I watched this over a decade ago, I remember loving watching your playthrough despite it using just text, because the CnC music and the jokes were spot on. I still come here and watch this stuff when I'm going through rough times cause it takes me back to simpler times, thank you so much. ba da da da *just do it up*
I like how Fox has the balls to not only charge Pepper for the kills on this mission despite being ordered not to go to Titania, but then he also charges for things like rocks and uncharged shots next to bombs.
I like how he says, "Deploy the landmaster!" when he's the one that's driving. I guess Fox feels he has to give orders to himself. Must be a result of listening to Peppy all the time.
I never get tired of watching this video. I can't tell if it is the awesome score, the commentary, or because this is as close as I will probably ever get to seeing Slippy bite it.
0:25 : "It's too dangerous there!" This coming from the man who has no problems sending you up against massive space armadas with no support (Or very limited support), to the Sun, through an asteriod field and up against Star Wolf.
Yeah there are two versions of the song that I know of, the high quality one that's on Frank's site that has added voice samples, and the lower quality one that plays in the game itself. I agree though, its some great music, especially for a game from the early 90s.
@concordat That's what I figured, but when I watched it again I noticed you were talking about all of the negatives (or possibly just differences) of the Landmaster. And true there are lifeforms all over the place in that level. Great work as always.
1:48 to 1:50 Falco going, "He can sure be a pain in the neck" could actually be hinting to a visual pun, as a result of the skeleton the Landmaster passes when he says it.

The red score number indicating you'll receive a medal after the mission doesn't appear until you rescue Slippy, and I believe it never appears if anyone is shot down.
@Hemloch I had not played this particular level for years when I recorded this, and I still managed to get the medal with ease. I don't see the problem.
Both are in the credits you know... But the boss music in particular was "Full Stop," and the music after that was "Mission Accomplished" both by Frank Klepacki, if you were confused somehow.
That line at the beginning "This is the best idea ever" has me ROFLcoptoring every time. I didn't see the rest of the video because I was too busy headbanging to the sweet sweet soundtrack. :D
if you drag the fight on long enough you can actually go back to the start of the level while still fighting the boss. but it will take a while considering you'll have to travel around the entire planet.
Man oh man, this mission's level design reminds me of the African missions in C&C 1. That, as well as C&C's love affair with giant tanks of doom (read: Mammoths) is probably why the music fits so well. Plus, a good dose of MURDER never hurt anyone.
Jetforce Gemini intro music, not a bad way to start the scene out lol. I loved this game and many others for the old system, good to see it's still remembered.
I actually edited out portions from the high quality soundtracks that Frank Klepacki has on his website, and replaced those parts with low-fi ones from the game. If you listen closely you can tell it changes at 2:16 to the low-fi game track and back to the high quality one at 2:56. I did this because the higher quality one had a bunch of silly voice samples that weren't in the game version.
Quite a few of them are related someway to what's happening in the video. Either in how they were originally used or what its from. In this case most of the tracks are from the original Command and Conquer. Some people might say otherwise but to me that game was all about the tanks.
i love how the boss tries using slippy as a shield to prevent fox from attacking, but actually makes concordat want to shoot more! xD YEA stupid slippy
Titania is the name of the Queen of the Fairies in A Midsummers night dream. It's something of a stretch, but there is also a level called Macbeth, so who knows.
I almost burst out laughing when I heard the Jet Force Gemini ship launch/landing theme music. ^__________^ Thumbs up and 5 stars just for that reference.
I push and hold the button just long enough so it fires a burst of three shots, then let go and press again. So most of the time I'm pressing once for every three shots you see. Though sometimes I just hammer the shit out of the button, usually on the bosses.
Its on Frank Klepacki's website, I think its only available through the streaming thing. Kind of odd, I swear I remember downloading the MP3 from there. You're not going to find a version like what I put in this video, I actually edited out some voice samples in the higher quality version from his website by using the low-fi track ripped from the game for the duration of 2:16 to 2:57
@bradymonty I am not sure where people have gotten that idea. I can look at the actual cartridge myself and see it is rated K-A, the precursor to the E rating.
@PhenomsServant4 Yeah I know, my cartridge has that on it, but I figured not a lot of people would either be able to remember that, or know what it was.
Would be hilarious if Slippy's health bar actually suffered from damages you caused, though I imagine Nintendo just wanted to go easy on beginner players going through this route.
1. AWESOME music choice... brings back memories of the African missions in C&C. 2. "What do you think you're doing, Fox?" "What do you think you're doing, Fox?" "What do you think you're doing, Fox?" "Pipe down, Slippy!" LOL 3. "All he needed was a little dose of MURDER" HELL YEAH
I meant destroying them. You only get 1 point for each, granted (bombs and, to the best of my knowledge, charged shots don't affect them), but it's more points.
Even though Slippy sucks so much (and Fox can't seem find a reason to get rid of him), just remember that he is a trained "killer"! He could kill any of us pretty easy if he wanted to!
"The Landmaster is a rolling death machine." YESSSSSSSS . . . Another Landmaster fan. The way it rolls around is just gangster. Try sending that to the Taliban's doorstep.
@bradymonty The ESRB's own website doesn't list the N64 version oddly enough, probably because it was given the now-retired K-A rating, but the Wii Virtual Console one is there and rated E. And every game box picture on google images shows the K-A rating.
I can think of a legitement reason for searching in the magnetic storm. It's clear they can't locate Slippy, despaite all the fancy radars and whatnot, so, he must be in some place that radars couldn't work. Thus, magnetic storm.
I watched this over a decade ago, I remember loving watching your playthrough despite it using just text, because the CnC music and the jokes were spot on.

