You did a great job got right to the point, thanks. To many people like to talk to much. Sometimes that’s needed, but most of the time I think people just want to hear themselves. Again great job.
Well anyone that has a UA-cam channel likes to hear themselves talk! Hahaha I appreciate your comment. Hope to see you around the channel. Many more mower videos coming soon!
I use just a plain paper clip, stick it in both ends of the wire works fine and like you said if you got to take it to the shop unplug the paper clip and put it back in the switch
FYI guys. If your seat switch has the incoming wires (often more than 2) encapsulated in a plug of some sort, simply unplugging it may not allow the motor to run. There is another switch in the plug itself that either opens or closes the circuit so that you cannot defeat the switch. It may be necessary to either cut the wires or else connect the wires to make the motor start and run.
Or just unscrew the safety switch under the seat. It acts as a push button. Once out, wrap some duck tape around it to temporarily keep the button down.
The seat safety wouldn’t bother me so much but mine on my zforce 54” is apparently so sensitive if I hit a decent sized bump moving at moderate speed it will kill the pto every time. So annoying and I plan to disengage it for that reason. If I can figure it out that is, think mine has 4 or five wires if I’m not mistaken
Hahaha man this was the first thing I did on my toro... I couldnt even lean over to avoid a low hanging branch without the dam thing backfiring and dying hahah! EPIC!
We have a 2013 Magnum 2250 Dixie Chopper that has a seat delay switch which goes out about twice a year. This is in addition to or extra to the under the seat safety seat switch, they are not the same thing. We would like to know if you've had any experience bypassing this switch or know anything about them they have no markings what so ever and are 3 pronged. When this delay switch goes out the mower will start but can not be driven.
I don’t have any experience with the Dixie choppers. Haven’t even sat on one. A wiring diagram should be able to help you out. You can figure out the switch by disconnecting it from the wires, if it acts the same as it did without you sitting on the seat then the switch is designed to close the circuit. So you just have to determine which wires to connect together. You could try connecting all three together and see what it does. May blow a fuse if it isn’t supposed to be wired like that but you can test it and see which combo works
If you ever find a way to bypass the module Please do let me know It seems most old Toro Z turns got issues with that module. Thank you for your video. Will surely try to monkey that switch for the fun of it.
With my John Deere I cut the three wires after pulling the Jumper wire out that is on the seat switch. This leaves three wires. I was then not sure which two wires to tie together and tape them. One is a ground wire right? One is mostly white with a thin black stripe, one is mostly black with a white stripe and one is solid black.
I have a Craftsman riding mower and I tried just removing the 2 wires to the seat, no help and then I tried jumping the 2 together. Neither one would bypass my switch? Any tips? Thanks
Can the seat pressure switch cause starting problem. My Toro zero turn sometimes just clicks. So far I've been able to move the arms back and forth and it will start.
Have a Toro Zmaster and a switch may be my problem. Key turn, battery, plugs, solenoid and starter are all NEW. Carb fuel and air filters are all fine. Can that under seat safety switch solely be the cause of not starting? Would there be another switch causing 'no start'? Any help is appreciated.
I don’t know if the seat switch would allow the starter to crank. Is the engine cranking? Have you checked the oil level? There is an oil level sensor that will shutdown the engine on a lot of engines.
How do you disconnect all the safety switches on a zero-turn I'm having electricity when I can't find out which one I can't get it to start and I'm bypassing to see if I could get it going I'm the only one operation zero turn
I've got a 2015 Toro ZX4800 and my switch must be messed up cause the engine spins but wont fire. Though I have 4 wires to the switch along with a connector with the bundle of wires that is a female little plug. The machine has 10 hours and warranty is gone and $78 an hour for dealer labor.
Hum sounds like a goofy setup. I’m sure it is grounding out the ignition if it spins but won’t fire. I don’t expect it would be super complicated. Try unplugging the connector and see if it fires. If it doesn’t, then wires need to be connect to complete the circuit.
Thank you for responding. Im gonna keep working on it. I hate the machine any type of slope she nose dives. Put bar tires on and wider larger rims same. Soon as she fires she's gone to be replaced by a tractor.
I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
Got Toro zero turn, ran fine for 14 mins then dies. Won't start again. Gas is full Battery is 4 months & has 12.6VDC with DVM What do you think the problem will be? The above tip was too easy.
Does the mower crank over? If it doesn’t, then you have a switch or fuse tripped somewhere (handlebars, blade PTO, seat switch). If it does crank over, you need 3 things for it fire. Fuel, air, and spark. If it ran for 14 minutes, I would think your air and spark would be good and I would check the fuel line for flow. Disconnect the fuel line right at the carburetor and make sure it is flowing fuel. It can gum up pretty easily. Report back or research some videos on how to diagnose your problem. I do not have a video like that but I will make one soon.
It's a Toro Timecutter Z4220. Do you know where I can get a PDF service manual for free or block diagrams? Way too heavy to push this with my little daughter. Us women are not as strong. This mower is heavy.
A simple google search of the timecutter wiring diagram will show great wiring diagrams. Check fuses first, then make sure each of the switches I said are working properly or depress where they need to be. Should be a simple fix.
Does anyone know if I bypass the safety switch for the blades on a 32” Wright stander b, will it mess up the transmission hydros ? Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have a question. ..I have a cub cadet RZT 50 and the PTO stopped while I was mowing. I think the problem is the is a red and black wire with a inline fuse and one end isn't attached to anything. I think it goes to the solenoid but not sure where. Have any idea?
I’m looking at the wiring diagram for your mower. Is your fuse good? You will need a multimeter to measure for the 12VDC at the PTO connector (blue wire) this wire goes through your handle switches and seat switch. We need to ensure these switches are working correctly.
i have a toro 4200 zero turn...it turns off after i engage the handles or the blades any ideas?....i already put a new key switch voltage regulator starter solenoid nothing is fixing it...if i disconnect the plug that goes to the voltage regulator and it turns on and drives but when i engage blades it wont work and i can only turn off the mower if i put that connecter back on there
@@TheDurbinCompound hey if your on line, reason I looked t your video is because my zero turn starts fine but everytime I close the handles or turn on the blades it shuts off
That’s a weird one. It may be a bad seat switch. Not making the circuit. So when you close the handles or engage the blades, it thinks you’re not on the seat
I own a large grass cutting business and I find it very irresponsible for you to explain how to bypass a safety feature on a machine that can seriously harm and even kill you just by bypassing this safety feature or any other one for that matter. You should not educate people on how to become more unsafe but educate them on how to be more safe. Shame on you buddy.
Thanks for your comment Mike. I do agree with your concerns. The modification is made at the owners own risk. I, myself, don’t need this safety feature when I am in the field by myself.
I totally agree with mike dominick on this issue. In fact my Dad who is no longer with us had removed the switch on one of our tractor's and added a jumper bypassing the seat pressure switch. When I took over using it I purchased a new safety and installed it in case I sell the tractor [ To You Know Who.] Yes people who don't read the manuals or just don't take the time to think before acting and are not so mechanically inclined! I did that. But now my battery keeps dying.
