Nice to see them using all asetek! Def gets the most realistic feel yet. Super natural but super fast/responsive. Also one of the few bases ive used at 540° that works well and doesnt feel weird.
Nice, chill guy. While everyone is shitting on each others sim of choice, it’s quite refreshing to see a sim that is not promising the moon, and is also used in true automotive settings. Just having the ability to drive 2-3 very high fidelity models that have been extensively validated would be really nice.
No other Marcel's were hurt when producing this sim. ;) The development was almost all done by me. A few bits of broadcast code were done by Ruben who also controlled the cameras during the broadcast and several people helped out at different times in producing the content and car physics model.
@@MarcelOffermansunsolicited advice but I'd be more upfront about using project chrono. It is the strongest point about this simulator and nothing to be ashamed of. You should communicate how a multibody physics simulation is a complex and large endeavor and starting from Project Chrono allows you to focus on other aspects. Also it's likely a higher fidelity simulation than most other consumer simulators and that's is a great starting point. Good luck and looking forward to hearing more about The Last Garage.
Not popular opinion, but I'm MUCH more interested in The Last Garage than AC EVO as driving experience is the most important part for me and AC EVO feels dull and flat compared to visceral feeling I get in RF2.
rf2 got enriched FFB and often detached models from real data. EVO is high level of physics in games. Best of AC/ACC worlds. I wish Studio397 guys would join RENNSPORT games to help them with their game and later make it rF2 out of LMU.
If you look at it objectively, the graphics don't seem competitive at all. The physics just look normal. It doesn't look any different from other simlessings. I feel bad about the rf2 being discarded.
I feel like there's a reason for that, in the talk he delivered recently, he (@MarcelOffermans) is talking about making racing games modular, essentially. The physics, sound and graphics engine can be upgraded or swapped for something with higher fidelity (obviosuly at a cost of some time). It is currenty running in GODOT afaik. There's nothing saying that can't be upgraded further down the line. Realistic physics is the goal here, graphics isn't and shouldn't be the priorty for a project like this. Important, absolutely, but not the priority.
It's not that black and white. Two examples just from the races on Saturday. Rudy van Buren, esporter, simulator driver for Red Bull F1 and he has competed in various real world series. Collin Spork, who is doing a lot of testing for Nissan.
Marcel is a legend! Can’t wait to try this sim.
this looks promising.

Awesome. It’s looking promising. Off topic: I wouldn’t have recognized Marcel. He looks completely different compared to the rf2 days.
Great stuff Marcel 👍🏼
Looking good and VR included ❤
It's simultaneously exciting and disconcerting that we now have so many simulators that reckon theirs is the most realistic.

Regarding the title of the video: If i remember correctly, brake fading is already featured in the Grand prix legends 1955 mod for a few years now.
I hope they can grow and fill the lack that RF2 left in the community since S397 ditched it.
I'm more interested in early access for this game than in Assetto Corsa EVO. Want to try this system coming soon
As he is always talking about 'I', is it true that this sim is developed by only Marcel? That is bonkers!

Echos of LiveForSpeed
Impressive, though I'm not one for such a level of real-world fail points in my Sim racing games.
Should get the pros to test the simulator "feel" using VR and not flat screen.

Sell so we can get a Indycar game for the love of sim racing!!!

Esports are gamers if you want to get serious, if they want proper feedback try hire a pro
