Mike: I am so, so blown away by this LA foodie tour. The 4 stops all fit into my go-to profile! I can't think of just going to one only! So, so dishes to try. I just need to chill out & think straight! The filipino restaurant with several very interesting offerings maybe #1 on my list! Holy Basil with the crab, pork belly , etc was classic! The special tacos were mind-boggling!
If I still lived down in the LA area, I'd be at Villa's several times a week. Knowing what cuts of meat to use and how to cook it makes an outstanding meal.
Hello Mike! I just wanted to personally say a big thank you to you! I just finished a trip to Tokyo and I mostly came here for the food. Your videos were so helpful and I went to many of the places you’ve been to eat. I really enjoyed Ginza Steak, Ippudo Ramen and Fuunji. 😊 I suggest you try Afuri Ramen if you haven’t been there yet. They have a great shio yuzu broth and you can get konjac noodles! Thank you so much for your amazing videos and advice! Im always looking forward to your next video. I’m off to Korea next and will watch for your advice there. Until we eat again!
I’m so lucky that I live 10 minutes from this Villa Tacos... last time I was there Victor came out with a box of candies and handed out to everyone and talked to each one of us.
3:32 Peace and blessings from Missouri (I know). You are looking awesome! I let myself have tacos once a week. These videos kept me going when I was sick in the winter. Stay humble like you have always been.
Hey Mike. I enjoyed every last thing about this video. Down to the pineapple cream soda. Yes sir.. I love cream soda. The taste, OMG Mike!! The 🌮's will forever be grand. Enjoy!! ❤️🐞
Mike , you taste so many dishes , Mexican tacos , chorizo, Filipino foods , and Sta Monica , sandwiches beautiful rosemary, curry , green , so delicious pork curry wow! I m so hungry . From Houston
I've been a sbcrbr for a long time but every time a certain word was added on the title of Mky's vid I would not miss watching it at all...I got hungry with that udon noodles soaked in curry! The CC was good too but, I love udon d best...
I moved from San Diego to New York about eight years ago and couldn't find anything in the whole city that tasted like authentic Mexican, so I learned how to cook "street" tacos and burritos over the past few years, strictly because I missed the taste so much. Carne asada, bistek, chorizo, adobo...I'm about 80% close to what I've had in Tijuana and San Diego. But now this place, and a bunch of other videos I've seen, have elevated the tacos even further than what I use to eat. It drives me mad because it's a never ending chase, but that's OK because it's become one of my favorite hobbies.
Villa Tacos is good and the owner is so nice. I ordered during COVID when you had to order from instagram at 12pm and then pick up that evening from their operations outside of their grandma’s house. So happy to see their success. Haven’t gone out to the restaurant though.
Never been so early!! I wanna say that you make such a difference mikey! Not only in the food world, but watching your videos while eating a good meal is now a tradition that brings me joy. Thank you for that!
Occurs to me Mike - have you ever eaten really good schweinshaxe? That Filipino pork looked like it was similar, and when you said 'knukle' it totally jogged my memory to the crispy fatty unctuousness of schweinshaxe. Many places just roast it, but at such high temps it gets that fried skin effect anyway. If you're trying it, keep the gravy to the potatoes IMO; unless it's very savory it only detracts from the crispy pork.
If you click on the accounts, you’d see that they are commenting on every new video and are making the effort to look genuine. It’s just strange that there seems to be someone trying to smear Mikey’s rep.
Welcome back to LA. As you can see - one of the best places to eat food from different cultures in America. When you coming to Torrance to try the ramen?
I love tacos like any proper Texan does, and good tacos are a joy for all to share in life! Those looked amazing indeed. As did that katsu sando and the curry udon, for sure.
Travel or start business ?😂 i have an extra cowboy hat.😊 hotel restaurant is the way to go. Sell food to hotel guest and tourists walk ins. Hard to find though.
Oooh Mikey really hurt your feelings didn’t he? These personal attacks in his comments section says it all. Sorry for your inability to resolve your issues with him in a mature manner and having to resort to trolling. We get it, it’s personal!
You know what the most hilarious thing about aAG1 is? It’s MADE in New Zealand but we can’t get it here. I’ve even talked to them… no way to get it here,
He did a long time ago and he had a great interview with the Filipino sisters who own the business. So cute 🥰 It was 2 years ago and the video is still on UA-cam. Just type in Mikey Chen Filipino dollar.
Their energy tells you why they make the best tacos.

Fatty unctuousness is such a fantastically descriptive phrase.
Crispy Pata
Why are there troll accounts commenting on a lot of Mike’s videos? Weird.
Very weird, I’ve never seen them until now. Same as on strictly dumpling. Why troll Mikey?
If you click on the accounts, you’d see that they are commenting on every new video and are making the effort to look genuine. It’s just strange that there seems to be someone trying to smear Mikey’s rep.
Yes, I think it’s personal, why would you bother otherwise. Mike hurt their delicate feelings or something, because they’re being aholes.
Garlic rice is garlicky
...and ricey 🤣
The taco madness place seems like a place that I would want to call my second home 😂
