Let's Play Alien Isolation - Late to the Party
Вставка

- Despite being a bit of a horror movie fan, Johnny Chiodini has actively avoided playing Alien Isolation - even though he owns it. Will having xenomorph-killing expert Aoife Wilson on hand to help him out ease his fears at all? Very unlikely, but it'll probably be pretty funny to watch regardless.

Johnny must have gone to the Andy Farrant school of fear-singing
Within the first 20 minutes of an Alien Isolation video, the chat between Aoife and Johnny descends into whether you can wank in the sleep pods and Taylor Swift references. This is why I love watching videos of you both together on the Let's Plays and other videos.
Michael Patterson I thought that was both inappropriate when in the company of a lady and immersion breaking for those watching. I gave up at this point. I won’t watch this wanker Johnny again.
@@____uncompetative Your sense of humor apparently doesn’t exist, and apparently you’ve not watched many Eurogamer videos. You should. They’re well worth it! 😂 Hope that you’re getting by okay. You’ve missed out on A LOT of good stuff if you haven’t kept up. Throughout all affiliated channels. Good luck.
@Nogahabara No. I am not getting by okay.
I died from COVID-19 a year ago.
You do realise that you are replying to a comment that I made 5 years ago???
@@____uncompetative Shame, sorry for your death. And here you are! You do realize that the internet is forever, right? Your comment was fair game. You should watch more good quality videos put out by good people; you’d be a lot better for it!
@@____uncompetativeI'm sorry you died of covid.
Aoife facilitating Johnny's awful Hurt Locker joke is why you're such a good pairing for Late to the Party.
As someone who would put myself in the same camp as Johnny when it comes to horror games, I'm glad I can watch someone else play this! Looks like such a great game, but I entirely lack the nerve to play it.
Hearing the save terminal beeps reminds me how much of a godsend they were when I was first playing this game.
Johnny's face when Aoife says, "It's terrifying." Brilliant. Now perhaps Johnny can turn the tables and get Aoife to do a playthrough of ECHO?
Walks over one body by accident. Goes back and walks over ALL THE BODIES on purpose.
This Let's Play is incomplete. To truly appreciate the game you need to have your first proper Alien encounter. Which is in the next stage, the hospital level.
The people demand more.
You feeling chuffed now that there’s a eurogamer let’s play of this?
I very much want to see Johnny play this through.
Johnny I can’t believe you never played this. Such a fantastic game and probably one of my favourites. Please do a full play through or at least a couple more videos.
This was hilarious to watch. As an avid alien fan and a HUGE fan of this game, I LOVE watching how it affects different people. I also find it funny how much Aoife and Johnny were referencing Taylor Swift given how Aoife looks A LOT like her (maybe I'm missing the joke) 😂
1:16:09 lmao what the heck was that?
...it was kinda adorable😆
I know this video came out in 2017, but I couldn’t help commenting that this is probably the most quotable late to the party ever:
“Fuck you door, I don’t need your attitude.”
“Where does Kane go to get his spacesuit, THE HURT LOCKER.”
“Well hot damn! What a great joke Johnny.”
“She’ll probably... Shake it off.”
2014.
@@arndnaj Alien Isolation game released 2014. Eurogamer Late to the Party video released 2017.
I love how this game can gain access to your microphone's sound input and use it to give away your position to the alien. It's pretty unforgiving, even in the easy difficulty.
Yo I didn't know about dis
I vaguely remember I once made a lot of progress in one sitting but just as I was saving my game, the Xenomorph was just behind me, so once the game had finished saving I was immediately killed
"Nope, not doing that again" - Aoife after completing Alien Isolation for the first time
Johnny: "I believe Ripley's got other things to worry about" ... Believe it or not...
The problem with the vents is Johnny knows what's in the damn things.
This needs to go on Playstation VR
Pleeeease
Originally, there was a VR demo, but apparently they scrapped the idea for some reason
GHOSTASSAULT18 probably a lot of hart attacks that were difficult to explain
You made me spit my drink out twice. You owe me two drinks and a keyboard.
2:26 Johnny, now wash your hands...
Turns out COVID started back in 2017 when Johnny sneezed into his hand and did not wash his hands
27:20 I guess you could say that was a good benchmark for Johnny's fear level.
!!!!
Make Johnny play again! Part 2 !
Thanks for enduring it. :-D The hurt locker joke might've fallen flat, but the Mr. Burns impression was spot on.
The head tracking feature in this was amazing! Thought it was pointless at first, but then you remember to use it a couple times and suddenly you're doing it instinctively. It was like a budget VR.
