Timothy, I absolutely love watching all you great ideas. You are always so happy and enjoyable to watch. thank you for what you do and thank you for sharing with all of us. ❤
Tim - I loved this idea! I made notes as I watched and so far I have made 5 of them. Hardest part was selecting pieces to go together from my fabric stash. I gave one to my neighbor and she loved it and wanted to know how to make so I gave her my typed instructions. I see so many places this clever little napkin holder will travel to. Will also make a perfect hostess gift for the cookouts and invites to neighbors for a drink and snacks.
I love this idea. It is easy, practical, and pretty. It would also be good for a Long Car trip, where you might snake in that car and a napkin would be useful. But I do have two comments. First, pre washing. You said if it isn't going to be washed often, it is not a problem. It only takes one wash to shrink and item. I know this too well. I tend to pre-wash everything for that reason. But you have made it a little over sized so it probably won't be a problem. The other thing to know is that you could repair your cut of the batting, by using a zig zag stitch. I do that to use up my batting scraps the save $$$. I apreciate that you showed how to have less buck at the corners and demonstrated how it maks a difference. Thanks again for a great project.
This would be a good idea for "left over" holiday or Birthday napkins to keep them from getting wrinkled in drawer. Appreciate you videos with the mistakes cause they happen to all of us.
Thank you for showing your mistake and how to fix it. I have not been sewing for some time so I have forgotten how to do so much. This is an awesome idea I want to make for my camper
I’m so happy to hear that! I thought I was just making a fun little project but so many people have told me they’ve gifted them! What a lovely way to give someone a fun summer gift. Thank you so much!
How amazing is this?!?! I will make it today. My son and his wife are taking her family, including her 90+ year 0ld grandmother on a camping adventure in their motor home and a few tents. This will be a sweet “bon voyage” gift for them. Thank you!! I think I’ll make 2 and wrap with napkins in each but one opened as a demo for them. (Notice all of the exclamations? I’m pretty jazzed)
Normally, I would pack those square napkins in a large Ziploc bag but they're so much more presentable in the fabric caddy. Im sure someone is bound to adk where I bought it 😊. Thanks for this cute tutorial, Timothy!
Tim …just in time for my cottage trip coming up! We can eat outdoors without putting a heavy object on my stack of paper napkins from flying in the wind . Great gift idea for my next door neighbour who goes finishing during the summer … he usually brings me a fish that he cooked so I don’t have to cook the main course . Really nice man …now I can make him a gift in appreciation. Thank you for the lesson ! Including the errors …it’s how we learn ….
I love this idea and will make a numberof these for friends as well as for my craft show this fall. Thank you for not editing out the batting getting cut by mistake or topstitching the wrong edges. We all make mistakes, and it just goes to show that even tho the instructors make it look so easy, we have to pay attention to what we are doing. Thanks for sharing a great idea.
You’re welcome! Too often it looks perfect when we all know (or should) that videos get edited to take out imperfections. I’d rather show you things that might save you the same mistake. Thanks for noticing!!
I love this idea for carrying the disposables. We do family camping potluck meals and I always want to take a turn at providing the paper stuff for one of those meals. This would be a great way to carry all the paper napkins, plates, and plastic ware from camper to table without everything blowing around or getting crunched. I will make a caddy for each: napkins, large plates, small plates, and perhaps even bowls. Now I'm plotting a pattern for plastic ware. i feel like there could be a smaller doubled rectangle across the top and a larger doubled rectangle on the bottom that is sewn with 3 dividers to separate them all. The top rectangle could be folded back the same way you folded the top triangle. Also, you made me really nervous when I saw you pressing the fabrics on your cutting mat. Thanks for a great summertime pattern idea.
Great idea. When we travel, we pack a food basket. My napkins get very worn just in the basket. Now I can have a place to protect my napkins and paper plates. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
This is great idea to keep in the car instead of a roll of paper towels, that just roll all over the place, or a tissue box, that'll get squashed. I'd make mine bigger. Then while watching TV, I'd pull off paper towel segments and fold them to fit inside it.
What fun! I made one with double sided fabric. Then I made another 9" out of waterproof fabric on both sides to fit plates and napkins. Thanks for the wonderful idea. I go to parks and have picnics all the time.
Hahaha. I leave in these kinds of mistakes because UA-cam creators can seem like “perfect sewists” too often because we can cut out the mistakes. I want people to see that they happen.
Thank you! Great video. Great tutorial! Yes, leaving in mistakes helps us all! Great idea, ill be making several for sure. Just discovered you, instantly subscribed!
This is great. I have clothing from my parents when clearing out their home. I can make some of these for my siblings and myself with their clothing, instead of a memory pillow or bear, something useful. I have other things I am going to memory make and will add this to the list. They all will make a wonderful Christmas gifts. Thank you for this. Have a fun Memorial Day.
Nice quick project. Loved the tip on trimming the corners before turning. I also noticed your shirt - Dana Thomas house. Is the house in Springfield IL? I used to live in Springfield and did take a tour several years ago.
Yes it is! I visit as often as I can and spent some time in April there as the guest storyteller for their annual gala. A great dinner and talk at a lovely bed and breakfast with a ballroom just two blocks away.
I was thinking the same thing cause I think I have fusible fleece . Not sure which is cheaper ….. Christmas gifts … I like this idea a lot ! Thanks Tim !! ❤ Canada
Suggestion: REMOVE THE MISTAKE YOU MADE! Even though you corrected it, it’s now VERY CONFUSING leaving the major mistake within this video. Shame, it’s a nice idea 🤷♀️
For Christmas, make a bunch for the family to keep in their cars for all of the extra napkins you get at the fast food places.
Great idea!
Suggestion: Sew in a couple of weights on the top stitch side. That would keep the remaining napkins in place when people pull a napkin out.
Great idea! Thanks for showing the mistakes-It makes a beginner like me understand that it's ok and fixable to make mistakes!
Glad it was helpful!
great place to use up odd layer cake squares!!
Such a good idea. I have four or five I could from a project I just recorded. Thanks for the suggestion!
Genius idea Tim! Been following you since the Covid masks! Also genius designs! Thank you for sharing!❤
Glad you like them!
Timothy, I absolutely love watching all you great ideas. You are always so happy and enjoyable to watch. thank you for what you do and thank you for sharing with all of us. ❤

