'm a coffee snob sort of. I like my coffee like I like my women. Full of whisky. Kidding, just kidding. No really. Kidding. Just think of the sacrifice those beans have made to never be able to reach their true potential. Just a shame, tragedy really. Truly enjoy your content, thanks for sharing your travels.
Hey Jeff. I put some extra love into my coffee at home, but haven't gotten around to improving my bush coffee yet - probably because even instant coffee is absolutely delicious when I'm camping. My wife has been thinking about getting a better setup... In my experience, if I wait long enough she'll just do it - and better than I would have done it as well. Stay tuned haha. Thank you for your entertaining writing, Jeff. All the best.
Beautiful video. Inclusion of flora and fauna very much enjoyed! Looking forward to more.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I agree with you 100% on the rain vs coffee decision 🤪😆
It's not even a question, am I right? Thanks for watching, Alan!
Hey this was great!! Loved it!! For a campsite like that you almost want one of those crazy bomber tents they pitch up at camp 4 on the assault of k2!
Haha ya made me think of that too. Thanks for watching again!
Hey Max, I love the way you set up your shots so artistic.
Thanks a lot Michael, really appreciate it!

Haha yes... A lot of work. It's a good thing I like being there to begin with :) Cheers and thanks for watching!
Were there many beaver dams to cross on the Giroux? Planning to do a trip down either the Giroux or Naiscoot river soon. Possibly a loop trip.
Not a ton . I vaguely remember only 3-4. Enjoy!
If you listen very closely as Max says "That's a wrap"... You can hear... the sound of Thais groaning all the way from home.
She's all about the loud sighs
Does good looks run in your family. Both you & Xander are fit and good looking. Who’s older?
Thanks, I am older
Can you tell me the brand name and model of your canoe? Length? Material used etc...?
Hey it's a 17ft Evergreen Starburst! I made the reinforcement patches with kevlar if that's what you're asking. All the best.
@@maximbudnick thank you Maxim
Well done! Not as planned, however nothing seams to be that way sometimes. Thanks for the video. You started at giroux lake i would assume?
Hey, Gilles. Yup, started at Giroux. 🌲🙂
New subs and bell clicker.

Good job pal
Thanks, bud!

I tell the missus cheesy jokes all the time. She says there's nothing gouda bout them.
Haha very nice! Cheers!
Are terrapins / turtles indigenous to Canada ?
Yes turtles are definitely indigenous to Canada. Snapping turtles can get quite large actually:)
@@maximbudnick Brilliant, I've saw loads on your channel. Love the wildlife action.