In space no one can hear you cream...sorry
boo!
Perfect.
*ugh* Ironically, I: a) also love horror movies/books/games, but b) have about the same temperament with (great) horror games as does Johnny, and c) this is *exactly* where I've left off in every single one of my half-dozen attempts at this (amazing, wonderful) game. /fuckthatnoise
Anyway, as always - love you two, thanks for the ninety minutes of fun!
I managed to get the the first part of the medical ward, got the code, but keep getting killed before I even get the keycard. Playing it on hard mode and I think I need to stay close enough to the alien to allow it to open doors so it doesn't hear them being opened.
Love Johnny's response, "you know what's a fun game? Spelunky."
7 minutes in and we've had two obscure Simpsons / Futurama references and a conversation about the logistics of masturbating in a hypersleep tube.
I love you guys.
With this game part of my expected to hear the 'Sega!' sound as the game loads up, but with a difference where you hear 'Se-" then horrible, horrifying screams as the person saying it is killed by the xenomorph.
Really scary game, I really should try to find the time to play the game more.
I applaud you extensively, Johnny, for playing this. From your Low Batteries series to your TedX speech, I know you have crippling anxiety (as do I) and know this must have an absolute nightmare to play and I laud you for doing so. My mum bought me this game when it came out and I still haven’t struck up the nerve to play it yet, so thank you for encouraging me to at least try it!
Play it in bits, maybe two days a week, and hour or two a day, break up the sessions with something light, like Dragon Age or Spelunky, something comfortable to ease the stress and anxiety.
The genius of this game is that (for example) the xenomorph is actually two AI brains in one. One knows where you are and the other doesn’t, or something like that. Anyway, somehow this means it’s both menacing without being over-powered. This game shit me up a treat.
How did I miss this one, this is going to be great. It got me outside that first lift several times.
Please make this a full playthrough!
In space, nobody can hear you scream in space, nobody can hear you scream in space, nobody can hear you scream in space, nobody can
HEAR YOU SCREAM!!
Just saying, their was a massive missed opportunity to say In space, no one can hear you cream
Excellent Mr. Burns impression, Johnny!
This needs to be in VR - and the team that made this game should make a Jurassic Park: Isolation game!
Watching you guys play this actually made me go and purchase this game again from the ps store. I'm going to actually going to finish it this time around though.
How did that go?
Heh, I had some apprehension for playing this game, but I did beat it a little over 2 years ago. Second highest difficulty. However, I then bought the DLC on a Steam sale, but I haven't played those. It's a brilliant game and genuinely scary.
Still one of the best games. Way ahead of its time even when it came out
1:13:15 In the immortal words of Kyle Taylor: Rooster Teeth employee (when he played this game along with his ever fearless companion/fellow colleague Miles Luna)... "That was not the dildo I ordered! That is far too long!"
I love the John Hammond sprinkled throughout hahaha
I appreciate what you’re doing guys.
Is it me, or doe the save-phones sound like when there's an object on the motion tracker?
It gets much, much scarier than the first part stuff.
This deserves a FULL playthrough
40:30 YES JOHNNY FOR THE BIOSHOCK REFERENCE
I enjoy every second of Johnny's misery :D
I'm useless with horror games, I managed about 2 hours of this game before never playing it again.
So sad both are now gone.
I played this Just before Halloween for the 1st time & it took over 3 hours for me to meat the Xenomorph...I can watch someone else play a horror game...but I am shit
My dyslexia. My brain auto-corrects these things so I can't spot them.
It took you over three hours to play through the first hour of the game? How come? You spent 2 hours hiding? :)
Pretty much. I went into the game totally blind & had no idea you were safe for as long as you were. Plus I spent at least 15 mins dicking about with the shower near the start.
I'm usually the same as Johnny with horror games. Movies never made me jump (apart from cheap jump scares) but video games are a different story.
This game *is* scary and brilliant but after a while I felt more like Ripely, when the initial fear wore off I just wanted to kill the bastard!
Yes absolutely horrifying game
Nice to see you guys play this
Edit : now I want complete playthrough of this by Johnny please :) the
Damn, this game is intense....enjoyed watching Johnny trembling with fear....I totally can relate!
Can you guys play through the whole game?
More! More now! I need to see more of Aoife guiding Johnny into soul-wrenching terror and madness.
I really thought they would have made another one of these games, It's one of my favourite horror games. Tho I do wonder how they would add on top of what was already great.
5:40 vent radioactive gas? Y-E-S
Y... I just tripled my productivity!