You gave me an idea for a Christmas gift for a grab bag. Small quilt with napkin and plate caddy and sleeve for utensils. All made from scraps.
Thank you for sharing I was wondering how to put my napkins out.
This was fun to watch. You explained everything very clearly.
Thank you for showing your mistake and how to fix it. I have not been sewing for some time so I have forgotten how to do so much. This is an awesome idea I want to make for my camper
I’m glad it helps! Have fun. I hope you make one.
Just gave my daughter-in-laws the napkin caddy’s and they loved them. So thank you for a great project.

You’re welcome! I think it’s super practical. A great item to make with kids to teach them easy basic sewing too!
@@timothytotten9409 I agree 💯‼️👍🏼
Great idea, it reminds me of my pocket tissue pouch.

I love this!! Even making them to keep in glove boxes to keep them organized.
That’s another great point. You can make different sizes if you like to get “car napkins” at the fast food place. Lol

Love it!!
One for napkins and one for plates.
Love this project. I’m going to make this plus I’m thinking of making one in 10in for paper plates. Thanks so much.
That’s a great idea!
Love the idea!! You could always trim back the batting all around the holder to cut down on the bulk as well.
Good point. This was pretty thin batting so it was less of an issue. But still a good tip!
What a great idea! I made a fabric basket to put on the table for my napkins, but this would be handier and one napkin at a time would work easier.
Love, Love, Love this idea. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks! It seemed like a fun simple project that has so many great applications. I could see making one sized for large plates too!
Lovely clear and down to earth instructions! Thank you! From NSW, Australia. Xx
You are so welcome!

