Today's video is going to cover the comic origins of a book that has been making it way around the MCU for a while now. The Darkhold was first shown in the Runaways and Agents of Shield, and it has now made it way to Wandavision. It will surely show up and impact Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness...
Today's video covers the comic origins of The Darkhold, a bit about how it has impacted Wanda Maximoff and other characters in the comics, as well as its abilities.
Now that you know what the book contains... What do you think Wanda is planning to do with the arcane knowledge she is learning? Bring back the twins? Bring back her brother? Learn the solo from Freebird? Let us know below. Follow us on twitter!

I hope she tries to bring her brother back it be cool to see Aaron Taylor's version of quiksilver
She probably tries to revive her brother or, which I think is more likely. She tries to locate and save her children when she hears their voices at the end. Which either A.) she succeeds in and tears open a hole in space time by accident in which she contacts Dr.Strange to help fix. B.) she causes mass multiverse level shattering through her search for her kids and Dr.Strange comes out to try and reel her in.
@@neeloak1267 i think it will be your option B. she's gonna be the Strange 2 villain. she maybe more powerful than Stephen but he's smarter
if the book was made as a copy of a scrolls then there can be 2 copies of it one for the sanctum library and on tossed around in the mc tv
so agents of shield and the run aways are in the same earth as the mcu
@@bode_hossam head canon accept
The Darkhold is so complex and full that the MCU will have plenty of content to pull from it. It's crazy.
I think Wanda's next goal is to record the audiobook version for Audible, today's sponsor.
Haha
Hmmm She might use Audiobook to record the Darkhold
I’m personally excited to see what will happens between the Scarlet Witch and Dr. Strange, there’s been a lot of hints in the show about her being an antagonist or protagonist in the next movie but either way I’m pumped.
I mean...if she saving her kids in the "multiverse" and Dr Strange says no...then they finna fight.
@@theblsimp LOL LIKE PERIOD WE KNOW WAS GONNA HAPPEN LIKE WHO GONNA STOP WANDA FROM GETTING HER KIDS 😂
Wanda read the darkhold not because she wanted to become more powerful, she read the darkhold because its the only book that mentions the scarlet witch
It contains a full chapter with all the knowledge of the scarlet witch
ahem exCUSE me Chthon is CLEARLY supposed to be pronounced "Fred"
... damn it...
@@KeyIssues 😂 Great video, BTW. I've been looking forward to this one.
I thought that was Illyria...
😆😂🤣
I wonder if they’ll use the darkhold to tie in Blade and the vampires in the MCU
ABSOLUTELY!
This was the most concise explanation, nothing extra, straight to the point. Thank you
3:59 As far as I’ve heard, that is the correct pronunciation of Chthon.
Did you just say a guy had a castle shipped to him?
Yeah, he ships the castle brick by brick from Transylvania to america off the coast of LA. Which, economically, cost way more than just building a cooler home that’s not infested with goblins
There's a winery in Napa valley called Castello de Amorosa with a real midieval castle on it. The founder of the winery was an Italian immigrant who wanted it as authentic as possible so every stone was shipped from Europe. Neat tour and good wine if you ever get the chance.
Wanda is officially confirmed to be above both the Ancient One, and Doctor Strange! The debate is over!
On our internal power scaling tier list she is already at number 1. We'll probably wait to see what happens in Doctor Strange 2, but that should be a good point to determine if she is just gonna stomp the rest of the tiers for a while lol
@@KeyIssues Yes, she absolutely should stomp the other tiers. Agatha said her power exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme, which is a great statement for scaling.
@@KeyIssues dr strange is likely going to get a power up so he his able to contend with Wanda and not get stomped
Wait, remember that the ancient kept it a secret she possesses powers from the dark dimension...........
And in marvel everybody gets stronger in the upcoming movies so .....
I literally just looked this topic up and here’s a new and dope video about it
This channel really is underrated content
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
This video is loaded with misinformation.
Did somebody noticed that it was written in Sanskrit/Hindi in the darkhold in wandavision
Too strong to control but can still be bound to another dimension...
oh the joys of comics!😆
that's not the same Darkhold from SHIELD and The Runaways. is there multiple volumes?
I know in one story they said it was separated into smaller parts by the other Elder gods
If you watch Dr. Strange y’all see that there is multiple ones lined up and one is missing. The one Harkness had and now Scarlet Witch has.
@@singularityphoenix0369 i'm bad with Easter Eggs and love Doctor Strange, thanks for the heads up. i'll look for that
Hey Key issue are you going to do a Scarlet Wich powerscale video after wandavision?
Yes we have one coming later this week!
@@KeyIssues Awasome can't wait!
I want my darkhold back Wanda!!!!!
She is more powerful than you lol.
@@mr.thanksyou3433 I should have never told her about runes🤦
@@agathaharkness399 I just subscribed to you idk why lol
@@mr.thanksyou3433 omg thanks I guess cause I'm hilarious lol
@@agathaharkness399 😂 agreed
She could probably read it really quickly with her powers from the mind stone
Wouldn’t doubt that!
What powers did she get from the mine stone exactly?
@@singularityphoenix0369 she didn’t get any powers from the darkhold, the mind stone just unlocked the powers she already had
@@chaosmagicxx6299 Yeah that’s what I thought too.
But the question is... which design do you prefer?
*a. The AoS Darkhold design*
*b. The Wandavision redesign*
A. Definitely the AoS design.
wandavision version
Definitely the WandaVision version, the AoS one looks quite cheap lmao