can't forget macbeth and zoness
I like how Fox has the balls to not only charge Pepper for the kills on this mission despite being ordered not to go to Titania, but then he also charges for things like rocks and uncharged shots next to bombs.
"Collateral damage surcharges" is part of mercenary work, you know.
I like to think of them as "style points"
"ARGH HE WILL NOT EXPIRE" has lived rent-free in my brain ever since I first saw this video years ago.
I like how he says, "Deploy the landmaster!" when he's the one that's driving.
I guess Fox feels he has to give orders to himself. Must be a result of listening to Peppy all the time.
Even Pepper knows it's too dangerous and a waste of time to save Slippy.
The language Fox uses in the briefing on the Japanese version is more like "I can't just leave Slippy (much as I want to)..."
I never get tired of watching this video. I can't tell if it is the awesome score, the commentary, or because this is as close as I will probably ever get to seeing Slippy bite it.
0:25 : "It's too dangerous there!"

"I shall move closer to inspect this thing for it intrigues me."
XD
"oh dear it tried to kill me"
XD XD
"I must go finish the job" i almost ruin my notebook with coke i shot out of my nose there.
I love how every boss explodes like it is made from TNT, especially the living creature types...
I forgot command and conquer had such great music.
Love the Jet Force Gemini music when the Landmaster goes cliffdiving :)
Yeah there are two versions of the song that I know of, the high quality one that's on Frank's site that has added voice samples, and the lower quality one that plays in the game itself.

I still quote this video description on the regular.
1:48 to 1:50 Falco going, "He can sure be a pain in the neck" could actually be hinting to a visual pun, as a result of the skeleton the Landmaster passes when he says it.
This exemplifies just why my brother, cousin and I all got the impression that Slippy was a girl when we were kids.

The red score number indicating you'll receive a medal after the mission doesn't appear until you rescue Slippy, and I believe it never appears if anyone is shot down.
I like how at 6:57-7:01 slippys whining went perfectly with the music.
Full Stop(Bitching Slippy remix)
It's like the CD mixes of Just Do It Up, No Mercy, Act On Instinct, etc. that throw random voice clips.
@Hemloch I had not played this particular level for years when I recorded this, and I still managed to get the medal with ease. I don't see the problem.
I'm honestly very surprised that Slippy isn't, like, severely injured inside that ship after it crash-landed on Titania.
I have to say, the Jet Force Gemini music worked incredibly well here. Good choice. :D
You never receive a medal if one of your wingmen is shot down at the end of the level.
"oh dear it tried to kill me" XD
The tunes for this level are particularly bitchin'. Well done. :D
Both are in the credits you know...
But the boss music in particular was "Full Stop," and the music after that was "Mission Accomplished" both by Frank Klepacki, if you were confused somehow.

I don't know why but every time I see the big sweeping camera shot with "This is the best idea ever." I just lol really hard.
Man oh man, this mission's level design reminds me of the African missions in C&C 1. That, as well as C&C's love affair with giant tanks of doom (read: Mammoths) is probably why the music fits so well.