Missed an opportunity to show new sewers how to use batting scraps. A simple zigzag stitch would fix it.
Love this Idea.
It would. But the Janome 1600p is a straight stitch only machine. No chance with the machine at my shop.
What fun! I made one with double sided fabric. Then I made another 9" out of waterproof fabric on both sides to fit plates and napkins. Thanks for the wonderful idea. I go to parks and have picnics all the time.
Love it! Enjoy.
Great idea for an outside patio lunch ❤
I love your videos. You example things so well. Thank you for sharing your ideas
Thanks!
Very nice. I see you and I sew the same. sew, unsew, sew again!!! Nice to know I'm not the only one
Hahaha. I leave in these kinds of mistakes because UA-cam creators can seem like “perfect sewists” too often because we can cut out the mistakes. I want people to see that they happen.
@@timothytotten9409 thats a teaching & fixing tutorial ❤
Camping gift. Thank you.
You bet!
Good morning... I love this idea, for our next trip😊❤
How clever...thanks for the generous pattern idea.
I love this idea Timothy. I could use this for when we go camping. They will make nice gifts too. Can't wait to make them. Thank you for sharing. ❤
These would make great gifts. Even pre-fill them!
I have made these as gifts...thanks for ides
Thank you! Great video. Great tutorial! Yes, leaving in mistakes helps us all! Great idea, ill be making several for sure. Just discovered you, instantly subscribed!
Thank you so much. I make a lot of mistakes and I think it helps people see that everyone makes mistakes.

That’s a fun idea!!
Great idea! I also have blue jeans to chop up . . . For camping would be fun
I watched this yesterday. I made 7 already! I did Americana for Memorial Day and a few for my girlfriends.
Wow, really?!? That’s amazing!
I’m in an RV community and we all eat outside a lot. I also teach sewing classes in the winter and I’ll do this one next winter at a class!
What a clever idea, thanks.
This is going to be great for my car napkins. Now they won't have to be cluttering up my glove box.
Such a good idea! Don’t we all have that stash we take from the fast food place?
Adding Velcro to it, and dash, it can be put on dash without sliding around ( napkins or Kleenex)
Love it EASY & very great idea and usable!! Making serval today! Thank You!
Oh wow! So happy to hear. Have fun!
Thank you for showing us the mistakes you made. Misadventures in our sewing is how we learn.
At least I sped up the video of having to pick out the stitches. Lol
I just found you and are quite happy. Thankyou for your tutorial Greetings from Switzerland
Thank you!
This is a wonderful tutorial. Thank you. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for sharing this. I've made a bunch for my friends.
What a great easy project. Thanks Tim
You are very welcome!
What a Cool idea! Creativity fills needs in an awesome way! I am already thinking Christmas presents. Thank you so much for sharing!
This is a great idea! I plan to make several…for use at cabin, picnics, car….
They make great gifts too! And they use up large scraps. I have make a bunch already for family. Enjoy!!
Thank you! A wonderful idea!
Great Idea going to make several for friends
Hi from downunder 😅
Excellent tutorial. Thank you!
What a great idea! Thank you for making such a useful video! I can’t wait to make my own! 🎉❤
They make great gifts!
This is a great idea for napkins and plates! I loved your corner clipping lesson too.

Such a great idea!
Love your videos ❤
Thanks!!
I love it and the colors are so pretty
Thanks!
Love this idea, thanks.
Great idea!
Thank you! Love it😊😊
Genius!
These would make a great grab and go for potlucks etc. you could put napkins, paper plate, and eating utensils in it.
Absolutely!
Love this. Thank you ❤
Cool idea
Could you use pinking shears
Brilliant!
Good morning everyone

Tristan and I are watching Uncle Tim on youtube, he said that's so cool.
Yay!!
That is the coolest!!!
Love this! May i know the make/model this sewing machine is?
It’s a Janome 1600p.
Cute idea. What is the name of the guide you used and where can I find it? Thanks for sharing. Pam
Which guide?
The guide for the 1/4” seem.
I have an idea for this picnic but, I need your help to make it . put a boxing around it and make it about 1 inch high
Good Morning
What type of machine are you using?
It’s a Janome 1600p. Here’s a link to my video about it: ua-cam.com/video/TcB7nhR_dIc/v-deo.htmlsi=6-u3uv0yxXt6VPqm
Cool❤❤❤
Good morning
Can you use fusible fleece. Thanks
I think that would work!