Didn't the Darkhold show up in Agents of Shield? The season with e Latino Ghost Rider.
I can't wait to see how the MCU will use this book in the future. :) The God's name originates from the Ancient Greek word "χθών" [kʰtʰōn]; it is a feminine noun meaning 'earth, surface of the earth, land'. There is also the Greek adjective "καταχθόνιος" [katakʰtʰónios] meaning 'subterranean". The subterranean gods were deities of the underworld and they were also called Demons.
Ever since Multiverse of Madness. I thought since Wong revealed the Darkhold was a copy from Mount Wondergo, that there where 2 or 3 copies made, with how it looks different .
I would love to see a Werewolf By Night comic book origins video! Especially since we’re getting a WBN Disney+ special later this year
“The Dark Hold over everything”
- even if it means your son is a rabbit now.
Sometimes it sounds like you’re saying Skrulls😆
Yo where was the agents of shield reference
We are working on an MCU Lore entry for the Darkhold that will cover everywhere it has shown up in the canon of the MCU
The Darkhold seems so interesting. Right when i saw it in Agatha's basement i was invested. Honestly i don't blame dark magic users, it seems a lot cooler than light magic.
well I like light magic more
Lmao Yo! This is how we get demons wandering the earth!
I know this sounds a little needy but can you put the comics in which these events happened
Marvel spotlight 3 and 4, doctor stranger sorcery supreme 11/12/13/14 in the back of the books
Werewolf by night 1
Secret Empire 4
Avengers 187
A few more I forgot
I bet it's not the only one, probably a library full of them. Or the reason the great libraries were destroyed for having one each.
When will you do Superman and Lois including his suits?
I have a Superman suit ranking video but probably won’t do another, they just don’t get views and they take a tonnnnnnn of work.
This is pretty much it as per the new Doctor Strange movie, and it's definitely very important to the story
Are the pronouncination of "tomb" and "tome" (0:23 and 0:54) usually the same? Or is there a witty pun related to the Darkhold?
It’s more like I am bad at talking haha
Isn't Thulsa Doom male? Why are you referring to him as "her" and a sorceress?
He screwed up the time of when the hyborian age took place as well and claimed Morgan le fay existed in 500 BC..
I guess the Ghost Rider must return from Agents of Shield to hide it from her
One page of dark hold in the last episode shows language from the Indian subcontinent.
i think agents of shield watchers kinda know what this book can do.. somehow it was already cannon, the AOS and mcu storyline
There's going to be some deep things going on with The Darkhold.
Maybe the beginning of MoM is the Darkhold being taken by a Darkholder and summons the villain of the film
It could def be the case as Chthon is certainly primed for a debut
4:23 Is that the Dragon God the Great Proctector in Shang Chi?
do not worry! I will agree with her!!!!
Does this mean that Agents of Shield
Cos the dark hold was originally in the show before Wandavision
How does one SHIP a castle?
Da gloop go off
Wait the book he found was the one we were talking about
If you’re asking if the The book Wanda has at the end of Wandavision is the darkhold, yes!
@@KeyIssues i was making a joke on the "the book is…… u guessed it the darkhold"
So the Darkhold is marvel version of codex gigas.
Obviously it’s just getting started! WV is a setup to Dr. Strange 2!!
Which is obviously about magic!!!
Awesome
Thanks for this vid. What do you say to all the other Mephisto crazies out there that still think Darkhold will lead into "Hell Dimension" or some sort so Mephisto will appear in a future MCU project? Instead, they go on ignoring the elephant under their noses now that the show has blatantly thrown the Darkhold into Wanda's story. Personally it grinds my gears so I'm asking. :p
I thought that Darkhold was taken by that Stupid Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. How df did it end up with Agatha???
Says He will pronounce it without the "e" then immediately precedes to pronounce it with the "e" smh
Well well well
This is the same one as the aos?
Why didn't you mention agents of shield
so when will wanda and real vision meet again
Not sure, he ran off because he owed a lot of child support. Kinda messed up.
@@KeyIssues what ??? child support
Just making a joke
You should make that video on uru
3:39 the darkhold 🤔
If chaton is evil God then why odin the Allfather never battle chaton. Although odin protects na the 9realms including midguard a.k.a earth and during thor ragnarok why hela never get fear someone God of evil name chaton in midguard. So hela and odin is more powerful than chaton? Im getting confused can u explain all the Gods in midguard and asguard never interact each other or battle perhaps. 🤔😕😵😳😱
Simple, Cthon existed before odin came to power in asgard and left the physical, earthly plane to his dimensional realm of his own making cause he lost the fight to the other gods that existed on earth during the ancient days of mankind, he escaped to survive. During the ancient times, Buri was the ruler of asgard, odin's grandfather, he fought along side the other gods to kick Cthon's ass out of the earthly plane.
does this book have a real life counterpart?
Yes there is a real Devil's Bible named Codex Gigus
@@mr.thanksyou3433 *Gigas not gigus.
@@agarthalartey6868 thank you for your grammar correction
Tome not tomb

Wanda bad bruh
"toom" ... smh

The hyborian age was 10,000 years ago during the time of Conan the barbarian, how could you mess that up? Morgan le fay is from 6th century England as described in the black knight comics which are based on Arthurian legend. Also Thulsa doom is a man not a woman in all versions of the character. I really hope no one comes to your channel hoping to learn more about their favorite marvel comics because you've been fucking up basic shit.. You could have at least googled the info before you made this video. I haven't even finished the video so I don't know what else you messed up but shit dude get it together.