The crushing option. The option of champions.
Well said!
@zeldafreak701 The Landmaster is just completely ludicrous, and I love it for that.
it's cool that you get bonus points from both a charged shot and from the ships themselves.
2:22 I've never seen that type of mine before...
The mako from mass effect reminded me so much of the landmaster, especially the way it gets dropped onto the ground
I hardly consider the level to be dull good sir. As long as there's lots of stuff to shoot at.
i always liked the landmaster. it looked cool and it had attitude to go with it.
I actually edited out portions from the high quality soundtracks that Frank Klepacki has on his website, and replaced those parts with low-fi ones from the game.

LOL I love it when you start unloading fire on Slippy!
DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!!!
6:21
Slippy- I knew you'd come help me!
Concordat- No, I'm here to finish the job.
The Venom on this path is more fun that the other one. Area 6 and Macbeth make the other path more worthwhile though.
The boss is holding slippy hostage! Awesome!
Love the bystanding music in the beginning. xD
Quite a few of them are related someway to what's happening in the video. Either in how they were originally used or what its from. In this case most of the tracks are from the original Command and Conquer. Some people might say otherwise but to me that game was all about the tanks.

I like the music when the level starts.

Pepper: But... Slippy is with You! Why are you going there?!
Titania is the name of the Queen of the Fairies in A Midsummers night dream. It's something of a stretch, but there is also a level called Macbeth, so who knows.
For both Landmaster & Blue Marine, I think Fox stays in the Great Fox & he controls it like a remote control car
I almost burst out laughing when I heard the Jet Force Gemini ship launch/landing theme music. ^__________^ Thumbs up and 5 stars just for that reference.
excellen soundtrack and commentary, that shulda been the soundtrack

Very good music selection, and nice attempts of fratricide on Slippy lol.
Command & Conquer soundtrack in the beginning. NIIICE X )

Diediediediediediedie" Haha, that one always has me rolling.
"I have the worst air support ever"
Then again... You ARE trying to save slippy so... I don't blame them XD
I like your style of video more than the other gameing vids i have seen
Would be hilarious if Slippy's health bar actually suffered from damages you caused, though I imagine Nintendo just wanted to go easy on beginner players going through this route.
Yes I appreciated this when I was a kid

3. "All he needed was a little dose of MURDER" HELL YEAH
I'M BARREL ROLLING WITH LAUGHTER!
the songs you picked matched most of the levels pretty well. especially the music for the Titania level, bitchin soundtrack
I meant destroying them. You only get 1 point for each, granted (bombs and, to the best of my knowledge, charged shots don't affect them), but it's more points.
No man I may con but I'm a humanitarian at heart.
Even though Slippy sucks so much (and Fox can't seem find a reason to get rid of him), just remember that he is a trained "killer"! He could kill any of us pretty easy if he wanted to!
When Fox retires, he's gonna release a book called "How to Fraud the Military Made Easy"
Fox's special attack is the Landmaster in SSBB. Falco's special is somethin else.
What do you think you're doing, Fox?
What do you think you're doing, Fox?

'Yes...I must go finish the job
"Life form indicated at 12 o'clock"
Noooo. You just HAPPEN to have started heading in Slippy's direction.
Nice video and I like the Jet Force Gemini music in the beginning.
yay for a Midsummer's Night Dream!
Always hated this level: This and Sector Z are my least favorites. However, I enjoyed your gameplay of it. Perhaps I'll give it another chance.
You gotta think if Fox sometimes want to beat Falco's egotistical, head in...
Yeah, but it was re-rated that with its Virtual Console release so its still applicable.
Galbadia Hotel is a good place to look.
The Beginning song remined me of Jet force Gemini... damn I miss that game XD
yea, this used to be my favorite level as kid
the boss is awesome :D
Wasn't Star Fox 64 actually rated K-A instead E for Everyone? XD
StarFox64 + C&C = win.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING FOX? WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING FOX? WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING FOX?
you make the lines so funny that makes a very goood video
"Please bitch, I blow up helicopters for breakfast." That one made me lol. =p
lol 1:07 "Lifeforms indicated at 12'oclock." is the equivalent of saying "go straight forward".
You use your Final Smash in this level! Yay!
final smash for fox/falco/wolf=landmaster
This question is harder to answer than the meaning of life.
lol 0:30
-what are you doing its too dangerious there
-"bitch please, i blow up helicopters for breakfast."
Oh, you curious rascal yo-*BOOM* oh my it tried to kill me.