Not the corn! Aw, Paul Newman’s going to have my legs broke.
You can tell this game was a labour of love for the developers, it looks amazing!
More please, I love this game
Excellent torture session, I enjoy it every time you guys suffer something horror-themed. And yet, even watching this game has stressed me the fuck out.
28:25 - Was it a Rorschach reference from Watchmen?
Back here after the recent episodes on EG. Got to say, as much as I liked Johnny, I am much more entertained with Howard Moon (Ian) now in his place.
56:30 and 1:13:00 this is where the actual alien appear
I've played through this game a couple of times, but I'm only getting the "War In Totality" reference now.... 😔
MOAR!
I held my breath at certain points cuz I thought I needed to be in stealth mode just by watching a let’s play of this game😂
This game takes a LOT longer to get to the xenomorph than I expected.
You get a brief respite after the first full encounter, after that, it's all bets are off.
I don't know why this has never occurred to me before, but now that I've noticed it, I am very curious: is there ever an in-game reference to why there is so much spray-paint, in so many colors, available on the space station? That happens in a lot of space-horror games (all the way back to the poor spellers in the military team at Black Mesa threatening poor Gordon), and now that I've noticed it I can't stop wondering about why everyone in space/sci-fi/futurist settings has ready access to a Krylon store (or space-equivalent). Help!
It could be special nano paint that's meant for repairing microfissures in the hull.. Yea, that sounds kind of plausible.
Paint used to color code what repairs need to be done in certain areas. Maybe orange for construction, blue for water systems, red for electrical, et al.
Scottish Phil Collins; the guy who wrote that song about a guy, watching a guy, watching another guy getting killed by a Xenomorph whilst cowering in a locker. #OutofThisWorld
6:48 That one took me a couple seconds. Also, Aoife, I guarantee that the vast majority of people will not have the problem of hitting the top of the pod cover, no matter what their genital configuration. I side with Johnny on this one. It might be risky if someone gets up in the middle of the night for a drink or something, but it's perfectly feasible.
I was hoping you guys got the early version of episode 3 for lis:bts :( all well
Androids only made sense in the first movie, where they were secret. Once they were publicly known and available to all, there's NO REASON to send anyone BUT androids into space.
Androids wouldn't need life support, or suspended animation. Best of all, Weyland Yutani could send a ship of just androids to collect the xenomorphs. No living people would be in danger, less chance of bad press and if the androids were made just for the mission, they would be objectively expendable.
"He looks like a perfect candidate for a bishop or an ash"
I mean, excellent shout, Johnny, he IS, though the game basically makes the assumption that you already know he's an android lol, Amanda never remarks on it when its stated outright on screen that he's an android, implying it was known beforehand, and he's casual about it himself, stating things like how he doesn't need as much sleep as the other crewmates during the intro sequences, on account of, well, the way that he is lol
Take a breath…
Runnin’ runnin’, run, runnin’ Runnin’ oops, what now?? Sentence… Structure?!?!😘
Hey look! It’s Milner from Foyle’s War.
Dat Taylor joke, I felt it was lost in space. :P
At least you're not playing Daniel.
Aoife with the shit Taylor Swift reference and Johnny with that "I hope she's dead" response is why I subscribe to this channel!
That was awesome, guyz! I want moar :)
I didn't think I could play horror games but I found Isolation to be tense not scary. I've deduced its a fear of ghosts and homicidal old ladies. I'm OK with 8 foot lizards.
My shoulders hurt just watching this. Great game, but nope.
This game is much more terrifying when you play it yourself and if you don't keep dying at the same spot in the same way.
If Johnny weren't married, Aoife's "Some people don't see things when they're right there in front of them...and slightly to the side" would be ripe for shipping
I normally hate your start clips, but Aoife's nonchalant response made me choke laughing.
YASSSSSS BITCH YASSSSSSS KEEP PLAYING
Nuke it from Orbit....great Game...
How do you pronounce her name, Johnny says it so fast we poor Americans can hardly understand XD
Ee-fa.
Aoife 🙂
Johnny is bad at looting. Great at commentary though!
When you realize the Alien franchise is about to be owned by Disney....
Since I found outsidexbox first, if you hear this without seeing it dude sounds like Andy
Aofie is gorgeous
I think this is one of the most over rated horror games
Cool opinion😘😂 hot damn, you’re boring…
She is obnoxious. They speak over the cut scenes, it is so stupid.
Aww… Are you, are you going to be okay? Welcome to the theme of Late to the Party. Feel free to leave if you don’t like it😗
